INTRODUCTION
Leaders and Managers are one who performs their task to accomplish the goals of an organisation.
Both of them plays significant role for the betterment of business. If any of the organisation want to
perform better within the market, then it is necessary that their leaders and managers must play supportive
role so that competition can be given to their rivalries. The organisation which has been selected for the
respective project is Uber which is one of the American based organisation. It was established in year
2009 by Garrett Camp. Various topics will be discussed such as skills required by manager within
workplace, importance of effectively managing and developing workers. Different theories will be
discussed and examined for the better result and also weaker management skill will be discussed.
SCENARIO
Uber is one of the multinational company where its headquarter is located in San Francisco, America.
Your organisation is facing problem related to leadership and management skills within the organisation.
The services which organisation provided by Uber is ride service healings, delivering food services and
many more. As competition is increasing day by day due to which the employees are shifting from one
organisation to another organisation for better growth (Bush, Bell and Middlewood, 2019). The
problem which organisation is facing is that the management is not working ethically which is decreasing
the market value of a company also they are unable to build better relationship in different part of the
world while enhancing the business. last but not the least companies also facing the problem that their
drivers are claim for mismanagement sexual harassment and unethical behavior with customers and many
more.

in any of the organisation manager have the crucial role to achieve the goals of an firm and they must be
skillful. managers must have the ability e to do planning motivating and also solving the problem which
arises within the company so that they can perform better for effective results. Some of the skills which
are required in the manager of Uber organisation is explained below:
Decision making skills: There are number of situation where condition are adverse for company
and in this situation better decision making skills are required in manager so that goals can be
accomplished. In case of Uber, number of customers who book the cab and next moment they cancel it so
in this situation it is necessary for manager to take effective decisions so that this sort of actions taken by
client doesn't create problem for drivers.

they must motivate their employees. It will help employees to deal with their customers easily and

thing in a systematic manner to satisfy every customer. They are required to manage that how customers

incentive, perks and many more (Hallinger, 2018). As external environment is changing day by day it is
necessary for Uber to set specific benchmark for their rivalries so that they can take competitive
advantage in current situation. Below, some of the issues are mentioned which are related with poor
management skills.
Less Productivity: As companies not able to meet out the needs and expectation of customers
within set period of time which is one of the negative effect for company. main reason behind
productivity is poor management for Uber ride sharing. because of lack of management skill goals and
objectives are unable to achieved in set period of time.
Less Revenue Generation: As everything is not managed in a systematic manner just because of
lack of management skill the performance of employees does not meet the specific criteria. Because of all

they provide to them. Companies charging different prices from different customers just because

have already banned Uber (Hallinger and Hammad, 2019). By looking at this, company have
planned and form different strategies to ensure that it all of the names are unrealistic and they are
charging fair amount of price from their customers.
Unethical Management: Although company like Uber have been providing their
services across the world but still they are facing different issues just because of unethical
management system. The driver of organisation working as per their needs and demands just
because they own their own cars. It is also one of the reason that company is unable to provide
the services which is required by their customers and desired output is unable to achieve. It has
reduced the profitability ratio of a company in huge amount (Baltaci and Balcı, 2017)
(McCaffery, 2018). To overcome this particular problem company found rules and regulation
where each and every driver must complete their service period for company to earn profit and
this is how company is able to provide better services to their customers
Driver Misconduct: Number of cases are found in Uber where their driver is not
behaving properly with their customers. They found in the case is acceleration. Discrimination
slang words which we are bears and many more. It is one of the reason that customers are not
willing to enjoy the ride with Uber cab service. In order to overcome this particular problem
company have framed policies in which driving will not be allowed in Uber as driver will be
terminated. Different penalties will be charged on employees who are found in this sort of
activities and this is how company can build their market position in future period of time.

based on four different principles of scientific management. The four different principles are

and employee must not think that they should work in in single form of style. They should be
innovative create new ideas so that their work can be completed in short period of time. In
context of Uber, it can be one of the beneficial principal to satisfy the need and wants of
customers (Kok and McDonald, 2017).

responsibility and decisions of own (Car, Kyaw and Atun, 2018). This types of responsibilities
are given to those employees of Uber who are highly experienced and mature to take decisions as
