Introduction
This report is based on selection and recruitment process of Gourmet Burger Kitchen which is
a UK-based restaurant chain. Along with that, documentation will be produced by the general
manager of the company. In addition, the general manager also will take part in the selection
process. On the other hand, the general manager of Gourmet Burger Kitchen will measure the
selection and recruitment process by own skills and abilities. Aside from that, various types of
leadership styles theories will be explained in this report. Along with this part, the difference
between leadership and management will also be explained through proper arguments and
justification. Moreover, the motivational theories will also be evaluated in order to examine the
talent of the general manager of Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Apart from that, the effectiveness of
the teamwork will also be discussed in this report in the light of the fact that conflict should be
reduced by an efficient leader. Additionally, the benefits of the teamwork are also evaluated in
this report. Besides that, assessment process to develop the execution or performance of the
employees will also be included in this report (Backhaus, Mell and Sabel, 2007).

1.1 prepare documentation to select and recruit a new member of staff
In order to achieve desired goals and objectives, Gourmet Burger Kitchen needs more efficient
workers, and the management appointed a general manager. In addition, the Board members are
planning to recruit and appoint employees to improve the effectiveness and productivity of the
organization. According to case scenario, Gourmet Burger Kitchen is dealing with twenty full-
time employees and achieving business objectives Gourmet Burger Kitchen needs to hire more
ten employees through the recruitment process (Dubois, 2004).
Apart from that, some essential documentation is required in order to select and recruit a new
member of the staff. In addition, the HR manager can effectively manage the recruitment and
selection process of an organization but in this case, the general manager has the responsibility to
appoint ten efficient employees in Gourmet Burger Kitchen. In addition, in the documentation
process, the general manager needs to mark the vacant place in Gourmet Burger Kitchen. In
other words, the general manger needs to check the background of the new member along with

on the other side, a manager know how to operate various operational activities inside an
organization. Along with that, an effective leader needs to deal with both management and

Kitchen includes highly qualified leaders who have decision-making power. Besides that, the

Gourmet Burger Kitchen took the initiative and bargain with the suppliers. According to
democratic leadership style, the manager made a negotiation with the suppliers and increased the
rate of raw material a little (Orsino, 2008).

motivate their employees. In addition, Maslow’s Hierarchy Need theory also includes some
factors like physiological needs, safety needs, social belonging, esteem, self-actualization and
self-transcendence. Moreover, with the help of Maslow’s motivational theory, Gourmet Burger
Kitchen can focus each need of their employees.

3.1 assess the benefits of team working for an organization
The team working includes lots of benefits which help an organization to meet desired goals and
objectives. The work pressure is reduced by an efficient team working, and the team leader can
recognize the working capability of each member of the team (Steinberg, 2006). On the other
hand, each team member might not have equal skills and ability, but each member of a team
must include some creative skill. Apart from that, an organization gets a huge benefit from a
teamwork in short deadline of assigned tasks. In addition, the productivity of a team is not
affected by the absence of one member, be that as it may, other people of the team could divide

the work load among them. Moreover, proper co-ordination is required between the team
members in order to improve the performance of team working.
On the other hand, the manager of Gourmet Burger Kitchen has a responsibility to access the
benefit of teamwork. Only a manager can build the good relation between employees and
encouraged them to work as the team. In the case of Gourmet Burger Kitchen, the manager can
allocate the specific table for serving food items to the customers by ten teams and each team
contains three team members (Wood, 2015). According to the case scenario, Gourmet Burger
Kitchen had twenty employees and recruited ten more employees. As a result, total number of
employees is thirty and Gourmet Burger Kitchen has ten service table which managed by the
team working. Moreover, the manager can assess high performance from a team working by
implementing reward strategy.
Problem Solving: with the help of individual team, the service related problems can be solved.
For example, the general manager can exchange the working hours between two employees.
