This project, designed for a Diploma of Leadership and Management course, assesses a student's ability to lead and manage effective workplace relationships, and implement diversity in the workplace. The assessment comprises three tasks. Task 1 requires the student, acting as an HR manager, to plan, prepare, and deliver a 10-minute presentation addressing a workplace conflict scenario, demonstrating communication, decision-making, and guidance skills. The presentation includes a minimum of 10 slides and must adhere to specific formatting guidelines. Task 2 involves providing solutions to a scenario concerning diversity issues on a campus, considering cultural needs, discrimination, religious practices, health and safety, and legal obligations. Task 3 requires the student to address a scenario related to managing team performance, focusing on ensuring shop staffing and addressing employee issues. Each task evaluates specific competencies outlined in the unit of competency BSBLDR502 and BSBLDR504, with assessment criteria focusing on communication, problem-solving, and the application of diversity principles. The assessment is worth 40% of the overall course grade and is conducted individually.
