REFLECTIVE ESSAY
Reflection on the process of Group Presentation
While I was included in the group presentation, it was one of the challenging
experiences which were faced by me. The main issue which was faced by me was that I
was supposed to work with the different members whom I don’t know and it affected my
morale. However, despite such factors, I feel that the entire completion of the project
was highly rewarding in nature as I was able to give my best and it has been capable of
providing me with insights on different kinds of concepts and other important aspects
about which I lacked knowledge. The main reason was that I was capable of utilizing the
different theories which have been learnt by me and applying them to the specific areas.
I feel that the overall experience was highly effective as all the team members were
capable of achieving the successful outcomes and we were able to learn the different
aspects during the respective process as well.
Identification and Evaluation of Strategies Used for Understanding Positive and
Negative Aspects of Group Work
While working in the group, the professor made the random team and it took a
little bit of time for us in deciding the topic which was required to be researched and
made the task on. However, finally we decided the topic and it was related to the
importance of the communication and motivation in the company. Every member was
satisfied with the topic and we started researching regarding the same. As I was being
made the leader of the group, I felt the main problem was related to the lack of cultural
diversity in the team and no one was ready to take into consideration the opinions of
others. It was a difficult task for me in handling such issues and it impacted the
performance of the team during the first few weeks.
However, I tried to manage somehow the entire situation by understanding
everyone’s viewpoints and tried to include my opinions as well. During the respective
process, I was tensed and was unable to complete the task and distribute the tasks
among the different team members. However, before the deadline approaches, I tried to
insert three or more theories of motivation such as Maslow’s Hierarchy Theory along
with communication process and there were differences in the opinions regarding the

From the analysis of the research project on management, the main issue was
the lack of cultural diversity in me and the other team members who were working under
me in the respective team. In such scenario, I feel that I need to develop my leadership
skills which are the most needed aspect which should be implemented for managing
and handling the team successfully. I felt that the respective group presentation has
helped me in improving myself as a leader as I gathered the large level of patience
which is the key element that is needed to be implemented while handling the team or
working with one or more person in the group. I developed the skill that while working in
the group, everyone’s opinions needs to be valued as everyone is the critical part of the
scenario.
Therefore, reflecting on my experience in the overall manner, it allowed me in
improving the overall capacity to reflect on the action for engaging with one another. In
the group presentation, the main aspect is the involvement of all the employees in the
group discussion and their opinions should be taken into consideration successfully. At
first, I was not comfortable in working with other individuals, however, as the time
passed, I felt that it is actual circumstance which will be faced by everyone of us in the
future during doing job in different fields. There will be teams and the team effectiveness
is the main element which is calculated as the most critical element as it will be
developing me as a team player in the company and the team as a whole. Lastly, I
would like to comment that overall, my experience is rewarding.
