INTRODUCTION
Nursing leadership can be defined as the process of influencing others so that high quality
of care can be provided to individuals, along with direct participation in clinical care. Nursing
leadership includes and works in an environment which has clear vision and also the staff
members are skilled so that better services can be provided to patients. The role of leadership
in nursing is really important as this will assist in enhancing patient’s safety and also it assists in
enhancing patient’s health and well-being. Present report will lay emphasis on role of
registered nurse in prioritising care and delegation of task. It will also provide details related to
application of NMBA registered nursing standards for providing safe and quality care.

graduation and leading or supervision Casey Aged Care Home. Since, for leading and
supervising it is very essential to incorporate the essence of leadership in the working. As Mr
Scott is having a charge of duty of Easter which is a national holiday. So for performing the task
it is very essential that proper synchronization of activities has to be done. This means, on the
Easter situation of emergency has come where Mr Davis was affected from the symptom of
dementia and found unsettled. In order to deal with that Mr Scott, have to appoint a
permanent nurse and one second year nursing student so that continuous monitoring of the
situation will be possible. Likewise, in order to meet the daily routine activities including giving
of showers, serving meals, performing medication, monitoring insulin, serving breakfast and
lunch on time, Mr Scott can delegate the duties to one second year nursing student and 2
personal care workers so that routine work will not being affected and it will be performed
smoothly. As Easter is a national holiday so in order to meet the emergency situation regarding
Mrs Merkel who was in room 13 and having a history of UTI out of eight personal care workers
1 personal care work will be assigned so that not only the situation will be managed but further
occurrence of emergency will also be protected.
