EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Leading and management is the important process for any organization as it require to
resourcing employees, organising, directing, and controlling the functions which can help to
develop the business performance. Leadership is the process of social influencing which is used
by an individual to provide the right guideline to their staff and getting the work done.
Management is the activity which of getting people collectively for the purpose of accomplishing
goals and objectives. Different leadership theory such as action centred and others that are
beneficial for people and developing the business performance. The report will focus on my
experienced which I gained after working at the workplace and learning stage.

INTRODUCTION
Leadership is the area of research and practical skills which used by individual for the
purpose of running a business and getting the task done from all employees. This is an action of
leading a group of people and managing the all resources. Reflection is the metacognitive
process that involves thinking and experience of an individual that brings changes in their
thinking (Chang, 2019). As a leader of Tesco organization I understood that leadership skills and
abilities are important for a person which used to managing the all working and functions at the
workplace. The present report will focus on different skills and knowledge of leader by using the
different model and theories.
MAIN BODY
Leadership is the activity used to setting new direction, and vision for betterment of
organization and employees who works at the workplace and increase the productivity. Leader is
the person who have special knowledge and skills for doing any task and managing the higher
performance. While studying in the college my tutor taught me a lesson of leadership and
management where I learnt the different theories and model of leadership that are uses by leader
for managing all performance of organization. This is important for management and leaders to
understand what their employees wants and how they can be satisfied. By using the Kolb
reflection model I am sharing my experience as a leader of organization. In concrete experience I
learnt about different leadership model and theory such as Action centred leadership, and
charismatic that can be used by a leader to motivating the employees and getting the work done.
The action cantered leader ship is a leadership model that highlights key actions and leader
should take such action while managing the team. I used this model in three areas like task in
determining the team and organization goals when I was working in Tesco as a leader that
supported me to manage the each working. Team is the second area where I build a team for
allocating the team as per their skills and abilities. The third area is individual which is used in
helping the individual and team members to develop their potential at the workplace. This was an
good opportunity for me where I can show my talent and capability to handling the task (Harrop,
Casey and Shelton, 2018).
I learnt various skills while working on the project that explained in reflective
observation. This stage is related to reviewing and reflecting on the experience that supports to

managing the workings. The reflective observation stage have used by me to sharing my
experience about project which assigned my senior during working. As a leader I analysed that I
have good communication skills, team work, determination, confidence, setting goals, and other
leadership skills which are important me to as it help to share the ideas and information with all
team members and employees who were involved in the projects. I analysed that team work is
the good skills that should have in management and leader, uses to set the goals and work on
them. This area helped me to reach or meet with the decided goals. Herein, I also noticed that I
am much confidence about my decision and action which I taken while working in the
organization and doing the project. This can help to increase the skills and abilities of any
individual that can help to managing all functions (Dressler, Becker, Kawalilak and Arthur,
2018).
Abstract conceptualization is the another stage that states conclusion and learning from
the working or experience. While learning my tutor have learnt me different ways which can be
use to solve the problems and analysing own weakness that can be improve. As a leader I worked
in organization where I came to know my weakness such as I was not good in problem solving,
lack of writing skills, lack of motivation, listening skills, and lack of mathematical abilities
which is important to have in individual as uses to influencing the employees who work and at
the organization. While doing a project, I faced the problem of motivation due to which all team
members was not working in a good way and not providing good outcomes. I feel nervous at that
time because team member not properly engaged in working. I overcome the all issues and
problems by observing my senior, taking regular classes and sharing the opinion with team
member that supported me to solve the problem and develop own skills and abilities. As a leader
I understand the problems of team member, communicate with them properly and fill their needs
which they wants for the purpose of motivate them and completing the project timely. Herein, I
accepted the challenges and meet with the goals effectively (Bhanot, 2018).
As I discussed leadership skills and knowledge by using leadership theory became an
opportunity for me as it helps to handle the task and team by deciding the goals. Active
experimentation is the last stage of reflection model in which individual states planning and
stages what have learned from the all activities. As a leader, my management has assigned me
project to bring new technology and improved the organizational sales by using my strength that
can help to complete the task and manage the all workings effectively. This became important

task for me as I turn weakness in to my strength and handle the project effectively (McCaffery,
2018).
Thus, from the reflection I analysed that leadership and management skills is important
for any individual as it is used to set the goals, formulate planning, allocating work between team
members, and motivating the employees which can help to develop the business performance.
CONCLUSION
From the report it can be concluded that reflection is the activity in which individual
share their learning and experience which have done. Leadership is process of identifying needs
of employees, solving problems, and meeting with organizational as well as individual goals.
This can help to increase the business performance and motivate the employees at the workplace.
