Leadership Skills in Project Management
Successful Project Managers are the ones who are capable of implementing strong
skills in managerial roles as well as plays the role of an effective leader. The project
management professionals have become strictly professional in their approach and are thus
more technologically advanced and have been successful in the proper formulation and
implementation of the different kinds of the project management tools and techniques. The
leadership skills in the management of the project is extremely important as because it helps
to define the standard of the project and also helps them to apply the best possible knowledge
and skills that helps in the proper completion of a particular project undertaken by the
management.
According to, Moffat and Crichton (2015) the managers who are appointed to manage
the project generally starts with the motivation and the inspiration of the different kinds of the
teams. Apart from this the leadership skills include the likes of the negotiating,
communicating and the influence of the different kinds of the skills in a proper and effective
manner. The project managers are also tasked with the application of the proper skills in
order to influence the employees involved in a project. The presence of the most effective and
constructive leaders are helpful for the success of a project. The effective leaders are capable
of applying the most effective solutions at the most appropriate time which tends to be crucial
for the success of the business organization (Ramazani and Jergeas 2015). Therefore it can be
said, that the presence of the leadership skills has a positive impact on the outcome of the
project management.
Leadership skills in oil and Gas Industry
Working in the oil and gas industry is a great challenge for the different kinds of the
employees. The projects carried out by the oil and gas industries are generally very critical
and complex in nature and needs to ensure success in a proper and efficient manner. The

managers must provide extra focus on safety as well as proper business productivity. Safety
is one of the most important element that is considered by the project managers in order to
ensure the success of the organization. The imperative to produce oil and gas in a safe
environment is utmost important in the new globalized work environment. Most of the
business organizations involved in the oil and gas industry does not provide a clear sense on
the proper skill to handle and operations of the oil and gas industries (Muller and Turner
2017). The project managers are always required to keep a tab on each of the tasks that are
generally undertaken in a project in order to ensure the safety of the employees and also to
ensure the positive success of the project. According to, Pranesh et al. (2017) the project
managers generally focus on the alignment of the business organization and have the
capability to link the strategic vision of the company to the tasks or operations undertaken in
the projects. Therefore it can be said that the project managers have a great responsibility to
complete the projects undertaken in the oil and gas industry.
