covered 2998 acres of the airport area and the 3 runways. The major is used as the public
airport by the citizens of the California. In year 1970, the airport has started working in
the 3 major activities which included air racing, flight testing, space industry
development and aircraft heavy maintenance, storage and event centers.
MAIN BODY
CULTURE OF MOJAVE AIRLINE AND SPACE PORT
The organizational culture of the Mojave airport is totally different from the airports of the
world. There are only 23 full time employed employees in the airport who do their duties for 24*7. The
airport is very large in size and management system of the airport is quick and effective. The
organization is spreaded into 150 different businesses and there are more than 1500 employees working
in different sectors of the airport. The airport has an separate park in the airport where the aircrafts
were parked and like the other airports it was situated near the tower. From the year 1990, the Mojave
airport had an aircraft which was experimental rocket. In this the organization was training their
employees to learn how to fly the rocket. This training and development session was given for free to
the pilots working in the airline sector(Ololube, N.P., 2017). The airport also made separate space for
the landing of the private aircrafts. The airport was doing innovative things for the proper management
of the airport and to serve their customers with all the facilities in the airport. These innovation made in
the culture of the airport included the dozens of airlines parked in an organized form. The airport was
having the scaled composite’s proteus which cannot be seen in any other airport of the California. The
airport was having one make three flights in the airport which was beneficial to run more and more
flights at the same time.
OBSERVABLE ARTEFACTS OF MOJAVE AIRLINE AND SPACE PORT
It includes the physical work environment, available technology and products, manners of address, dress
code and values of employees work. The Mojave Air and Space Port culture was different from the
military culture. The airport was having an dress code for all the employees(Peters, K., 2016). The male
employees have to wear formal shirts and pants where the female employees have to wear formal shirts
and skirts. The color of the uniform should be in black, white, grey or brown. The bright colored
uniforms were not allowed for the employees working in the Mojave Air and Space Port. The physical
work environment of the airlines was well managed. The employees working at airport were filtered
according their skills, specialization, work experiences and roles and duties which they have to perform
at the airport. All the employees were having their different sector in which they have to work. A
separate cubical were provided to the each employee with their personal computer and laptops in it.
The ground staff of the airport was having employees which were managing their work with their

physical capabilities. The airport was having all the latest technologies which were available 24 hours for
their customers. These technologies helped a lot in making the airport work easy and effective for the
employees. The use of biometric machine, more self service and automation, artificial intelligence and
predictive software, blocked chains, cyber security, onboard connectivity and robotic assistants make
the airport management more easy and fast processing(Slavik, J and et.al., 2015). The airport also
had many rules which were equal to the rules followed in the military. The airport was very particular
with the uniform of their employees and they employees have to strictly follow the work timings.
ESPOUSED VALUES AND BELIEFS
The administration office of the Mojave Air and Space Port was opened for their customers from
Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 7:30 pm. At this time duration, the customers or the passengers were
free to call and ask for any quires and information regarding their flights and journey. The airport build
their strong value by the customer offering products and services within the airport. The airport
provided the pick up and drop cab facilities for their customers. The another product offered by the
airport was free coffee/tea and snacks for the passengers whose flight got late and they were staying at
the airport. The airport was also having the coffee shops and food stores where the passengers have
their full meal and relax for the long time. The airport also had private rooms which can be booked by
the passengers if their flight got late and they have to Waite for long time(Bird, A. and Mendenhall,
M.E., 2016). The cost of these rooms were very reasonable and it was totally safe. This facility was
made especially for the women who were travelling across the cities by flight. The rooms of Mojave
airports were very safe and they had security camera by which gained the trust of the female passengers

plastics, smoke, fuel etc were strictly prohibited inside the airport. The airport also took part in many
CSR activities which helped them saving the environment and it was also helpful in doing the marketing
of the airport.
LEADERSHIP STYLE OF THE MAJOVE AIRLINES AND SPACE PORT
The leadership style followed by the airport authority was divided into two styles and those
styles were as follows:
Stuart Witt leadership
Stuart Witt was the male Pilot in the navy force of the California, US. He was the first pilot who owned
the airlines transport and the Mooney M20 which was the based at the Inyokern Airport. The Stuart
Witt was found be a effective leader in the history of making the Mojave Air and Space Port a successful
organization the world. He arranged the donation of $10 million for the development of the airlines and
airports. In the year 2002, he was declared as the CEO of the Mojave Air and Space Port and later he
became general manager because of his leadership skills. He made many changes in the working

