INTRODUCTION
The development of the individual can be ensured by self improvement by creating self awareness
that can further bring work life balance. The students has to improve skills as this will enable them
to perform better both academically as well as professionally (Kot, 2017). Also it will develop
ability within them to manage various situations and to accomplish their desired goals and
objectives. In this report a reflection is written on group presentation in context of how it improved
the ability to manage the situation faced in team work during the course undertaken. On the basis of
such reflection the area which has to be improved is identified and accordingly an action plan is
developed.
MAIN BODY
1) Reflect on your performance in the group presentation
For ensuring the success an individual need to look upon the activities that they have
undertaken as well as the ways in which they have achieved the desired outcomes as this enables to
identify the areas of improvement. At the time of preparing for the success a students must
emphasis upon various activities which they were part of because with this they can determine both
their strengths and weaknesses that can be improved for efficiently accomplishing the overall
objectives. During my graduation course I participated in various activities with the help of which
different situation can be managed efficiently in context of academics and profession both. In
addition to this I have participated in various extra-curricular activities with which interaction and
communication capabilities were enhanced along with this my confidence level was also improved.
I have learnt that customer behaviour is an important aspect for any organization to take into
consideration if it wants to be successful. This is because by taking into account the behaviour of
customers while making a purchase can help them in satisfying their needs in an effective manner.
It was interesting to learn that customers can significantly impact the business operations of an
organization.
In the third semester we had to participate in a group activity for which the group was
divided by the teacher and on the basis of this assignment the presentation is to be provided before
the class upon completion of the activity (Mejia, 2016). For completing the activity we has to gather
both primary data as well as secondary data on the basis of which various analysis will be done for
the organisation involved within the activity. The activity has to be completed within the group of
seven which was decided by the teacher and we were placed in such a manner that no friend fall in
the same group. Due to this all the participants were known to me but we did not better

understanding with each other. The topic which was given for completing the activity was related
with behaviour of the customer to be considered at the time launching of the product and services.
According to the topic plans were formulated for the activity and we identified various tasks that we
have to take into consideration and on the basis of this all the roles and responsibility to each of the
participant were distributed so that the chances of chaos and confusion can be reduced. We divided
the the assignment into small tasks that helped us in completing the work well in time. I learnt that
customers' buying behaviour differ from each other and organizations should conduct a market
research so that they can observe the buying decisions of the customers. But the entire activity was
classified into different stages so that they accomplishment of the desired outcomes can be ensured
on time. To gather the primary data we prepared the questionnaire on the basis of which the
opinions of the consumers were gathered through direct interaction with them. We mutually
prepared the questionnaire from and then gathered the data directly from the consumers. The
responses of the customers were then analysed in such a manner that the influence on the decision
making of the company can be identified. My responsibility was to identify the theme for
classifying the analysis of the responses of the customers. Further I has to prepare a power point
presentation with the help of other three team mates so that findings can be presented in front of the
class and panel efficiently.
On each and every stage of the activity I had to perform different roles and responsibilities
due to which I faced various challenges and issues. Also I realised that I have some areas as my
strengths on which I need to emphasis upon along with the need of improvement on the
weaknesses.
What have you learnt?
This activity enabled me to learn that when any activity is performed in team then the
objectives can be achieved efficiently by considering the contribution of the each and every
member. In addition to I learnt various factors that I need to consider while preparing the
questionnaire so that relevant information can be gathered regrading the topic.
What new information has been presented?
The activity was related with analysis of the behaviour of the consumer in context of the
launch of cosmetics. On the basis of this it was identified that along with the taste and preference,
customers also considers types of ingredients used in the products as they motivates them to make
purchases for the same.
What was interesting?
We prepared questionnaire and on the basis of which we took responses from the customers
which enabled us to determine the factors that affect their purchase decision (Grossman, 2019). This
activity was quite exciting along with the preparation of the power point presentation as I had never

prepared it before. During the time I faced various technical issues related with preparation of the
presentation I my understanding of the features of power point were not so very strong.
How might you use the new information?
With the help of data so gathered the analysis is done in themes due to which the analysis of
the activities can be done efficiently as well as the finding can be presented in an understandable
format. The classification of the data in themes was new concepts that we used and but I faced
various issues in developing such themes. The new informations that I have learnt, I will try to
implement in any assignment in the project. I got an opportunity to learn about customer behaviour
in much more depth and the experience was very knowledgeable for me.
What did you not fully understand or confused you, and what did you do about it?
We faced issues with some of the responses as they could not be placed under the theme so
prepared as the responses of the customers were not as per the specific area of concern. Further I
got confused in context of the selection of the method with the help of which we can undertake the
research efficiently and gather as much information as we can. To manage the issue I identified the
possible problems that are faced by the company and on the basis of which the questions were
formulated for the questionnaire.
2) Elaborate on the areas that you need to develop further
For the students it is important that they efficiently perform their role while undertaking any
activity but they have to take into consideration the areas where they faces issues because they need
to develop various skills accordingly. In the first stage of the group presentation I realised that I
need to emphasis of team management skills as we were not able to decide the questions to be
included in the questionnaire due to lack of understanding. With such skills I could ensure the level
of motivation of all the team members and also a better questionnaire could be developed with
better ability of analysing the perception of the people (Brinkmann, 2017). In addition to this
effective team management ability will make others comfortable with me with the help of which I
can help them whenever they will face any issues and I can also share the issued that I faced.
Besides this, I also think that I should work on my existing presentation skills because my team
members gave me a feedback saying that I was not prepared completely for giving the presentation
and also lacked confidence.
Apart from this another problem which I realised was lack of communication and due to this
the completion of the task on the assigned time limit was not possible. This affect the overall
performance and lead to chaos which made me realised that I need to improve my communication
skills so that efficiency in accomplishment of the activity can be ensured. Therefore, I have to
improve my communication skills so that I can deliver a presentati0on much more efficiently and

gain the attention of the audience. In addition to this I have to focus upon my technical skills as I
faced difficulty in preparing the presentation. For this I need to take various online sessions as well
as guidance from the teachers and others who has better understanding of this. By focussing upon
all these skills I can ensure that ability to manage success in both academics and career can be
ensured as I will be able to manage with different situation in a much better way. There are a lot of
sources from where the information about a particular topic can be gathered. I should work on my
research skills so that I am able to gain a better understanding of the topic and thus, use the
knowledge gained more effectively.
3) Develop an action plan
Personal development plan is undertaken as an action plan as it is developed by an individual which
is based on prominent strengths, weaknesses, reflections and goals as by this self improvement and
development is done by individual itself. It is essential considering the skills, traits and features for
the self assessment that are helpful in analysing the prominent areas in which improvement is
possible and it is done with the help of proper development of individuals. Hence, action plan is
helpful in terms of making skills effective for a person and also tends to apply for the higher
education in order to increase the employability skills to get select in company. Therefore, this plan
is useful regarding the development of individual undertaking the personal and professional level
which is important for achieving success (Specht, 2017). The respective PDP is helpful enhancing

academic and professional skills as with the help of this they can ensure their success. With the help
of reflection on the activities that has been performed by them the areas of improvement can be
identified for which an action plan can be developed. This will facilitate the students in developing
such skills and ensuring their success both in academic and at professional level.
