INTRODUCTION
Leadership is defined as the ability of an individual or group to have an influence on
their followers in order to improve their performance. A leader is an individual which promotes
and motivated their team members to increase their productivity and achieve their personal and
professional goals. A positive leadership style is important to provide the employees with better
development opportunities. It is crucial for them to improve their contributions towards the
organizational aims and objectives and enhance their overall performance. The current report
will analyse the overview of leadership, its global perspective, contemporary leadership and
different ethical considerations.
LEADERSHIP OVERVIEW
a. Context as a leader, responsibilities, end goal
I have acted as a leader in my previous organization where I had a role of team leader
managing a group of employees. This role has been helpful for me to develop better
understanding of the leadership role and engage the employees towards the overall aims and
objectives of the organization. I had a responsibility to motivate them and measure their
performance in order to give relevant and appropriate feedbacks for their progress (Al-Malki, &
Juan, 2018). I was leading a bunch of new employees that has less experience in the industry and
were keen to gain knowledge for developing better practices. I was required to train them and
improve their understanding about the work that have to perform in the organizations and the
different aspects which are crucial for their overall development. The end goal was to improve
their skills and provide the organization with trained employees for enhancing its productivity
and gain better competitive advantage in the industry. This leadership role was effective in order

to increase my leadership and management skills which has provided me with a better idea to
develop opportunities in the work environment.
b. Own leadership style, personal characteristics
I have applied the transformational style of leadership for identifying the individual
strengths and weaknesses of the employees and providing them with a better approach to conduct
their work practices. I prepared appropriate strategies on the basis of my knowledge of these
candidates and set short term goals for them to achieve. This was beneficial for me to increase
their learning ability and develop their skills effectively (Daniëls, Hondeghem & Dochy, 2019).
The transformational leadership is related with my normal personality as I tend to always help
and support my peers who need the required assistance for growth. This leadership style has a
positive impact on the employees and was beneficial to motivate them by constant push and
support towards the organizational aims and objectives effectively. I have a supportive nature
towards people which has a major reason for adopting this leadership style.
c. Leadership style with different theories and concepts
The relationship theory of leadership explains the connections between a leader and the
followers which is helpful in achieving objectives effectively. Transformational leaders are
highly focused on the performance of their team members and provide them with consistent
support and motivation in order to develop an effective relation with them. This is helpful in
increasing their individual potential and achieving higher quality of output in their job role. This
theory provides a better understanding of the efforts which are put by transformational leaders to
enhance the outcome and produce an effective image of the business in the society. They follow
their moral values and treat the employees as peers which are to be take care of.

GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
a. Changes in leadership style according to the global workforce
The transformational style of leadership may require some changes according the
organizational culture as it may sometimes create pressure on the employees to achieve the
targets. The additional responsibility on the team members may not be suitable for some
employees which can have a negative impact on their productivity (Elkhwesky & et.al., 2022).
This situation may lead to their burnout which can create issues in the management to operate
successfully. The global workforce may not be able to cooperate with this style as the delegation
of authority is not suitable for all types of employees.
b. Skills and behaviours needed to develop cultural mindset
In order to develop a cultural mindset, I will need to have an unbiased behaviour towards
employees from different backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities. It will be beneficial to control
the conflicts and manage the work smoothly in the organization. I have to first gain full
knowledge about my own culture and identify the major values which are reflected by the
organization. It will increase my awareness about the way these situations can be handled in
order to achieve better output (Tenuto, & Gardiner, 2018). Flexibility is an effective trait which
can help me to adapt to this situation and manage people from varied backgrounds in the global
business environment. Developing an understanding of the different cultures of various countries
and backgrounds from where these employees can also enhance my awareness about their
appropriate management.
c. Impact of background or culture on leadership style
I come from a humble background which has provided me with positive values and
beliefs in order to achieve better success and have kindness and support towards people. The

