INTRODUCTION
Leadership is a required skill and quality which is carry out by a particular person,
namely Leaders, whose objectives are to motivate the employees and guide them in a particular
way so that they can achieve their personal as well as organisational goals. Management is a
process of getting things done through people who are working for the organisation. It is done by
managers who decide the activities and assign these activities to the employees in order to
achieve them (Bush, Bell and Middlewood, 2019).
Present report will highlight the different classical management theories, roles of leaders
and their leadership styles. It will also tell about the impact of digital technology. It will also
analysis the different factors which may impact the management styles and organisational
structures.
MAIN BODY
Different classical management theories
There are various classical management theories which are as follows -
SCIENTIFIC MANAGEMENT
Finance manager of the organisations has adopted this management theory in which they
believe that managers' functions are to plan & control the organisational activities and give
instructions & tasks to the employees which employees has to do.
Impact of digital technology – Due to digital technology, Finance manager can provide
the best trainee to their employees and also provide them online training so that they can gain
more and more knowledge regarding their work (Bolden, 2016).
BUREAUCRATIC MANAGEMENT
Marketing manager of the organisations has adopted Bureaucratic management theory in
which he focuses on the hierarchical structure of the organisation and follow that structure to his
work. He does believe in formal rules and regulations, formal working relationship system and
specialized training for the assigned tasks.
Impact of digital technology – Due to digital technology, employees who are working
under marketing manager are giving new ideas which bring closeness between manager and
employees and reduce the distance between both of them due to formal rules, regulation and
hierarchical structure.
ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT

Restaurant manager of organisations believes in doing work in systematic manners in
which he clearly defines the tasks, its roles and responsibilities and conducting the tasks in a
hierarchical structure of the organisation. Restaurant manager does planning, organizing,
commanding, coordinating and controlling the employees and their work.
Impact of digital technology – Due to digital technology, Restaurant manager can do all
the work on device which make his work easy and he is able to more focus on his employees due
to completion of his own work on time.
Role of leader and their leadership styles
ROLE OF LEADER
Roles of Leader in Hazev, Haz and Tas are as follows -
As the Motivator
Leader plays an important role in the organisation by motivating the employees to do the
tasks in order to achieve the organizational as well as personal goals.
As the Mentor
Leader plays an important role in guiding employees to become success in his task.
Leader know what is the strengths and weaknesses of the particular employees and accordingly
he guides him for completion of tasks.
As the Communicator
It is an important skill to have in any leader because leader has to listen to his employees
carefully and effectively. He has to understand their emotions. He has to influence them in
positive way so that employees can do their work properly (Renz, 2016).
LEADERSHIP STYLES
There are various leadership styles which is being adopted by leaders of any
organisations. These leadership styles are as follows -
Autocratic Leadership Style
In this leadership style, leaders make decision without any consultation with their team
members. After taking decision, he communicates it with others and expect them to do work on
it.
Participative (Democratic) Leadership Style

In this leadership style, leaders before making decisions, take outputs from their
employees and think about it. If he likes the idea, he will include it in his decision. But the final
decision will be his call.
Laissez Faire Leadership Style
In this leadership style, leaders allow employees to take decisions by own. In case any
problems are arisen then he will guide employees to solve them.
Bureaucratic Leadership Style
In this leadership style, leaders work upon the rules and regulations of the organisation
which is fixed by organisation itself. He also guides employees to follow the rules & regulations
and complete their tasks in an organisational rule and regulations (Podsakoff and Podsakoff,
2019).
Management and leadership styles
Leaders and managers of Hazev, Haz and Tas chains use ā€œParticipative leadership
styleā€ and ā€œDelegative management styleā€.
Participative Leadership Style
Leaders of Hazev, Haz and Tas adopts participative leadership style which is also known
as Democratic leadership style. In this style, Leaders allows his team members to participate in
decision making but the final decision will be taken by leaders only after taking consult from
employees. In this leadership style, employees feel valued as their opinion is being taken. Due to
discussion, Decision making process take a lot of time.
Due to digital technology, employees have a lot of new ideas which is beneficial for the
organisation. Thus, decisions are more accurate and effective for the organisation.
Delegative Management Style
Managers of Hazev, Haz and Tas adopts delegative management style. In this style,
managers delegates his work to the employees along with roles and responsibilities which is
required to carried out the tasks which is being assign to them. But he doesn't direct the
employees and expects them to achieve the objectives behind the tasks. In this style, managers is
able to focus on another things which required his attention. Due to lack of guide, sometimes
employees take wrong decisions which may impact the whole organisation.

Due to digital technology, there are so many advance device or software through which
managers are able to manage people, projects and their responsibilities towards employees
anywhere and anytime.
Impacts of various factors which affect the management styles and organizational structures
There are various internal and external factors which may affect the management style
and organisational structure. These factors are as follows -
Numbers of Employees (Internal Factor)
Higher the numbers of employees in the organisation means varieties of employees in the
organisation which impact the managerial style because different personalities demand different
managerial styles.
Higher the numbers of employees, higher the hierarchical structure in the organisation
which lead to more control, more roles and more responsibilities.
Digital Technology (External Factor)
Due to digital technologies, a lot of devices, tools, technologies and software are being
use in the organisation which improves the managerial performance and reduce the work load for
the managers.
Due to digital technologies, managers and employees are doing effectively
communication through various devices which creates co-ordination in the organisation.
Workflow also maintain properly which lead organisation structures to become flatter and proper
without any confusion (Shin and et.al., 2015).
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it has been summarised that leadership and management are
essential part of any organisation. Without both of them, no organisation can achieve its
objectives. Because management helps organisation to conduct its various activities in co-
ordinative way and systematic way and leadership helps organisation to achieve its objectives
without disappointing anyone. Thus, both leaders and managers should work together because
their ultimate goal is to achieve organisational objectives and goals.
