INTRODUCTION
In every business management play significant role through enterprise can achieve their
targets easily. Management and operations consist effective role through firm can increase their
profitability in the best manner to get maximum possible results. In this context, present report is
based on Toyota which leading automotive industry. Now as a newly appoint operational
assistant manger we will analysis the the differentiate in leadership and management on modern
world. Moreover, report also analysis roles of a good leadership functions of effective manager.
We also apply the different theories of leadership and their approaches and their uses in the
operations management.

Defines the role of management and leadership
Management determines a way which assist the organization for accomplish their goals
and targets in systematic manner. As compare to this, leadership demonstrate ability to make an
environment for every individual who giving their effective roles. And skills towards common
goals of firm. Leadership consist outcomes through business will from relation among leader and
management and their subordinates (Mendis, Muttaqi, and Perera, 2014. ) In Toyota leadership
way which helps to dealing with different situations of the industry with attainment of the goals.
However, management focus on the values and principles to make effective for the company.
Differentiate the characteristics of leader and a manager: In business world the leader and
manager are often used for the common persons. In reality leader and manager are two different
meanings. The basic difference of the leader and manager are as follows.
The nature of the mangers are reactive in nature. If a plan doesn't go to the right path the
mangers react to that news. While, the leadership is about more advance in nature,
anticipate the changes and confident that will overcome with the challenges. The
mangers of the Toyota are believe in minimizing the risks so that company can achieve
its goals. The leaders focus on the bring more risks through their talent people.
The main work of the mangers is to mange the staff (Bahmani-Firouzi and Azizipanah-
Abarghooee, 2014.). The company mangers assign the work in the group so the work

talent in their groups while, leaders take responsibility of every tasks of every individual
so team work spirit can be mange.
The leaders of the Toyota work on the how an employees of their team can become
leader for that they give training and resources to their team mates. They also focus to
give time to their employees to make and learn mistakes in their work. But as a managers
teams are fixed in nature so the communication gap can never take place and work can
done easily.

management is to the maintain the standards. In Toyota Leader and manger shared the same
goals that is to bring the fully utilize the organisation resources in the different situations. The
leaders focus on the bring the best use of the resources while mangers focus on the managing
those resources in operations management (NIE, WU, and CHEN, 2013.) The role of the leaders
and functions of the management in the operations management of the company regarding the
different theories.
Management by the objective: The management by objective is the process in which
specific objectives of the organization is define in the sequence. This process focus on the work
should be done in the step by step in the productive work environment. This process also help to
understand the employees the see their work accomplishment to achieve their objective. In the
company the leaders motivate their employees to achieve their goals within time. The leaders
and team members jointly identify the work and define the individuals responsibility towards
their goals. The functions of the mangers is to centralised by appointing a project mangers who
can monitor an control the different departments. The ensures the reliable management
information systems is develop within the different department in company.
Behavioural theory: The behavioural theory defines the human relations in a
organization. This theory based upon the that each employees who working in the organization is

an individual first so the company need to develop the resources and assets so the productivity on
the company can improved and employees should be treated like a human not a machines. The
role of the larders is focusing of the inner needs of the individuals and try to satisfy them by
motivating them and build good human relations. The company's leaders identify the individuals
potential and provide them training (Costa, ,Keane, and Corry, 2013). They listen their
problems try to find the best solutions for them so they can work in the company and provide
their best work to the organization. The mangers of the company organizing the work conditions
at work place and clarifying then work responsibility for everyone. The mangers of the company
is more tasks based and provide the rewards according to their works. The mangers ensure to that
work should be done according to the time and and appropriate behavioural response will be
receive on the every situations.
Contingency theory: The contingency theory claims that the company's course of action
is depend not on the the decision but also based on the internal and external situations (Wen, ,
Tsai, and Chang, 2014). Toyota understands this and apply its own style to the right situations.
The mangers of the company always provide open system to satisfy the internal need of the
company and adapt the external environment. Mangers understand that there is no best way to
organizing the best approaches is to selected for the environment in which you are dealing and
provide the correct management system in for the situations. The leaders of the company is
always try to reduces the internal contingency and develop and encouraging the employees to
take advantages of the external environment.

common leaderships for the single units or a single nations so the work allocation can be
done easily the productivity of the labour can be increases in the operations management.
Task oriented leadership: This is behavioural approach in which leader focuses on the tasks and
performance to meet the goals of the organization. The leaders on the company focus on the
getting the tasks and series of the tasks to achieve a goals (Gómez-Expósito, Conejo and
Cañizares, 2016). The company leaders apply the task oriented leadership in the operation
management improve the productivity and meet the deadlines. They put the work and role in the
structures of the organization and monitor progress within the team. This leaderships help the
company to meet the tasks on time and manage the time well in the organization.
Chaos theory: The chaos theory is a scientific theory which describing the unpredictability of
the systems. In the business world where the innovation change, competitive advantage and the
impact on the the strategy (Palizban, Kauhaniemi. and Guerrero, 2014.). The chaos theory focus
on the development of the organization. The leaders of the Toyota focus on the development of
the organization by the improving the quality of the products, the more quality of the products
the more customers satisfaction and utility increases. The leaders the company try to reduces the
complex systems environment and avoid the confusion related to the productivity and improved
