Difference between leadership and management
The vision and the goals are set and directed by the leader whereas the management
understands the goals of the company. The leader assembles and manages the team whereas the
management assigns the task to the team members (Holm and Severinsson, 2014). The leader
always inspires the other people while the management reviews the work guide the individual. In
the leadership, the people follow the leader while in the management, the manager makes the
plan, organize them and coordinate them with the staff.
How the goals of management and leadership overlap with example
The goals of the leadership and management overlap as they both perform a different task
so their functions generally get a match with each other. The goals of the leader and manager are
to increase productivity in the company so it overlaps only when they perform the task of
motivating the employees to achieve the goals. For example, the goal of the leader to motivate
the employees whereas the goals of the manager are to perform the task and both their goals
overlap the productivity of the company (Giddens, 2018).
As a nurse leader, how you facilitate change by taking advantage of this overlap.
The goals of the management of the leader are overlapped by the nurse leader as they
influence the change in health care. The integration of patient care is overlapped by the nurse and
leads to health promotion. They also take advantage of preventing diseases and the ability to
provide effective treatment. They also facilitate the change by enhancing patient care and have
certain qualities like courage, integrity, initiative, etc. which are taking advantage of overlapping.
