Leadership theories
Leadership theories are usually considered as schools of ideas which are brought together to
describe which few individuals are able to attain a leadership position. These theories mainly
include specific traits and behaviors which can be acquired by some individuals to enhance their
leadership capabilities. At present business environment, there are various types of leadership
theories available which are trait theory, contingency theory, situational theory, behaviour
theory, and great man theory. One of the most important leadership theories is trait theory
(Nawaz & Khan, 2016). This theory is almost similar to great man theory and is based on the
characteristics of various leaders which include both successful as well as unsuccessful in their
life. This theory is mainly focused on effective prediction of leadership. In this theory
characteristic of leader is identified on the base of potential leaders in the form of physical
appearance it may be height, style or other demographic attributes such as education, family
belonging and brilliant level. Another leadership is contingency theory; this theory is linked with
different style adopted by the leaders according to the present situation (Fiedler, 2015). It simply
indicates that a particular leadership style cannot be applied to all situations. This theory believes
that effective use of all the style as per the situation in the context of behaviour and attitude
decides the effective leader. This theory also focuses that effective leader is able to balance the
requirement of their followers as per the situation. Another leadership theory is situational theory
and it is considered very similar to contingency theory. This theory believes that having one
leadership style will not be able to influence their followers and therefore leadership is
completely dependent on the present situation (Zigarmi & Roberts, 2017). In addition, leadership
style is also dependent on task, attribute displayed by follower and so on. It includes two main
key elements which are leadership style and other is maturity level of followers.

Bill gates is considered as one of the most effective leaders in the business world which is
capable of influencing others with his unique leadership qualities. He is the leaders who is able
to maximize the efforts of his peers for some specific objectives. Bill gates is known for great
contribution in the business world by establishing the trend of trust, ethics and positive work
environment. Bill gates is the founder of one of the most innovative IT company Microsoft. He
establishes his company with Paul Allen to set up a new trend in the software business market
(Hedayati, 2014). He introduced the programming language to make people believe that nothing
is impossible in this world. He always believes that if we have passion in our life then it is
possible for us to bring even impossible thing into the framework of possibility. In addition, bill
gates is well known for their innovative business strategies which helped Microsoft company to
acquire the top position in the list of software companies at present situation. Bill gated believe
that loving your work is more important in order to develop our career growth in this world of
competition because it provides uniqueness.

Leadership style of Bill gates
Bill gates is considered the most effective leader in the business world which is able to gain the
top position in the list of admired leaders. The leadership style which is being displayed by this
leader is democratic style but he is also known for displaying various other leadership styles as
per the situation. But his democratic leadership style is considered as the most dominant style
displayed by this person. Bill gates is known for taking all the business decision in their
organization with the help of other supporters. All the business decision taken by Bill gates is
mainly based on the suggestion which he has received from other organization members because
he believes that ten minds are better than one mind (Agrawal, 2019). Democratic leadership style
of Bill gates allows him to generate a pool of ideas from which he can select the most brilliant
idea which can full fill all the present and future requirement of the organization in this
competitive world. He spends most of his time with his peers and colleagues to understand the
latest pattern which is trending in the business market in order to remain sustainable. Democratic
leader’s style of leadership has both positive and negative impact on Bill gates from business
point of view. But it has been seen that positive impacts are more on Bill gates as compared to
negative impacts (Khan et al., 2015). This leadership style has helped the Bill gates to solve
various types of complex problems which have arisen in the organization. This leadership style
helped Bill gates to develop a more positive business model in the organization which has
offered them accuracy in their business operations. Making use of team helped him to bring
innovation and efficiency together on single platform which is the demand of the present