The Karina Dress was also the general manager of the Mojave airline who had served as the leader
among the staff of the airport. The Karina dress was the fresh MBA graduate who made many leadership
policies and rules which made the work of the employees more easy to handle and by her
entrepreneurship skills, she bought many innovations in the organization work culture. She stood as the
first women who handled all the responsibilities of the organization with full enthusiasm(Conger, J.,
2015).
Servant Leadership
The servant leadership played an important role in the success of the airlines business. The main
objective of this leadership was to serve their customers with the best services in the airport.
This servant leadership was the duty of all the employees working at the airport. They
employees have to help all the customers who had visited their airport and come with the best
possible solution of the problems of the customers.
METHODICAL APPROACH AND KNOWLEDGE
The methodical approach was also started by Karina Dress in the organization. The motive
behind using this methodology was to build the strong trust and faith among the customers who are
visiting the airport. The trust was build be providing all those facilities which were promised by the
organization in serving the best to their clients and customers. The another method was to provide the
stakeholders and shareholder with best investment policies and profit in the share market. The airport
was earning the maximum income by the investments done in the share markets and stock markets by
the investors. So it was the duty of the CEO to keep every shareholder happy and satisfied with the
investment policies in the organization. The another method used by the organization was to develop
the transparency in the work culture with in the organization. In this the sharing the confidential
secretes of the organization with their employees(Muller, and et.al., 2017). The develops a trust on
the employees by the organization. The development of trust helped a lot making the employees work
more efficient. The Karina Dress has also work in many other organizations before entering into the
airline industry. The experience and knowledge she got from her previous organization helped a lot in
making the success of airport in the airlines industry. She had got a very major experience in the nature
of the customers. What are the customer’s needs and what is their attitude towards the purchase of the
product and services were easily recognized by her. This skill of Karina Dress helped in understanding
the customer’s behavior and working according their attitude. The methodical approach is very
necessary in every organization. This is the best way to know the employees working capacities and
customer’s tastes and preferences. The methods involved in the judging the taste and preferences are
traditional methods and modern methods. The traditional methods includes the surveys and one on one
communication with the customers in which the customers mentions about their requirements and the
employees tells them about their offerings. In modern methodical approach, the employees
automatically understands the preferring and requirements of the customers by observing their
attitude, their preferences and reason why they had visited the airport. This method does not requires a
long conversation with the customers but the quick judgment is made by analyzing the behavior of the
customers (Leithwood,and et.al., 2019)

.
TRANSPERANCY IN THE Mojave Air and Space Port AND SPACE PORT
The transparency in the working culture is created by maintaining the trust and faith in the employees of
the organization. The Mojave Air and Space Port was giving their employees a right to take part in the
important decision making and planning’s regarding the success of the organization. As the Karina Dress
made “the involvement of the employees in every decision of the organization” a part of her leadership
policy, the organization had started following that policy and they were taking opinion of each and every
employee working under them(Salo, P., and et.al ., 2015). The another step taken to maintain the
transparency among the work culture was to give big responsibilities to the employees. As big the
responsibilities are, the employees will put more efforts in completing that work in the given time
period. It is the fact that when an employee is provided with responsibilities, they put their best efforts
in the completion of the work or task. This makes the growth of the business fast in the market and also
helps in earning more profit for the organization. The another major and most important step to make
the transparency in the organization is to share the success or failure results with the employees of the
organization. This sharing of results helps a lot in developing the identity and personality of each and
every employees. This results will show that where the employees is lacking and on which part they
have to work hard to improve the quality of their work. The employees who had worked well in the
organization will should be awarded with the additional benefits and rewards. These rewards and
awards motivates the employees to work more and more hard in the organization so that they will be
provided with higher post and promotions in the organization. Not only the success and failure stories of
the employees were shared by the Mojave Air and Space Port but also the issues which the organization
was facing in the market due to high competition in the airlines industries. The organization had faced
the financial crises in the year 1994, due to which the organization had stopped the work of imports of
raw materials from other countries. This was done to do cost cutting in the business activities of the
organization. The employees of the Mojave Air and Space Port were well known about this problem and
they co operated their best in making the organization’s financial condition stable in the economy
(Hamzah and et.al., 2016)
.
ADVANTAGES OF USE OF METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH IN THE Mojave Air and Space Port
INCREASE IN THE SPEED OF WORK
The use of high tech technologies and motivation among the employees of airport has increased the
working speed of each and every employee of the organization. As the working speed will be fast, the
employees will be able to get connect with more customers at the specific amount of time. The use of
latest technologies and equipments have made the work of the employees more easier and organized.
The workers are completing their work before the time limit allotted to them. By this they get connected
with more customers and serve them with best services(Sadeli, J., 2015). If the customers have any
problem, enquiry or complaint regarding the products and services provided to them, then they can ask
for help and their issues will be fixed with the minimum time possible for the employees of the airlines.
This will be because of the latest technologies and resources provided to them.

