A) INTRODUCTION
Overview of the topic
Leadership is an art of motivating group of the people to act towards attaining common aim.
It can mean directing the colleagues and workers with strategy in order to meet requirements of
company effectively. Poor leaders are identified through their lack of capacity to give input to
team, that may come out of their own lack of ambition. Setting reasonable goals prohibits staff
from learning what they truly have to deliver. The poor skills of a leader develop negative impact
on the team members and their performance. Mismanagement is related to not to managing the
activities and operations at workplace in an effective manner (Hines, 2014). Poor leadership
skills and mismanagement both impact negatively on performance level of business. Bad
leadership cannot come through individual management but from the culture of the organisation.
A manager is unable to pull out best of workers if upper management doesn't have the tools to
compensate, value and motivate employees. Under control of poor leaders and managers, bad
leadership is costly, employee productivity decreases and employees are less dedicated to the
organisation and its task, which appears to lead to lower-quality jobs and slower doing of things.

organisation or group of individuals to obtain a substantial understanding detailed analysis about
the concept of poor leadership skills and mismanagement and in which manner it impact on
performance of company. The investigator 's main purpose of carrying out this investigation, to
investigate own abilities and expertise in regards to this defined field to improve personal and
technical expertise that will be capable of achieving success in future. This study is primarily
considered to provide an important idea of an individual that focus on improving the skills of

Research paradigm
This is set of the common agreements and belief’s shared among researchers. It is related
how the issues should be addresses and understood effectively. There are interpretivism and
positivism are two different research paradigm.
Justification: In conducting the present investigation, there will be positivism research
philosophy used because it is based on the quantitative research philosophy. It provides
viewpoints and analyse of the different authors effectively.
Methodological approach
The research approach is regarded as mechanism that has wider inference measures for a
systematic system relevant to data processing and selection along with explanation. The
approach to research has also been categorised into different forms such as deductive and
inductive.
Justification: Deductive research approach has been used as it begins with social theory
which they search compelling and test implications with the data. This research approach moves
from genera level to more particular one. It is one that people associate with scientific research
(Shapira, 2017).
Research Methods
The research method is primarily categorised into three major forms or components
comprising of qualitative, quantitative or mixed research methods by which the use and
implication of the quantitative form of research method is more justifiable and fitting as it
ensures a simpler and more effective way to gather and convey information in numerical terms.
Justification: There will be quantitative research method used as it provides the appropriate
facts and figures. This emphasize the objective measurements and mathematical, numerical and
statistical analysis of the data collected by use of survey.
Research techniques
There will be survey research technique used. It is survey is list of the questions aimed at
extracting the particular data from specific group of the people. Surveys are mainly used to
enhance the knowledge in area (Tsatsu, 2016).

Data collection methods
Usage of both secondary and also primary set of sources of data is made for research work
to provide both first-hand data through primary sources alongside help from previous researches
which includes parts of secondary areas of information. Primary data for investigation is
gathered with aid of a questionnaire which will consist of close ended questions. In addition,
with the help of online papers and journals to provide support, the secondary data will be used.
For conducting the literature review part to attain objectives, secondary method will be used.
Sample size
There is effectively two-type sampling, i.e. probability and non-probability, from which
the use sampling technique is enabled with the present inquiry as it reduces chances of bias in the
collection of observations from a large population. For gathering of the primary data using
random sampling methods, sample size of 40 respondents are chosen.
Target populations
There are 40 respondents chosen with the help of random sampling method. The chosen
respondents are employees of PDVSA organisation as they are aware about the behaviours and
skills of the leader and also about the mismanagement (Wang and Sedivy‐Benton, 2016).
Data analysis
Thematic analysis technique would be used to evaluate the gathered collection of
quantitative knowledge collected by the use of frequency pie chart in the questionnaire. In
comparison, a comprehensive literature analysis can be used to evaluate secondary data forms.
The explanation for using the quantitative method of data analysis is that by using the statistical
table and pie charts this contributes to a more measurable form of findings and ends with a more
efficient and clearer display of facts and figures.
Access and ethics
For collection of information, research should have the proper access. Without the proper
access, it is unethical to collection of information. On the other hand, ethics is related to the
norms, morals and values for conducting an investigation effectively. It is the duty of an
investigator to follow all the ethical considerations while conducting an investigation such as
informed consent, anonymity, disclosure to participants, privacy to data, confidentiality and
others. Researcher should assure that the information of participants should not be leaked or
disclose without their permission (Zineldin, 2017).

Limitations of chosen strategy
There has been survey used as a chosen strategy. The limitation of this strategy is that
minimum priority to carrying a survey due to competing the urgent tasks. It is prone to an
investigator error where assumption is mainly made regarding sample which may not accurate.
In regards to this, survey fatigue could be lead to the response bias. Respondents may be skip the
answers in middle of survey.
