influences others to accomplish the set targets'. He believes that if employees are happy, then it
would be easier to enhance the satisfaction level of the customers towards the functional
activities. A leader always emphasizes on working with coordination and takes the decisions by
consulting with the employees. It is the responsibility of the leaders to discuss the new ideas
with their employees as it helps in keeping the employees happy.
One of the major differences that take place between a leader and a manager is that
leaders always focus on considering the right decisions through which the right things can be
done but on the other hand a manager is concerned with implementing the actions that are right.
The leaders emphasize on vision, mission and goals while managers have the main aim of
boosting productivity and efficiency. In the workplace, the managers consider themselves as the
preservers of the status quo but the leaders always try to promote the change. The leaders in the
present era try to encourage creativity and take the risk that is beneficial for organizational
growth. The next difference is that the managers work with a short term perspective and the
leader's work by having a long term perspective. The basic role of a manager is to resolve the
issues so that employees can work easily but leaders focus on boosting the motivating level of
the employees with the objective of finding their own solutions.
It is evaluated that to achieve success in today's business world, leaders and managers
play an important role. Leaders and managers focus on controlling the routine operations of the
business with the aim of completing with proper efficiency. Leaders focus on the trait theory in
which they are honest and confident towards the decisions taken by them in the workplace. The
drive is one of the factors that relate to the efforts made by the leaders to attain success. The
leader always tries to make the changes to overcome the obstacles. Managers also have the
ability to take right and wrong decisions for the company that can help in attaining the set
targets.
