INTRODUCTION
Leadership and management is essential part of business and this will lead to have major impact
on overall performance and productivity of organisation. Effective leadership an organization
would able to make accomplishment of its objectives because it enables an adequate guidance
and instruction to employees (Hallinger and Kovačević, 2021). management is a combination of
various activities that may assist the organization to achieve success and attain its goals. Chosen
non profit organisation for conducting this research is Mother’s choice is a local charity
organization that serve orphaned children, single moms and pregnant teenagers. This research
includes aspect of management and leadership in the context of volunteers working in the charity
organization. In this research, investigator will attempt to interview at least one leader and one
management officer from the organisation, to find out about their strategies and approach, and
focus towards the importance and the implication of the best leadership and management
approach so that the goal and objective of the research would be accomplished. Apart from this
various strategies would be recommended to the charity organization so that they can render a
more enhanced service.
Research aims
Aims in this research proposal is to do a study on the leadership and management
implemented with the hiring of volunteers who work in the orphanage at Mothers Choice.
Research Objectives
To analyse the concept of leadership and Management along with this determine their
methods of implementation.
To identify the implications of leadership and Management within this Charity
organisation, and observe some of the issues that can arise.
To determined different strategies that could be used by company in order to overcome

and functioning of business. it is important for organisation to consider practices of
leadership and management with the motive of increasing business performance as well as
attaining desired goals. Leadership raise the efficiency of work of the organization so that
effective outcome would be delivered by them. This is essential for providing direction and
guidance to employees so that they can conduct business practices in effective and required
manner (Beauchamp and et.al., 2021). With effective management and planning the future
course of action and activities of the organization would be ascertain. It has been analysed
that by correctly managing and leading employees respective organisation will be able to
encourage them to successfully perform required set of business practices as well as enhance
organisational performance. There are different types of methods of implementation of
leadership and management practices. These methods includes autocratic, authoritative,
democratic, coaching and many more. All of these leadership and management practices are
significant in order to effectively carry out activities of business as well as increasing
performance of employees. Authoritative leaders illuminate employees regarding a typical
vision and objective for the organization and detail employee obligations intended to make
arriving at that objective a reality. There is an unmistakable division among employees and
the business, and the employees are sure about the ideal outcome. They are regularly given
rules however permitted to satisfy their commitments as they see fit. Through this leaders

with in charity organisation have to face various issues and problems. Non-profit
organization involves the goal which can’t be measured in monetary terms so it may lead to
difficult situation for the organization with regard to employees working. In the same way
with the involvement of external parties in the working of the organization also create
conflicts. Leaders can see the way ahead for the association (Aboramadan and et.al., 2021).
They can help the association lay out and accomplish objectives. It has been determined that
there is difference between the practices of leadership in the non profit organisation as well
as the business which is performing for profits. This will lead to have influence over
productivity and profitability of business and due to this leaders and managers will be able to
conduct its business practices in appropriate manner. Without leadership, a little non - profit
may never arrive at its maximum capacity. The association can deteriorate or encounter
bedlam. Outcomes can go from disruption to moral and ethical compromises. A leaders of
the group is looking to individual to give motivation and motivation to finish their work. This
can feel extreme in a difficult workplace or on the other hand in case people not feeling
spurred themselves (Labrague, 2021). It is very challenging for leaders to retain it employees
as there is lack of people who are willing to perform activities without money or salary.
Employee retention is one of the crucial issues that is faced by the leaders of non profit
organisation. To move others, assist other employees with focus in on the worth their work
makes. Offer the vision for the group and ensure every one of them can interface with how
their piece of work has an effect. Leaders face issue in inspiring other while conducting
business practices effectively and efficiently. It has been determined that leaders will not be
able to encourage and motivate people to work effectively in non profit or charity
organisation.

efficient strategies that is helpful for dealing with the issues. By developing right and accurate
strategies respective company will be able to deal with the challenges as well as enhance
business practices. So it has been identified that leaders and managers needs to use effective and
creative approaches of motivation (Hewitt and et.al., 2021). This will assist in improving overall
performance of employees to contribute effectively in accomplishment of desired goals. The
aspect of leadership these problems would be easily resolved in terms of influencing and
motivating the employees. This would assist them to accomplish their individual goal along with
organization’s objectives. This is because when the planned activities would be performed in the
desired manner then it would lead to better functioning of the organization. In the same way with
effective management the non-profit organization would implement synchronization in its
activities and functions which would further assist it to make accomplish its goal. In the same
way as the structure of non-profit organization is open and changing with the interaction of other
external parties and with the presence of charitable goals. It has been analysed that along with
the motivational practices it is also important that effective management style is also considered
in order to dealing with the challenges of business. So with the adoption of appropriate
management style not only the working would be improved but it will also assist the
organization to establish co-ordination in its activities and working. With effective leadership,
non-profit or charity organizations would be able to manage their work without putting
themselves in situations regarding issues contrary to their ethos, and clearly marked aims of the
charity would be more easily accomplished. Leadership is created through training. With help,
training, and mentorship, others like me can conquer the difficulties of leadership and develop to
be acceptable leaders.
Research methodology
Research methodology can be describe as the process according to which different
practices of research will be performed.
Research philosophy – This is consider as the belief as per which practices of research
will be conducted. To perform the research, it includes two types i.e. interpretivism and
positivism (Gillam, 2021). In this research, interpretivism philosophy would be adopted
so that the data would be analysed in-depth. With this philosophy the research would able

to make a detailed analysis of the research concept. This will assist researcher to take
right and accurate decision which is needed for successfully performing task.
Research methods – There are two types of research method that is quantitative and
qualitative research. Quantitative research is essential for analysing information in
statistical and numerical data. where as qualitative research is essential for gathering in
depth and detailed information about the topic (Reynolds and McKimm, 2021). In order
to make analysis of leadership and management within the context of non-profit
organization, qualitative method would be adopted so that a detailed analysis would be
performed.
Research design – It is crucial that proper and accurate research design is developed as
this will assist in enhancing research activities. With respect to the current research
inductive would be chosen.
Data collection method - Primary will be based on the experience from the researcher
from how to probe into problems and how to deal with the enthusiasm from the
interviewers and the experience of them as well. Secondary will be based on literature,
articles, the reference and law from Hong Kong charity society association. It includes
the collection of data from two sources including primary and secondary In the proposed
research a combination of both the sources would be adopted so that the research would
be performed in an authenticate manner (MacKian, and Simons, 2021).
Research strategy - As a researcher, an in-depth interviews with one leader, one
management officer, but most focus on two volunteers, totally will be four. With my
experience in special needs school as a volunteer and also had an experience for
interviewing some single moms in Hong Kong Single Parents Association, I do leading
my team in the company as a senior. Qualitative research methodology of grounded
theory will be more suitable in this case and approaching will be more flexible and it also
allows some interesting information when doing the data collecting process.
Limitation
The major limitation is the organisation divulging personal information for worry of it being
exposed to the public, data protection, especially with orphans and their family history, and legal
matters as obviously several of these children belong to the court. This research will be interview

through a small group of four people who work in the same organization, but restricted in a
specific office; Mother’s choice is a non-profit organization, mainly to serve orphaned children,

order to overcome with the limitation of misusing of data and information the crucial information

organization including profit or non-profit, where all the activities would be directed towards the
organization’s goal. Leadership and management practices are significant in order to effectively
carry out activities of business as well as increasing performance of employees.
