INTRODUCTION
Developing manager help to study different events of future. They make plan and
strategies according to there analysation (Makuiand et.al., 2018). Manger develop different
department and assign target to these department. It is responsibility of manger to complete task
effectively. They are accountable to superior. This project discuss about management, further it
discuss comparison between Autocratic, Democratic, Laissez Faire leadership, characteristics of
leader, communication process in management, personal managerial skills, SWOT analysis of
individuals, motivate teams to achieve organisational goals, justification of management
decision with theories, managerial and personal skills in individuals and career development
plans.
Task 1
1.1 Definition of management
A) It is process of organizing and managing activities of business. Mangers make
strategies to achieve goals of organisation. They play key role in coordinating efforts of
employees towards organisational goals. They basically perform five functions like planning,
organising, staffing, directing and controlling. Mangers make plan by analysing future situations.
It is outline of business, which help in proper functioning of business. There are different
activities performed in business, activities with similar nature are grouped in one department.
Mangers divide there work to avoid burden. After departments are made, they need employees
for performance of different work. In staffing they hire employees and workers according to their
skills and knowledge. They are given directions and instructions to perform work. They control
and check work of every employees and measure their performance. Managers interact with
employees of organisation and take feed back from them. They equally involve workers in every
decisions of businesses. They guide and motivate employees to perform there task. Polite nature
of manager, help in building up strong relationship with people in organisation. All the
important decisions of organisation are taken by manger (Sasnettand et.al., 2018). This is
important function performed by manger.

making any decisions. They are flexible. Laissez fair form of leader leave every decisions in
hands of there followers. They have very less involvement in decisions of organisation. It is very
important for organisation to select effective form of leadership.
1.2 Characteristics of leader
There are different characteristics of leader, some of them are discussed bellow.ï‚· Honesty : this is positive characteristics that leader must have. Followers blindly follow
there leader, it is very important to give true and fair opinions. Leaders inspire there
followers. Trustworthy is a part of honesty, leader should do all possible efforts to gain
trust of there followers.ï‚· Confidence: leader should be assured about decisions they have made. There are many
conflicts and problems that arise in organisation, they should have confidence to deal
with them (Hancock, 2017). Leaders should have trust on there skills and capabilities.

Communication skills of leaders should be very strong. They listen to problems of
followers, and provide them with solutions. If a leader can not clearly communicate there
ideas it will become problem for there followers to understand and follow them.
ï‚· Flexibility : environment change according to different factors. For survival of any
organisation it is important to adapt changes. They are many unexpected situations that
force entrepreneur to be flexible. It refer to adaption of different strategies and plan, that
situation demand.
1.3 Communication process in management
Systematic planning and implementing of plan is done in communication. There are
different channels in organisation, that help in flow of ideas and plans. There are two type of
communication formal and informal (Smithand Dodds, 2017). There is systemic way of
communication in formal. It is responsible for providing ideas to employees.

employees in organization. They have lack of confidence in
expression of ideas sand opinions. misinterpretation of
instructions is possible because of emotional factors of
employees like anger, stress, etc.

Physical barriers is distance between sender and receiver of
message. They have different geographical areas, it become
very hard to communicate ideas and expression.

2.1 Personal managerial skills
Management skills are very important, through my personal experiences I have acquired
some of skills.
Technological skills : I use different types of techniques according to different situations. This
help in providing with best solutions in different problems.
Conceptual skills : I have knowledge to think about different ideas and opinions. Different
attitude of people can be analysed through this skills.
Motivation skills : I am positively motivated to achieve goals. Never loose self esteem in
uncertain and difficult situations.
Delegation : this help to achieve target on time. I delegate my work to my subordinate, so that I
can get time to focus on other important work .
Decision making : I can make decision quickly and effectively based on my knowledge and
experience. Right decisions help to make good choices.
Problem solving : there are many difficult problems. It is very important to stay positive and give
right solution to problems (Phillips and et.al., 2018).
Listening skills : effective listening can help in personal development of employees. Good
listening can analyse and interpret instructions given by others.

weaknesses. There are different opportunities which can increase my performance level. This
will help to make good carrier choice by analysing future opportunities. SWOT analysis will
help in growth and development of individuals.

3.1 Motivate teams to achieve goals of organisation
Motivated employees work effectively for organisational goals and targets. There are
different ways through which employees can be motivates some of them are discussed below.

Recognition: every employee like to be praised in front of other staff. If employees perform
according to standard of organisation (Avgerou and Walsham eds., 2017). Appreciation should
be given to employees for there performance. To get desired praise from manager, every
employee in organisation will work effectively.
Training : employees understand importance of knowledge. Management should give proper
education to employees. It help them to remain clam in difficult situations, it motivate
employees to increase there capacity to work. Training play an important role in individual
career.
Contribution chance : employees should given chance to give there opinions and suggestion. If
management find there suggestion useful, then they should be rewarded. Flexible mangers will
accept ideas from employees.
Flexible schedule : if rise in performance of employee is consistent, then they should be provided
with some of perks like work from home, extra break time, etc. providing them with flexible
schedule will motivate employees to work hard (August,and Shanahan 2017).
Workers participation : mangers can ask for there suggestion in important projects of
management. They will enjoy sharing there ideas with employees.
3.2 Justifying management decisions from theory of management
According to this Herbegs two factor theory in order to reduce dissatisfaction and
demotivation job recognisance can be optimum method which can eliminate this issue.
According to this theory it is very important to create job satisfaction among employees. There
are two factors hygiene and motivational factor. Motivated employees are asset for organisation.
This is done to enhance working capacity of individuals. These factors create job satisfaction
among employees. Employees should be appreciated in work place for completing there work
on time. To get appraisal from manger they will work effectively. If they achieve target before
allotted time, they should be rewarded with some benefits. They are accountable for completion
of work. Managers should have strong interpersonal relationship. There superior must feel free
to express there ideas and opinions (Liu, 2018). They provide employees with proper training
activities. Trained employees are every important for growth and development of organisation.
Management should give employees chance to participate in decision making process of
organisation. These factors help in providing job satisfaction among employees. They will feel

motivated and work hard to successfully achieve target. Motivated and satisfied employee can
increase productivity of firm. This will help employees to fully utilise there skills.

This project conclude that. Management is very important process, this process lead in
organisation of all businesses activities of work place. Different department have different target
and these target can be achieved through effective management. There are different style of
leadership that businesses follow. Democratic leadership is the most effective. Successful
leaders has many characteristics. Communication play very important role in management
process. It is possible if individual properly listening to instructions and follow them. Feedback
of ideas is possible only with good communication. Different types of communication are there
in organisation. There are different types of barriers that arise in communication process. Plans
are made to overcome these barriers. Managerial skills are very useful in career development.
SWOT analysis is done to figure out strength, weakness, opportunities and threats. It help in
developing plan that will minimise threats and weaknesses. This project give brief idea about
developing manager.