cultural significance plays a vital role in the business as it has improved my understanding of
behaving properly with the employees and build better relationships. A positive working
environment is ideal to achieve better development opportunities and gain competitive advantage
in the industry (Gardner & et.al., 2020). The culture of the organization that I was working for
was helpful for the employees and it had a major impact on their overall development and
practices. Uit has impacted my leadership style in a positive way and have provided me with a
better competitive advantage in the industry.
d. Relevant theories and concepts
The participative theory of leadership explains that a perfect leader may give the due
respect and importance to their employees which is useful in order to increase their engagement
towards the organizational aims and objectives. It can help the members related and help in
improving the morale which is helpful in adjusting in culturally different organizations. This
theory may explain that the inputs from people of different cultures and backgrounds may
enhance the decision making process of the business and help the employees to increase their
contribution.
CONTEMPORARY LEADERSHIP
a. Contemporary leadership styles, skills, behaviours to be considered in the changing
business environment
The transactional leadership style is considered as a suitable approach for the new
business organizations. It helps in providing rewards and appraisals to employees on the basis of
their contributions to the business which is ideal in the new business environment. The servant
leadership style is another effective approach which helps in prioritizing the needs of employees
and provide them with better assistance for their personal and professional development. It has a

positive impact on the performance of employees on the dynamic global industry. My positive
behaviour towards the employees is necessary in order to maintain their engagement in the work
(Lord & et.al., 2020). I will provide the employees with the desired feedbacks which can help
them to identify their weaknesses and make the required changes in their approach in order to
gain benefit in today's ever changing business environment. .
b. Significant change for leading the workplace appropriately, tools used to lead change,
communicating vision
I might make effective changes in the current working place in order to enhance the
experience of employees and provide them with better assistance. I will try to introduce
technological changes in the business environment that is helpful in order to improve
organizational framework. It is crucial for introducing new and innovative technological tools for
the employees which will improve their communication and connectivity. I will introduce
employee management tools in the organization in order to manage all the employees and
monitor their performance (Zhang & et.al., 2022). It will be beneficial to improve their
commitment towards the business and increase their personal and professional skills. This
change will be communicated to the employees by providing them with the benefits of these
systems and the effect it has on the success of the organization. A positive culture will be
promoted by these changes as the customers will be able to make effective changes in their
approach towards the business practices.
ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
a. Impact of ethics on current leadership roles and practices
Business ethics have a major impact on the current leadership role and practices of the
business as an ethical leader can have a better image among the employees which helps in

motivating them. The respect and guidance that is given by me to the employees plays the vital
role in gaining their trust towards the business practices. I am an ethical leader who tries to

adopt this theory in the organization an increase the employee commitment towards the
organizational goals (Scott & et.al., 2018). The decision making process of the business may be
improved with the help of an ethical leadership theory like the participative theory. It can create
a positive working environment for the employees where they are able to grow and enhance their
productivity. These activities are crucial in order to establish ethical practices in the business and
improve the satisfaction levels of the employees.
c. Ethical principles considered as important in the leadership role
The ethical leadership principles such as respect is crucial to adapt in the organization as
it is the primary need of an employee whether at a higher or lower level. Providing employees

with due acknowledgement in order to increase their self confidence and belief towards
performing their role. This principle is effective for promoting the employees to work towards
the organizational goals with their full potential. Another principle is justice which is crucial in a
business environment for providing equal opportunities to each and every employee and gain
their trust. The equal treatment with every employee is crucial to enhance the organizational
framework and improve their morale in the organization (Sousa, & Rocha, 2019). Honesty is the
last but most important principle that will be adopted by me in the organization in order to be
transparent and truthful towards the employees. It is necessary to be honest with the employees
for performing the ethical business practices of the organization. These ethical practices will be
considered by me for building better relationships with the employees and providing a hostile
working environment to them.
CONCLUSION
According to the above report it has been concluded that leadership has been beneficial
for the organization in order to motivate their employees and improve their engagement towards
the organizational goals. A positive leadership style is helpful for organizations to improve the
interest of employees in the decision making process of the business and develop a higher quality
of output. With the help of better leadership approach a leader can manage employees from
different backgrounds and cultures and enhance organizational productivity in the industry.
Ethical principles have been useful in order to develop a positive business framework and
increase the sustainability of company in the competitive environment.
