Introduction
The essay helps in analyzing the reasons in which this has been seen that not many
people or individuals are successful in both management and leadership. I do not agree with
the respective statement as the different efficient leaders are the ones who can manage the
different activities in the organization in an efficient manner.
Anyone within the organizations has the potential to become a leader as the mangers
in the organization are responsible for planning, coordinating along with organizing the
various tasks along with activities in an efficient manner. Furthermore, in performing such
activities in the organization, this is essential to enhance the different kinds of leadership
skills which will be required (Williams et al. 2016).
Leaders and Managers are the Same
According to Mayo, Nohria and Rennella (2016), this has been analyzed that both
leaders and managers are the same and all the individuals have the capability to become
successful leaders and vice versa. Both managing and leading are the two various kinds of
roles which require different kinds of orientations along with skills and there are only few
individuals who are good in performing both the activities efficiently and appropriately.
However, Roos and Pike (2018), has commented and opined that it does not necessarily mean
that the managers cannot become successful leaders as well.
On the other hand, Dolan and Kawamura (2015), has opined that the person who is
the successful manager is the successful leader in the organization as they have tried in
transforming themselves as the leaders. The author has commented that the managers in the
organization needs to manage people and micromanage them as this is harmful for success of
the organization. In order to become a successful leader, this is essential for the managers to

manage the team by providing them with the autonomy to employees to perform in an
efficient manner.
Analysis of Managers Becoming Leaders and Vice-Versa
In order to become a successful leader or manager in the organization or at the
workplace, this is essential for the individual to trust the team members as this is the positive
sign of becoming successful leader. The providing of autonomy is the other concept which
can be used as this will increase the overall productivity and efficiency of the organization.
These are the different qualities of managers and leaders and this helps them in becoming
successful in the different approaches as well (Dolan and Kawamura 2015).
Furthermore, both leader and manager are the two different concepts, however they
both should be same person as these kinds of people are required who can manage and
control the team members or employees at the same time (Jones 2018). The managers of the
organizations are the successful leader as the main characteristics of the leaders are to
manage and guide the team members to help them in performing accurately and this needs
combination of competence and character as well (Stein 2016).
For instance- Bill Gates is one of the finest leaders along with manager of Microsoft
as he tried to understand the different problems which are being faced by the different
employees in the organization. Bill Gates has excellent communication skills and team
building spirit which helped him in analyzing the viewpoints of the different employees and
hence this improves that he is good manager as well as leader as well.
This is one of the most suitable examples wherein this has been seen and noticed that
managers and leaders can be the same person and the individuals can be successful in both
manners as well. For example- Jeff Bezos is the other example of good manager and leader

of Amazon as he tries to trust and provide autonomy to employees and this helps them in
performing more effectively and efficiently in the organization. He has experience and
knowledge on managing the different tasks and managing the different issues faced by
employees in the organization as well.
From these examples, this can be analyzed and identified that in order to become
successful leader and manager, this is essential in nature for the bringing in managing the
different employees working in the organization. Lastly, the diversity is being celebrated as
this is the duty of the manager or the leader to understand the different issues and help them
in solving the same in an efficient manner as well.
Conclusion
Therefore, this can be concluded that managers can be leaders and vice versa as in
order to become a successful manager, the leadership quality is essential and this helps in
managing the organization in an efficient and appropriate manner. There are few examples
which have been taken into consideration and examples have been provided which helped in
understanding that all the people have the capability to become both successful manager and
leader as well.
