INTRODUCTION
The report aims to analyse the role of leadership and management in relation to different
organisational strategies. Leadership plays vital role in order to guide and motivate employees in
a well manner. Leadership is effective when an organisation needs to face difficult situation. It is
required to deal with multiple tasks and activities that needs to be done in proper way. A leaders
is the one who holds a special place in the mind of employees. They are the inspirational
personality which that have various skills to attract people (Julian, Manalo, and Estiva, 2018).
These skills includes hard and soft skills, communication, management and interpersonal which
helped in achieving tasks and objectives. This report is based on Blue Arrow company which is a
recruiting agency that provides employment opportunities for individual and solve client's
problem. This agency will ensure that, they provide solutions for the business in recruiting and
retaining people. This report is going to analyse different leadership theories and management
activities for different organisation. There will be discussion about how management approaches
are linked with different activities at workplace. Also, critical evaluation will be present in this
report to analyse the impact of approaches in leadership and management.

P1 Discuss different theories of leadership in relation to the management activities in different
organisations.
Leadership is an effective practices which enables a company to achieve goals and
objectives. It demonstrate how a leader is could influence and guide to other people for
managing roles and responsibility. Different leaders have different theories which they undertake
in their practice. Every individual has their internal talent to communicate and interact with
others. It depends on how a company will be able to motivate and guide their employees to fulfil
the desired targets (Hallinger, and Kovačević, 2022). There are different leadership style which
are used by different types of individuals. Each leader is regarded with many skills like hard and
soft communication, time management and problem solving. These leadership theories are
described below:
Contingency theory: As per this theory, leaders could not use one particular style or
theory in all the situation within organisation. Different situation require different decisions for

which leaders must choose a right action by analysing the whole situation appropriately. The
blue Arrow agency apply this theory when employees were working in the Covid-19 pandemic.
There were a lot of hurdles in working with technology. Whereas, the Inter quest group leaders
use this theory when they face drastic change in their workplace.
Situational leadership theory: This theory shows that, the leaders must be follow
different styles and theories as per the requirement of situation. The leaders face many ups and
downs in Blue Arrow agency when they require best guiding technique. The company needs to
serve their client best recruitment staff for which they train employees to communicate with
them to analyse their issues. In inter quest group has their main standards to serve their client so
they impose their expectation on them. This makes the leaders constant in decision making.
Transformational Leadership Theory: This theory shows that these leaders has their
approach to make relationship among employees and leaders. The leaders of blue arrow agency
believes that, they must be inspirational and encouraging for the employees in order to involve
them in the tasks and activities (Connolly, James, and Fertig, 2019). They are the motivational
personality which influence other by their key skills. The blue arrow agency use this theory of
leadership to inspire people with their positive mindset and workaholic approach. Therefore, the
company inter quest group also follows this theory which maintain good interpersonal relations
among the individuals.
Transactional Theories: This theory shows that how an individual will work as per the
supervisor and senior manger. These leaders are liable to put regular control and supervision on
employees performance. They believe that, by continuous monitoring, employees will find their
mistakes and find solution to improve their productivity at workplace. The leaders of blue arrow
agency does not follow this theory as they create an independent environment for employees to
work. Whereas, inter quest group of leaders treat employees by giving rewards and punishments
for the work done.

There are various management theories in relation to the leadership activities. Management is
another important concepts which helps in achieving goals in the organisation. It enables a

diversified business areas, some effective management theories are described below:
Scientific management theory: This theory involves scientific management practices
within an organisation. The leaders not only believes in theoretical way, they believe that all the
workplace activities must be created in scientific manner (Bush, Bell, and Middlewood, 2019).
The blue arrow agency does not use this theory as they do not follow the culture of forcing
people or punishing them to work hard. the inter quest group uses this theory in order to manage
people and make them work hard.
Principles of administrative management theory: as per this theory, the managers of
the company needs to have skills to make plans, coordinate and control, manage tasks

relation is also effective. These theories are necessary for a large organisation like blue arrow

employees and help them to work in each and every situation. It manages the work done by the
company and they are able to maintain best goals and enhance productivity. On the other side, in
InterQuest Group the employees ae not provided with positive culture. There are more conflicts
that take place in the business organisation that reduces the productivity of the employees in the
company.

From the above report, it is concluded that leadership and management plays a vital role in
managing the employees. It is necessary to adopt right style so that goals and objectives are
attained. The theories of leadership are important part of this report. The relation among the
theories is also mentioned in the report. The different organisational situations and there is
comparison is done to know about the best leadership and management style. In the end the
factors that impact the development of culture in organisation are mentioned.
