The purpose of this report is to effectively discuss the importance of leadership in project
management as studies has stated that effective leader can invoke the success of a team by
collaborating all team members into the task and by treating them equally. Followed by this
aspects this paper has elaborated the leadership issues which has have accounted from the
mentioned case scenario along with that it has also explained the leadership styles, by which
the project can get success as well as it has also described the ethical issues which is present
in the case scenario. Thus, it can be stated that a thorough analysis of this paper will surely
provide a brief idea about the importance and aspects of Leadership in project management.
Issues in Leadership:
Followed by the aspects that there is a huge impact of the leaders in a project for the
success of that project. However, several studies has also mentioned that having an infective
leader can significantly harm the team work as well as it can even carry several limitation in
the project development. According to studies a project leader must be capable to resolve all
the problems which are being faced by the team members during the project development.
Along with that it is also expected from a leader to effectively communicate with the team
members as well as the customers to deliver desired product [1]. Followed by this method it
has been also noticed that the presence of an infective leader have the high chance to lead
miscommunication between the team as well as it is highly essential for a lead to be clam and
composed as there will several situation which needs to be handled with care, thus the
incorporation of an high temper or hyper team leader have the chance to disappoint the team
members as that team leader will not be able to resolve all the problems which has been
accounted by the team members [2]. Followed by this a leader must hold the responsibility to
deliver the massages between the stakeholders, company, customers as well as the team
members in order to keep track of the development process however, if the leader fails to do

it will cause significant impact on the services of project development as the team will end up
by making something which the customers has not ordered for. Hence, it can be concluded
that the incorporation of infective leader which effect the project development as well as the
customer satisfaction [3].
Leadership Style:
Followed by the above aspects it can be stated that there is a significant importance of
capable project leader in order to deliver accurate product as well as in order to collaborate
the team members for better services, Charles Pellerin has introduced four leadership style in
order to differentiate the working style of them as well as to identify the work effectiveness
by those styles. A detail elaboration of those leadership styles is listed below:
The cultivating Emotional-Intuitive leader (green) – this style of leadership represents the
working process of an individual leader, who is basically initiate the team collaboration
process by developing trust factors and loyalty among the team member. Along with this one
of the major aspects of this type of leadership style is to have emotional bonding between the
team members by which the team members will never hesitate to contact with the leader as
well as the leader will also have the emotional bonding towards the team member, thus the
leader will positively try to resolve the problem which have been accounted by the team
members. Thus, according to Charles leadership study this style of leadership hold a
significant impact towards the betterment of the project development [4].
The including Emotional-Sensing leader (yellow) – according to this style of leadership the
incorporation of an emotionally intelligent team leader has a significant chance to drive the
success of the project development as the leader with the mention capability will effectively
rectify the positive as well as negative habits of a team member by which the lead can
effectively utilize those aspects for the betterment of the project development.

The visioning Logical-Intuitive leader (blue) – this style states that the incorporation of a
logical as well as intuitive leader into the project development can highly effect the project
development towards its success. As a person with logical as well as intuitive skills holds the
ability to think smarter and address the possible limitations by the logical skill. Followed by
this there is a significant benefit of this types of leadership style as the leader with these
capabilities can effectively resolve the problem which have been faced by the team members
during the time of project development [7].
The directing Logical-Sensing leader (orange) – according to this Charles this types of
leadership style holds the capability to deliver the product within the expected time period no
matter what consequences are faced by the team members. Due to this nature of a leader the
team members are not comfortable to open up about the problems they have faced which
have a significant impact on the success of the project development [5].
Success of the Project:
After effectively analyzing the leadership styles which have been introduced by Charles, it
can be stated that in order to proceed with an effective project development team the
incorporation of the leaders who follows the Green and the Blue leadership style is essential.
As the incorporation of Green leadership style will help the team leader to effectively
communicate with the team members as this types of leaders proceed by developing an
emotional bond with the fellow team members. Along the aspects of effective communication
the incorporation of a logically intelligent team leader is also essential in order to invoke the
success of a project. Thus, followed by this aspects Blue leadership style can drive a project
to its desired success [6].
Thus it can be stated that the incorporation of Green and Blue leadership style holds the
feature to deliver a good quality product by effectively organize the collaboration of the team

members and utilize their capabilities is positive way, has a significant scope towards the
success of a project.
Ethical Issue:
According to the mentioned case study it has been noticed that there is major ethical
drawback present while launching the Hubble Telescope by knowing the fact that the mirror
of the telescope is infected. Followed by which one of the developer has suggested to use
alternative technology for the proposed purpose [10]. However, in this case a major loss has
been accounted related to the delivery time as well as the expense. Thus, in order to mitigate
the problem it is being suggested that rather that replacing the entire technology the developer
must include such additional technology into it which may reduce the limitation of the
Hubble Telescope [9].
