LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT PROFILE ASSIGNMENT
Introduction
Leadership is being considered as an action that helps well in leading the group of individuals or
an organization. This assignment will be prepared on ‘Leadership Management Profile’, and its
objective is to analysis as well as applies different leadership approaches to make a logical
connection with the practical application. This assignment will discuss leadership skills and
approaches which are by the organization’s management.
Trait Theory
In my opinion, trait theory describes the different characteristics or traits that are required in an
individual to be a leader (Colbert et. al., 2012 para. 1. pp. 670). The three leadership traits as per
the trait theory which I possess can be defined as follows:
Drive: To be a good leader, I can drive due to a high level of effort. For every task which I do is
with lots of energy and very ambitious and high desire to attain it. At the time of taking any
responsibility, I always show initiative and also influence others. For example, our lecturer asked
us for outdoor activity concerning some assignment where we have to collect responses from
outside individuals. I was the first one to take the initiative for the business and also influenced
others to do so.
Honesty and Integrity: Leaders can build trust and relationship with their followers by being
non-deceitful and truthful and also by having consistency in deed and words. I also have integrity
and honesty which will make me a good leader. For example, once a shopkeeper forgot to take
money from one of the items which I purchased. I checked the bill and immediately notify him
for the matter.

Self-confidence: When the followers get the self-doubt then they look for their leaders, and it is
the responsibility of the leader show self-confidence to convince followers regarding the
rightness of decisions and goals. I am full of confidence and also influence my friends to have it.
For example- once my friend was assigned with a task where he has to make a creative
presentation to present on the annual day of college, and he was in self-doubt that he would not
be able to do so. I motivated him and also provided him with the guidance which made him think
that he will able to complete the task.
According to me, there are some different traits also that do not belong to the trait theory but are
required to be a leader. One of the main character traits which I possess is of creativity and
innovation. An effective leader applies the essentials of creativity in work and also foster
creativity among the different group members (McCleskey, 2014 para. 4. pp. 117) .
As per the analysis which has been done, I think that I could be an effective leader as I possess
the above-explained traits and characteristics which are required to be a good leader. The defined
qualities like drive, self-confidence, integrity and honesty are the most significant and crucial
characteristics that make an effective leader.
Situational, Transformational and Servant Leadership
As per my opinion, the situational leadership style is being used by an individual to give a
response to different situations. According to this style of leadership, leaders behave as per the
position of the followers and take appropriate decisions. There is the situation when the
followers are able, willing and confident to do a task the responsibility is being given to them.
When a follower is able, unwilling and insecure, then ideas should be shared with them. If a
follower is unable, willing and confident the task must be explained and encourage should be

given to them and if a follower is unable, unwilling and insecure the particular directions must be
provided to them (Landis, Hill & Harvey, 2014, para. 5. pp. 97).
As per the concept of transformational leadership, I understand that this leadership style is
being used to make a transformation or some changes in the social system as well as in
individuals. These leaders also give inspiration to the followers beyond their self-interest for the
organization’s good and also inspire them to make some extra efforts.
The main aim of servant leadership is to serve. This leadership is very distinct from the
leadership’s traditional form where the prime motive of leaders is to provide success to the
company (Du et. al., 2013, para. 4. pp. 157). This leadership is being carried out in an
organisation to solve the various issues and to serve followers with their requirements and needs.
As per my view, out of three approaches, the servant leadership approach will be the most
effective one as it is having the full dedication for the services of employees and business.
Once there was a situation in a company where I was doing late work because of the problems in
my project, and I was unable to solve it. No supervisor was there in the office except my team
leader. He motivated me and supported me in resolving my issues and leave office after the
completion of my work. I can say that he served me well in the situation and was very
supportive.
Identification of leader
Different kinds of leaders, as well as leadership, are there which are possessed by a person.
Leaders make an impact on employees in both positive as well as negative manner. The
examples of a leader with a positive and negative impact on employees can be defined as:

LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT PROFILE ASSIGNMENT
Brian Krzanich, a CEO of Intel is one of the best examples of a decisive leader. Krzanich was in
headlines many times because of the diversification of the staff of the company in all over the
world. He has also introduced $300 million five years plan for the overall development as well as
the growth of the company in an appropriate manner. Intel's CEO makes utilization of the skills
of leadership appropriately to lead the organisation to have success and also to influence other
leaders (Fast Company, 2015).
Apart from the positive leadership, an example of a negative direction is also where the instance
of Martin Winterkon can be taken. He is the former CEO of Volkswagen who contributed to the
software installation unethically and illegally due to which accurate reports do not get generated
regarding the vehicle's emission. It has been found out from the research that he was fully
involved in such activities to make money (Fast Company, 2015).
Leadership Scenarios
Scenario 1: As per the first scenario, the leader can make use of a motivational leadership style.
This leadership style will be very supportive according to this situation as it will boost the morale
of an employee and will understand the situation in an appropriate manner.
Scenario 2: According to the second scenario, the leader must make utilization of a directive
leadership style which will be supportive in giving direction and guidance to the employee
regarding how she should work.
Scenario 3: As per the third business situation, again a motivational leadership style should be
selected as there is the lack of motivation between employees and it will also be ensured by the
leader that the appropriate rewards will be given to them for their work (Nanjundeswaraswamy
& Swamy, 2014, para. 6. pp. 57).

Scenario 4: In this business situation, the most appropriate leadership style will be a directive
leadership approach as it will assist in motivating and guiding employees to attain the objectives
of an organisation.
Scenario 5: Supportive leadership style will be the best one for this business scenario. As with
the application of this style, the employees will be motivated, and the support will be given to
them concerning the increase in their productivity.
Personal Leadership Profile
It is a great responsibility to be a leader as the leader is the one who is having the ability to
maintain various resources as well as employees of an organisation to attain aims and objectives
appropriately. I also have the intention to be a good leader in an organization that will make good
use of my capabilities. Different kinds of leadership qualities are there in me which will be very
supportive of me for my overall development. The first quality which I possess is of honesty and
integrity. To be a good leader, it is indispensable to have a good relationship with the followers,
and that can only be developed with the support of honesty. As per my opinion, an honest person
always has many followers and positively influences them. Another quality that could make me a
good leader is of positivity. There are many situations in an organization which creates
negativity and to solve such circumstances and to solve such cases a leader must remain positive
and should motivate other employees as well. Apart from this, I am also having good innovative
as well as creative skills which will undoubtedly lead me in future. Innovation is the key to
success as the customers of the company always look for some innovative and creative features
for which there is a need for innovative thinking.

There is one quality in which I lack, and it is necessary to be a good leader. This quality is
concerning time management. I am not able to manage my time appropriately and face various
difficulties in completing assigned work. A good leader should have a proper understanding
regarding the significance of time management and must maintain all activities as per the
schedule (Khan, Aslam & Riaz, 2012, para. 4. pp. 18 ).
Conclusion
From the report which is presented above, it can be concluded that different approaches and
theories are there a leader must adopt that in various conditions of business. The assignment also
makes provision of the information concerning the leadership qualities that are required to be a
good leader. It is essential to understand the leadership's significance so that an individual can
