INTRODUCTION-
Leadership is the quality to control the situation, and also empowering the others into an
effective team. The leadership is the quality and the it will be manage by the Leader. The duty of the
leader is to boost up the confidence level of the team members, inspire them with the help of
strategies and the innovations and fill the members with the motivation to carry out the task, with
the mind set of achieving the goals with all care and values. The leadership quality is important to
everyone, even they are not the manager or the supervisor, these days in every applicant resume,
they mention their quality as a good leader, the interviewer got attracted because, in every
organisation there is a need of such applicant who have the leadership quality. If someone, has the
leadership quality then, that person can manage the life in a systematic manner which, give success
in the life(Bottomley, 2018). The quality of leadership means, managing the people and able to
take initiative, able to foreseen plan, knowledgeable and have people who follow the leader
command. In this essay, the importance of the leadership will get discuss and how the leadership
quality manage the millennial generation shall also discuss below.
Main Body-
Being a quality leader, it requires the understanding that to whom the leadership will be
shown. Nowadays, workforce comprises of many generations and they have their own preference
about how they like to be managed. In the world, millennials are the largest generation in the
workforce. The millennials have the better style of leadership than the traditional they challenged.
They believe that, they have better values and expectations from their leaders. In the millennials
style of leadership they preferred better communication, relationship- building and the
empowerment. These are the key components of the millennials leadership style(Willie Burgess,
2018).
What Millennials in their Leader-
There are few demands of the millennials that, they want in the leadership;
Mission based role assignment- the first want of the millennials in the leadership is, they want that
assignment which give some motive to the team. If there is a motive behind the work it will give a
reason to the team members to perform with their best ability. The given work have to look like a
mission, if that mission got complete on time and with efficient use of resources then only the good
leadership can be seen(Carter, 2018).
Acceptance of life outside of work- the leadership is a concept where some work has been allotted
to the team by their leader, it means any workplace. There is no leader of an individual life,
leadership occur only when some task has been given otherwise, to spend the life or outside the
work the people wants to be leader of their own life. Leadership allow the members to have a
separate life outside the work, where they will not get judged by any leader.
Thinking towards an individual not a group- the millennials want that their leader will give
attention to each and every individual member of the team-working, and not to run the leadership
with the point of view as a team(Walker III, 2018). They believe that, if the attention is given to the
whole team-working then, not every member of the team will give best in a task. But, if the
attention is shown to the every individual of a team then, it will be beneficial for the organisation
and also it will encourage each member of the team and the organisation(Faller, 2019).
Encouragement to perform that work greater then themselves- not every generation has the
same desire, the millennials wants to perform that work in the leadership which will give them
growth in their life, and which they think, its hard to achieve. They main purpose of the leadership
is same, to provide the energy which helps the members of the team to achieve success in that task

which is really hard to achieve without the better leadership.
The main want of the millennials is to have the life changing purpose, for which they are
ready to perform the task. They just want a good leader who look at every individual and give the
purpose behind the task which is beneficial for their personal life(Gogek, 2019) .
Leadership style of the Millennials-
It is not enough to lead the members, it is also necessary to analyze that, what the millennials desire
about the leader. The motive behind this is, to differentiate the traditional leader to the millennial.
There are certain style which have to adapt to manage the millennials generation.
Millennials wants to speak out- in the traditional system of the leadership, there is no point of
listening the members, the traditional leaders maintain the organisation by way of doing things but,
the millennials wants to speak out in the situation of the dissatisfaction and challenge the old pattern
of performing the task. Like, the modern organizations uses modern ways of communication instead
of formal emails, letters etc.(Oc, 2018).
Millennials prefer the teamwork approach- the millennials approach of the leadership need to
build the relationship. The leaders of the Millennials prefer to use the team approach over the
individualistic approach, to achieve the desire goals of the organizations. The leader of the
millennials pursue the opinions of the the team before making any decision's.
As a Millennial leaders seek purpose and fulfilment- the individual values and the goals are the
key factors of the millennial leadership. Millennials leader provide the facility of work from home,
perceiving that the employee's can take care of their families and also meet with the need of an
organisation. Now, video conferencing is the option where the employee can work away from the
workplace(Putriastuti, 2019).
When the millennials seek to become the leader themselves, they want certain changes in the
style of the leadership. The millennials didn't like the traditional style of the leadership. They were
caused some disruption to the traditional leadership. There are seven changes that the millennials
wants to influence in the today leadership.
Willingness to leave when leadership doesn't meet the standards. If the millennials don't believe
in the leadership that, it doesn't meet with their expectations and needs. They desire to leave the
leadership. Its look like very simple but, it is very powerful. The millennials are ready to leave the
leadership than the traditional generation.
Millennials have different need regarding the leadership training- The Millennials who are
interested in the leadership but not aware about its strength and weakness, they also want to aware
about the skills to improve. In the survey, it comes out that the millennials leaders prefers to
develop their skills through training(Stasi, 2019).
Millennials follows flat management structure- They follow the structure for the reason that, they
don't like the idea of having the various layers of the management in order to perform their work.
Millennials value their leaders-They like to work in that environment in which their leader value
their feedback from all the employee's. They don't believe in thoughts and the experiences in
management should be the only factors in the organisation for the decision's making.
They leave when the policy is in against- The millennials obey all the policies, they know hoe to
perform the work regarding the policies which are useful for the organisation. But, if the policies

are not making any sense to them, they will be ready to challenge those policies. The millennials are
more willing than the traditional to inquire the policies and if the policy doesn't make any sense
than, they are ready to make changes in the policy because, as an employee they have high
expectation from their leaders to check the policies or don't follow those policy which don't add
value(Vecchiotti, 2018).
As a leader millennials wants to transform- The millennials enjoy the decision making power to
support the customer and helps the organisation to grow, and they also believe to modify the
policies for the welfare of the employee's and for the growth of the organisation.
They desire support and the balance work life- The leaders or the members like to perform in the
workplace where there is flexible timing hours. They know the value of their love ones, they care
for themselves. They believe that the work life should be balance, it is good for the health and also
it gives the happiness.
These are some changes or the modification which the millennials want in the workplace.
They don't want to follow the traditional style of leadership. They believe that the leadership is an
art which should be regulate to give relief to all the members and to the leaders also(Goodwin,
2019).
CONCLUSION
In the above essay the important of the leadership got discuss. The millennials leadership
would explain above which concluded that, the it doesn't make any sense to follow the traditional
style of the leadership. In the traditional style of leadership there are some deficiencies, which need
to remove in the Millennials style of leadership. The millennials have different mind set then the
previous generation, they won't allow those policies which are not fulfilling the purpose of an
individual in a team and which are not useful for the organisation.
