Introduction
Main objective of this report is to better understand the concept of leadership &
management in the service industry. Both play an essential role in effectively manging the
business operations and successfully achieving the goal of organisation. Leadership is consider
as an art of motivation a group of people towards the achievement of common goal (Al-Awlaqi
and et. al. 2021). It assist an organisation in enhancing the efficiency and productivity of their
employees and make them to successfully achieve the goal of company. While on the other hand
management of an organisation will assist them to effectively manage various function of
organisation and achieve the objective. For this report Savoy hotel is taking into consideration. It
is one of the Luxury hotel located in the city of Westminster in Landon, England founded in
1889 by Richard D’Oyly Carte. It was also have four restaurants, three bars with valet parking
and also provide many other facility. This report will include various classical management
theory and role of leader and various leadership style. Other than this it include the internal and
external factor which influence management style, soft & hard skills and various future skills of
management and leadership. It include comparison of various organisation change management
system & leadership in implementing change.

It refers to a management theory which is considered as an management style and based
on the belief that workers of an organisation are have physical and economical needs (Ali, Wu

sole governance in organisation, effective leadership and specialised task which assist an
organisation in maximizing their productivity at workplace. In context of Savoy hotel, various
classical management theories are discussed below:
Scientific management theory- This theory is developed by Frederick Taylor’s. Main
aim of this theory is to improve the economic efficiency and productivity of labour in an
organisation. Taylor state that for effectively achieve the mission of a particular task it is

hotel their leaders are responsible for ensure that their all employees will have sufficient

Innovation- It was the most important soft skill which is required from leader in every
organisation or in hospitality industry. It was analysis that with the fast and continuous change in
the environment of business it is very essential for service sector to innovate something new
which assist in achieving maximum profit. In context of selected business, their managers are
require to develop creativity and innovation skills in order to achieve competitive advantage in
market. Selected hotel will use various advanced technology and provide effective AI and VR
training to their employees in order to develop these skills (Miyake and Kato, 2021).
Language proficiency- It was analysis that the growth and profitability of hospitality
firms will depend on the international consumers or tourist. In context of selected company, their
managers will require to create a language proficiency about foreign language which is related to
the region with most travellers. Selected company will develop this skills in their managers or
employees by providing them foreign language training.
Leadership skills required by selected company-
Stress management skills- This skill will play an essential role for leaders as because of
increase in the stress level of leaders their productivity will reduce. In context of selected
company, they will develop this skill in their leaders with the help of organising mediation and
mindfulness programs (Mathe, and et. al. 2017).

From the above discussion on this report it is concluded that leadership and management
both will play an essential role in successfully achieving the goal of organisation. It was analysis
