various resources such as natural, human, technological and financial. The person handling
management is called manager of organisation who is overall responsible for managing different
activities. In order to run business in effective and efficient manner, both leadership and
management is required in organisation for accomplishment of goal and objective. The given
assignment is based on Marks and Spencer which was founded in 1884 by Michael Marks and
Thomas Spencer at Leeds, United Kingdom. It is British multinational retail industry that deals
in selling home products, clothing and luxury food products. It has approximately 979 stores
across UK and including 615 that sell only food products. This report covers concept of
management and leadership along with their difference. It also highlight leadership theory and
management development program used in retail sector at UK that focus on leadership.
