Part A: Summary of group presentation
The group presentation has covered various topics that are related to the leadership through
which the characteristics and skills required in the leader has been analysed. The presentation has
also discussed that leadership shows the behaviour of an individual through which leaders
provide proper guidance and direction to their team members. The presentation has also
discussed that leadership skill in the leader help the organisation to achieve the set target
effectively. Some of the leadership approaches have also discussed in the presentation along with
its importance in organisational success (Armstrong, 2016). Further report has discussed that
there are mainly five personality traits related to the leadership which need to be carried by the
leaders of the organisation. Openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and
emotional stability are key traits of leadership through which leader manage their team
performance and motivate their members towards the organisational goals. Further, some of the
leadership skills have also discussed through which leaders can act in the right manner and
handle their responsibilities.
Katz model and its importance in the leadership has also discussed which shows that a successful
leader needs to have the quality of skills about the concepts through which they can adequately
visualise the performance of the organisation as a whole. Further report has discussed some
leadership styles that are contained by the leaders. Lewin’s leadership styles are also defined in
the presentation which covers that this is the style which includes the three leadership styles
categories and it also helps to demonstrate the leadership changes that are required as the
structure of the organisation (Bailey, 2019). Path-goal theory has also defined in the presentation
and according to the discussed it is analysed that this theory defines the leader's specific roles
and the employees working condition at the working place. According to the presentation, the
path-goal theory also lays down the goals through which leaders get motivated to encourage their
team members so satisfying their needs and demands for achieving the goal of the organisation.
Then the presentation has discussed the situational leadership approach through which leader can
analyse the critical situations in the organisation along with the strategies and changes they can
implement to handle the situations. According to the presentation it has analysed that situational
approach of leadership has four stages such as- telling, selling, participating and delegating

stages through which effective decisions can be made to achieve the target of the organisation.
Transformational leadership has also discussed in the presentation and that analysed that
transformational leadership properly motives the team members of the organisation by using a
chain of command for ensuring about their job (Bolman and Deal, 2017). It is defined that
transformational theory helps the leaders of the organisation to analyse the requirement of
development and changes to achieve the target of the organisation. In the end, the group
presentation has compared the leadership with the management.
The discussion has analysed that leadership is the process through which leaders set the new
vision and direction for their group and team members that they need to follow for achieving the
organisation's aims and objectives. According to the presentation, leadership is the key elements
of the management so for a leader it is essential to coordinate with the manager of the
organisation and complete the set target of the organisation (Day et al, 2016). It is also analysed
that management is the process through which managers of the organisation can control and
direct the people and resources as per the principles and requirements of the organisation. The
presentation has concluded that the main difference between management and leadership is
related to the handling and managing the formal groups of employees who are working in the
organisation.

Part B: Reflection
With the help of the presentation, I have learned teamwork spirit and its importance to complete
the project on a given time. My personal skills and personality have also developed after this
group presentation because the presentation has enhanced my confidence level and my
communication skill. The lessons that I learned from the presentation are related to the
importance of leadership quality for achieving the goals and objectives. The significant things
that are learned are- self-motivation, self-confidence, teamwork, proper verbal communication
and gathering of information (Graham, 2017). As the team member of this group presentation,
my role is related to gather the information and data about the presentation topic which is about
leadership skills, theories and approaches. I have used various authors’ books, articles and
journals through which information about the leadership has been collected. The information
collected by me has helped my team and me to complete the presentation with the quality of
content.
Apart from learning, there are some challenges which I faced during this presentation. Verbal
communication during the presentation becomes one of the challenging things for me which
sometimes reduce my confidence level while presenting the presentation. Another challenge that
I and my team has faced during this presentation is related to the proper coordination among the
members because everyone has a different point of view for creating the presentation due to
which conflicts has also raised among team members (Higgs and Dulewicz, 2016). The lack of
proper coordination about the team members has delayed the completion of the presentation. We
are also lacked in time management because role distribution between the members is not done
properly. The problems and challenges have reduced the motivation level of me and my team but
with the support my seniors and lectures we have successfully completed this presentation.
The knowledge about the leadership and its skills along with personality has also gained by me
during the presentation. The information we have gathered in respect of leadership has improved
my personality as I learned the skills for handling the team so that the set target can be achieved
easily and quickly. The knowledge about the approaches and theories that leaders can use has
also learned by me that helped leaders to encourage their team members towards the set vision
and mission of the organisation. With the help of the presentation, I have improved my

knowledge and understanding of the importance of senior direction and guidance towards juniors
for achieving the goals and objectives (Lawton and Páez, 2015). Various types of personal skills
and abilities are also improved in me that helped me in my future group presentation. I have
learned many things after facing challenges such as- the importance of proper role distribution,
the importance of proper coordination among the team members and management of time.
Apart from this, I also analysed some areas in which I need improvement so that in future I can
improve my team working. The areas in which I need improvement is- verbal communication,
time management, sharing of details and coordinating with the other team members so that we
can handle the critical situations while completing the group presentation. I need to improve my
writing as well as verbal communication through which I can enhance my academic performance
in future projects (Katzenbach and Smith, 2015). By implementing changes in these areas, I can
gain more confidence to present the individual as well as a group presentation. The improvement
in communication also helped me to reduce face-to-face communication fear. So, overall
analysed has identified that challenges that we are facing can be reduced by working on the
lacking areas.
