I. Introduction
A. In many companies, one of the many areas that have been neglected is orienting
staff into their new workplaces. Due to the current labor crunch, it is important to develop an
employee experience that is effective. If properly formulated, such an orientation has the benefits
of enhancing retention (Dusek, Ruppel, Yurova and Clarke, 2014, pp.87). Without orientation,
an employee may feel uncomfortable in their new positions, and may take time reaching their
full potential.
B. Thesis Statement: employee orientation is important because it reduces anxiety,
reduces employee turnover, and assists in developing job expectations, job satisfaction, and
realistic job expectations (Kim, Chai, Kim and Park, 2015, pp.485).
II. Body
A. Anxiety
1. Provides the guides for behavior
2. Provides guidelines for conduct
3. Enhances the employees’ confidence
