Situational theory: Morrisons adopt situational leadership theory in which leaders of
organisation selects appropriate leadership theory and course of actions as per specific situations
that help to deal with that critical situation efficiently. As Morrisons conducts its operations at
international level so, its leaders take decisions after analysing all situations and conditions to
handle situation in best possible manner. If organisation has knowledgable, skilled and
experienced leaders and it requires quick and effective decisions that organisation can choose
authoritarian leadership style that enables to take fast and efficient decisions according to
situation. Whereas in the situation when organisational employees are skilled than organisation
can apply democratic leadership style. The leadership style facilitates to take effective decisions
according to situations.
As proper implementation of leadership style in organisational operations facilitates
leaders to manage employees actions and improve their performance through motivating them
and provide various training and development opportunities (Harrison, 2018). Leaders guide
employees to work according to situation. Leaders analyse situations in various perspective than

Reflection
I am working in Morrisons organisation where I get various opportunity to learn new
things. In this organisation, I get opportunity to lead a project in which my seniors assign me
various responsibility. Seniors also give me freedom to select team members required to
complete this project. For this, I select people with different skills as some people who are good
in communication, while some has good technical knowledge. I select 10 members in
organisation in order to perform task assigned to us,. Before starting this project in company, I
divide whole work and asked team members to select work as per their preferences and interest.
In this situation, I adopt democratic style of leadership and provide freedom to team
members to give their opinion as it helps to increase chances of success in company. This
leadership style allow team members to actively participate in decision making process. For
completion of project, I include all team members in which they are freely express their views
and opinions (Komarov, and Aloyan,2017). Before starting this project, I was feeling little

nervous but at same time happy and responsible as my seniors trusted on mew and giving such
big responsibility. I also has fear in my minds of failure which make me more nervous but after
completion of this project, I was feeling happy and satisfied as we get desired results.
During this project, I develop various new skills including time management,
communication, interpersonal skills, managing work load and many more. To complete this
project before deadline , I made schedule for every activity which helps me and my team to
complete work on time. Due to some misunderstanding, we got delay in completion of one task
which create workload on team but we manage to handle that workload. Also I adopt Belbin
team model and other leadership like situational leadership which helps use for this project
(Shuck, Adelson, and Reio Jr, 2017).
While doing this, there is conflict occur in team due to miscommunication which create
problems for other members as they are not able to concentrate on their work. In this situation, I
meet both members included in conflict and provide solution to their problems which helps to
team to focus on their work. I also develop communication skills as this helps me to
communicate with team meters and also to provide explanation of description of this project to
seniors. In the end of project, we get success and my seniors are good with my performance. I
delegate success of project it my team which make team members of project more satisfied.
I have learned various new things while doings this project as I learned about different
style of leadership and their suitability for group members. I also learn to apply various
leadership theories and model which helps in handling team effectively. I developed new skills
which helps me in future period of time in order to handle team effectively and also manage
team work. I have learnt various skills throughout the my working experience that will help me
to complete my work in future properly (Rodd, 2020). In my future work if I get opportunity to
work with team than I concentrate on focusing on communication to clear all policies to other
members that make them able to perform efficiently towards achieving defined goals and
objectives.
