Leadership traits possessed by me and not possessed by me
Traits possessed by me
1. Need for achievement: In every individual and group task, I always help every person
in group for achieving their objectives. I believe that success of group should be the priority
of every person in order to achieve the goal that is made for the group project. At the same
time, I also committed to help or assist the group members for reaching the milestones (Terzi
& Derin, 2016).
2. Understating the leaders as well as their needs: I have seen that I always pay attention
to the group members by caring and assisting them in succeeding. I always believe in helping
each member by understanding his or her needs. I try my best to understand every follower
need while working in any group project.
3. Courage and resolution: It is one such leadership trait possessed by me. I am brave as
well as committed toward the goals of the group.
Traits that are not possessed by me
1. Self-confidence: due to the lack of self-confidence, I am not able to achieve positive
results even if I have performed right. I think that I should work on always believing in my
efforts.
2. Emotional stability: I am not able to control my emotions many times. This trait is my
major weakness.
3. Decisiveness: there are times I am not able to take decision on time. This might affect
my working as a leader in future.
Trait that is not included in the trait theory
Communication is one such element that is not included in the trait theory.
Communication is the most significant aspect that should not be ignored by the trait theory of
leadership.

Perception of mine for being an effective leader
As per the trait theory, I believe that I can be a good leader because of my courage
and willingness to achieve success by helping my group members. I always help my team
members in order to achieve good results. I always have sense of achievement in every work
I do. This will definitely help me in becoming a good leader and achieve success in every
possible task.
Situational, servant and transformational leadership
A. Situational model of leadership is widely used model in the organisation. It directly
give emphasis on the employees readiness to achieve some of the task that depends on the
competency and willingness to the employees. This theory was developed by Hersey-
Blanchard by stating that no single style of leadership is enough. According to him, an
effective leader is the one who adapt their style as per the situation (Hoch et al, 2018).
Transformational leadership is said to be the process where a person is engaged with other in
order to create the connection for raising the level of morality and motivation in leader as
well as follower. As compare to this, servant leadership put the good of its followers over
ones self interest by demonstrating the strong and moral behaviour toward their followers,
stakeholders, as well as organisation (Farhan, 2018).
B. Situational leadership is far more acceptable and effective in the 21st century as compare to
servant and transformational leadership. It is because other leadership styles are based on the
approaches and traits of the leader, situational leadership is directly based on the nation that a
leader has to face the situations whatever is coming on the way. Situational leadership style is
also proved to be effective due to its application of varied leadership skills (Choi, Kim &
Kang, 2017).
C. when I was doing internship, I still remember the leader John who was positive enough to
help employees in getting out from their zone and working innovatively. During the complex
business situations too, he handled everything with due care. I come to learn different things
when I will work in future as a leader or employees. The first most significant element that I
learn about the leader is that challenges are everywhere. It depends how a person accept the
challenges and work on those challenges.

Power: positive and negative sue of power
David K. Williams who is CEO of Fishbowl has made the positive use of its power by
effectively carrying out its leadership skills. The use of servant leadership has helped it in
achieving the organisational success. One such company made the commitment for pursuing
excellence for its employees. Through the Courage Above Mountains Foundation it has made
the humanitarian efforts (Giriprakash, 2019).
The Infosys CEO named Salil Parekh was found to be indulged in unethical practices
for boosting the short-term profit and revenue. Group also claimed that they have mails as
well as recording in order to prove that Infosys is indulged in such practice. It has made the
wrong use of its power by indulging in such practices (Schwantes, 2019).
Personal leadership/Management Profile
Part a
I always want to work as a leader in organisation by effectively involving with the
team members. As I have discussed that situational leadership approach is the best approach
that a leader can use in order to succeed in the complex business environment. At the time of
working in organisation also, I definitely apply the situations approach by carefully knowing
the situation. In my view, I believe that it is the best approach that can work effectively in the
21st century (Fiaz, Su & Saqib, 2017).
I will follow several core values at the leadership position in future. Among this, sticking
properly to the organisation mission and goal will be done. I will effectively clarify the goals
to employees so that they will be effectively able to fulfil the responsibilities given to them.
at the same time, I will also treat other with compassion, dignity and empathy. Authencity
will be another core value that will be demonstrated by congruency, consistency, and
transparency in beliefs, values and actions by integrating the principles and values to create a
purposeful life. Above all this, humility will be the core value at the position of leader in
future. I will always keep myself aware of the others limitation as well as open to others
perspective (pidgeon, 2017).
Part B
I need to work on some of the leadership approaches such as how to motivate the team
members when they are getting demotivated. It is one such weakness that I need to improve

in order to work at the leadership position in future.at the same time, decision-making skills
are also required to be develop by me in order to effectively carrying out the leadership
responsibilities in organisation.
Leadership scenario
1. As per the Hershey Blanchard Model, participative leadership model is effective as it
helps in letting know the problems that are being faced by the employees. It will help in
knowing the hindrances coming on the way of employees. By using this approach, it is also
possible to motivate employees for always believing in him or her.
2. Through the path goal model, it is better to use democratic leadership style so that
employees also feel their presence or value in the organisation. By using this style, it will also
possible to get the productivity on the side of employees. The reason is that when employees
are given stake in the decisions of the organisation, they seems happy and work happily by
giving their best (Chow, Salleh & Ismail, 2017).
3. According to the path goal theory, achievement oriented leadership style will be best
to adopt in this situation. By using this approach, organisation will be able to provide the
reward to employees as per their performance or output. This will lead to the appreciation to
those employees who have performed well. At the same time, several criteria’s will be
discussed in advance on the basis of those performance will be measured (Marturano, 2016).
4. Under this situation, leader can use the participative approach of leadership where
active involvement of leaders can be done in the decision-making and other aspects of the
organisation. At the same time, they can ask the problems that they are facing related to
rewarding system of the organisation. At the same time, this will also help in knowing the
capability of the employees on which they should be judged.
5. In such a situation, directive leadership approach can be used where employees will
be taught the right direction. When employees are found to be competent but not working, it
means that they do not have positive organisational culture to work. Therefore, directive
approach will definitely bring the positivity in the organisation because employees also
become happy when they have such leader who are directing them in the right direction.
