INTRODUCTION
Management is the art to manage people and to utilise resources in such manner so that
company’s goal can be obtained. Leadership is that process of leading workforce to enhance
their working efficiency. Leaders and managers are the key players in organisation, they work to
enhance company’s performance and retaining talent in business u it for longer duration. Present
study is based on Tesco,
Tesco is having 6,800 stores with 450,000 employees working in organization. Revenue
generated by firm are £63,911 million as of 2019 (TESCO COMPANY PROFILE, 2019). Both
company are different in nature yet have a strong place for themselves in market. Report would
be covering roles of leaders and management in Tesla and Tesco. It will explain perspective of
managers and leaders in two different companies.
MAIN BODY
Role of Management
In Tesla role of manager is very limited, and they are bound to follow them. Manager of
Tesla plays role of monitor, as management ensures that each business activities are being
performed in systematic manner so that company can accomplish its objectives. Managers
closely monitor each activity and monitor whether business process is giving the expected results
or not. If overall output is not up to the mark, then managers make necessary changes in process
so that enterprise can generate more revenues.
Managers of the Tesla plays the role of decision makers. They find new ideas and makes
necessary decision for the growth of business unit. They find out the issues that currently
company is facing and finds new ways through which such problems can be resolved and make
final decision to implement that strategies so that enterprise can meet its goal successfully.
(Bush, Bell and Middlewood, 2019). Skilled employees with creative and innovative ideas are
being taken in firm so that management can make better decisions for company. (Spurgeon,
Clark and Ham, 2017).
Human relation theory explains that management must develops relationship with
employees at workplace. If each person has strong bonding, then they support each other and
always contribute well in achieving the company’s goal. Management of Tesco plays the role of
relationship builder; they find out the situation of employees whether they are happy or not.

build a friendly atmosphere which helps the Tesco in minimising conflicts at workplace.
Company is trying to create better relationship with customers, employees and suppliers of
company so that there is a better understanding and effective productivity in organization so that
objectives and goals can be met (Chen and Mason, 2018).
Managers of Tesco works as negotiator, many times conflicts take place in business. In
such condition management ensures that such kinds of issues do not affect working of business
and do not influence mind of other workers. Hence they conduct a meeting where management
negotiate with the involved persons to resolve that problem. This is the best way through which
managers of Tesco gain trust of other employees because they think that enterprise take care of
their problem and resolve it soon. Management must have right communication and relationship
with everyone so that they can make better decisions for organization and functioning of
business. Tesco works on feedback's they get from customers from time to time so that they can
make functioning of organization better. Tesco is improving quality of products all time so that
they can satisfy customers as much as possible (Klein, 2018).