INCREASE IN WORK EFFICIENCY OF THE EMPLOYEES
The work efficiency of the employees will also increase because the employees are provided with the
fast processor computers and latest software’s installed in them. This helps a lot in better serving to the
customers. The flight status can be checked within few seconds and upcoming news regarding the flight
cancellation can be told to the customers very easily. The employees work efforts were also reduced
because of the high tech processors used in at the airport(Perry, J. and Mason, F.L., 2016).
MORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES
The Mojave Air and Space Port bought many job opportunities for the young fresh graduates of
the US. The Mojave Air and Space Port was considered to the best platform to start the career
by the students of the US. The reason behind this was that the employees comes to learn a lot
more about the travel and world’s best places where can start working and which will be
beneficial for their future. The employees get a lot to learn about the foreign culture and
languages which will helps them to interact and communicate with other countries people
easily.
EXCHANGE OF CULTURE
While working in at the airport, the employees learns a lot about the foreign culture and languages. The
employees daily interact with different customers who have different culture, language and
ethics(Long, A., 2017). Many times the customers understands only their mother language and they
are not able to speak in English, so the employees of the Mojave Air and Space Port should have the
knowledge of at least 5 different languages which are spoken across the world.
DISADVANTAGES OF USE OF METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH IN THE Mojave Air and Space
Port
The disadvantages of the methodology approach in the Mojave Air and Space Port are as follows:
Risk Factor is high
The risk factor is very high in the airlines sector. If the air plan had an accident the chances of
the recovery of the passengers travelling the flight are nil. Many times the dead bodies of the
passengers are also not found by their families.
Costly
The maintenance of the aircraft is very costly as compared with other travelling sources. The air
craft parts have very less manufacturers and they are not easily available in the market. If the
aircraft needs any repairing or replacement in the part of aircraft, the airline industry have to
pay a high amount for that repairing.
Small carrying capabilities
The carrying capacities of the airplane is very small. The bulky and heavy products cannot be
carried in the flight. The flight does not have the capacity like trains and busses and trucks.
Unreliable
The air travel is unreliable because of changing climate and weather in the atmosphere. Most of
the flights gets cancelled because of instability in the weather .

Huge Investment
The starting of an airport needs a huge amount of investment. The reason behind this is that the
maintenance and construction of the aerodromes needs a huge investment. The personnel’s
required to handle this should be highly skilled and experienced(Amar, P., 2017).
CONCLUSION
The report can be concluded by motioning all the leadership and management activities of the
Mojave Air and Space Port. The organizational culture of the airline sector is very much different from
other industries. The employees working here have to well known with all the cultures, ethics and
languages so that they can serve their customers with the best offerings and products. The airline
department has to take care about the customer’s needs and preferences within the airport. The
necessities which they may require while travelling from one place to another place. The staff of the
airport should be well trained and highly skilled so that they can deal with the different customers
smartly. There are various kinds of methodologies used in the improvement of employees working
efficiencies. These methodologies include the transparency among the employees of the organizations
and their roles, duties and responsibilities. This transparency is very essential in bringing the best out
from the employees of the organization. There many advantages and disadvantages of the Mojave Air
and Space Port which effected the business of the airport.
