INTRODUCTION
Management and leadership are most important part of of organisation as they help in
carrying of the functions and operations in most efficient manner. Main purpose of this report
is to understand the concept of leadership and theories in organisational context. Blue
incorporation retailing cloth industry headquartered in UK. Company deals in apparels and
fashion and is being located globally with large numbers of stores and employees around the
world. This report comprises of theories and perspectives of leadership as well as
management and evaluating the various leadership styles.
MAIN BODY
Identify key theories and perspectives of leadership and management within a range of
contexts and diverse environments.
Leadership is defined as process of influencing others decision to get the work done.
(Elihami,2017). In business sector and corporate world it is important to have an effective
leader who is able to manage and influence decisions so that goals or objectives are achieved
in proper manner. Management refers to administrative functions or set of principles which
are used to performs functions such as planning, organising controlling etc. to accomplish
organisational goals. In relevance with Blue Incorporation, they also so have leaders who is
this leadership theory and management theories according to the diverse environment so that
better results are achieved. The new normal situation is being considered as COVID-19
which is faced by both leaders and managers and according to which they played their role in
respective enterprises. Theories guides and directs company how to make decisions and
implement them effectively so that positive outcomes are achieved. So, these theories are
discussed below-
Situational theory- According to this leadership theory it states that there is no
particular best style for leadership which can be used by the leader as it depends upon the
situation. In reference with blue incorporation, they uses situational theory of leadership for
example they have been selling their own products under blue incorporation officers club and
twisted soul brand names but also under brands such as Adidas Polo Ralph Lauren and many
more (Ellis, 2018). This is because they haven't majorly shutting down their stores in many
locations which has affected the profit and margin of company at larger scale. This is the
reason leader of firm chooses this type of theory. Situation theory is being considered as one
of the best theory as it helps both leaders as well as entity to make decisions properly. During
this new normal situation of covid-19 era, this theory is highly recommended by leaders to
adapt so that diseases are carried out accordingly.
Transactional leadership theory- It is another theory which is used by blue in
corporation because this states that leaders of managers of a something in exchange to
employees other party with aim of completing the task on correct period of time. Moreover, it
is Windows error as beneficial for or given organisation because with the help of this they are

able to carry out their business properly. For example- leaders and manage of Blue
Incorporation offer perks and incentives to employees whenever work achievement it is done.
It also motivates others to work in cost effective manner. This kind of theory is less and
adopted by those organisation creative or innovation is being carried out in consistent
manner.
After understanding of leadership theories it is seen that management also uses
several theories to carry out objectives of enterprises. In context with chosen enterprise,
various management theories are being adopted which are explained below-
Contingency theory- According to this theory it states that the leadership style of
leader is contingent upon the occurrence of situations. In this, leaders to this right style and
people according to the situations. In relation with selected enterprise, management uses this
quantity theory as it assist them in analysing and examining both external and internal factors
which affect different type of situation within the company (Baron, 2017). Therefore, it is
used by management to examine all kind of situations affecting operations or functions.
Behaviour theory of management- Then another theory which is used by
management of blue incorporation is behaviour theory in which it specifies that
understanding and analysing the human relations movement or behaviour will leads to
achievement of better work efficiency or improve productivity which is beneficial for
organisation. Moreover, it also reflects that they have applied this theory within the
management for example they are changing their organisational structure after a brief
analysis of employee behaviour, expectations, faced conflicts, group dynamics.

behaviour and requirements. It is important for leader to use leadership styles so that
strategies and work can be carried out properly without facing any issues. So, in context with
Blue incorporation there are many different types of leadership styles which are being used
by leaders and are mentioned below-
Directive leadership style- This type of style states that leaders guides and direct
employees how when the work is needed to be done and completed. Also, they maintain a
formal relationship with their employees and others (Ashkanasy, 2017).
Supportive style- It is another style in which leaders are cooperative and supportive
in regards with employees work for example leaders of blue incorporation supports their
employee in both emotional and mental way so that it work is not being affected. It
encourages subordinates to work with motivation. With this covid-19 new normal situation, it
is essential for leaders to use this leadership style so that it is easier for all members of
enterprises to work in proper manner.
Participative- In this, leaders participative in every activities of organisation and
allows other or subordinates to participate independently in decision making process. By

using this, it is easy for companies to retain employees for longer period of time. The selected
enterprise need to use this style so that rate of employee retention reduces.
Achievement oriented- It is another type of style in which difficult and critical task
are being assigned and allotted to employees to determine the capabilities and skills of
subordinates. It is highly motivated theory of style which encourages others to work hard. In
context with given organisation they can use this theory of leadership which will help them to
analyse talented workforce within the business environment.

CONCLUSION
After a brief analysis of above report it has been concluded that management as well
as leadership both are base of the enterprise. So discussions have been made about theories of
leadership and management then evolution of leadership styles have been briefly explained. It
is being analysed that it is essential for organisation to be aware about both these concepts so
that decision making is carried out properly.
