Explain the key causes of staff demotivation in your home country.
There are following main causes of demotivation of the employee in the organization:
The growth in any organization is a big concern for employees. Lack of progress, improvement
will lead to demotivate people. When any new idea or new technology has to go through several
filters before implementing, in that scenario it highly demotivates people. For example; big
giants its companies such as Google, Facebook, apple, Cognizant etc. have a low firing rate and
good growth in terms of increment and promotions, good knowledge improvement in the field of
work.
Micromanagement is sometimes really demotivating the employees because micromanagement
doesn't trust their employee quite easily. Micromanagement generally decreases trust and not
easily free them to do their work according to their needs.
The firing rate of any organization increases the job insecurity of the organization. The
organization who is too unstable, the employee in that company work only to maintain their daily
basis investments.
Leadership is also very important while working in any company because once faith lost in the
organization, the leader is the one who affects the companies. A weak leader is the one, who
spread positive and negative vibes. For example; Microsoft before Satya Nadella has been
wiping out from the market due to weak leadership but Satya Nadella ideas have made Microsoft
survive with the launch of Windows 10.
There should be good communication between the level of officers. An employee gets motivated
with proper communication with the leaders and managers. There should be proper good
guidance in any organization for motivation. poor communication always leads to
communication gaps.

Greetings of the day,
They have reviewed your forum post on the topic “demotivation of employees” and its causes,
reviewing the causes marked by them are well explained and They totally agree with the causes
they have stated. They totally agree with you that different people need different engagements
and it is very important to understand the reason behind the causes and to remove the source of
causes is also important. Any employee working in any organization need some flexibility in
their work and it is the responsibility of the officers of the organization to provide those to the
employees, they also with the fact that there should be credit giving activities conducted in the
companies just to value the hard work they have given to the organization. A poor leader who is
unable to lead from the front will ultimately demotivate its employees. A good successful leader
is a good motivator (Hughes, 2015).
Forum review of Sanjeev on Tuesday, 12th March 2019.
Greetings of the day,
They totally agree with the facts you have given, which shows how India has been emerging as a
global leader with too many youngsters joining big IT companies. These companies are trying to
motivate their employees to work as good as they can. A big problem also rising in these
companies due to lack of motivation for staying in a single company for long. Infosys a big giant
in India in IT firms has encountered a big loop of people leaving the company due to the lack of
motivation (Seltzer,2010).

There are the following challenges which are faced by the leaders in any organization
such as:
It is the task of a leader to inspire the employees to work hard and achieve their targets. It is also
important to inspire others to stay in their company for long. Interact with the employees, A good
is the one who understands his or her team. Provide training or guiding them towards their work
is also important (Hughes, 2015).
Leading a team is important for any person, lead the team with proper management, development
of the team, how to interact with a new team and how to lead and understand them quickly is
also a challenge for a leader.
Forum review of Niraj Bhai Patel on Monday, 18th March 2019.
Greetings of the day,
They totally agree with the challenges they have acknowledged such as lack of personal
development, communication during leadership, culture in the organization. They agree with
your assessment which shows the importance of communication and lacking the same will affect
the organization. They have also stated a lack of personal development as a challenge for the
organization. The leaders are not much aware of the lower level employees and it is also a
challenge for a leader to make aware about all the employees of all levels. The morale and
engagement of the staff are very important for the performance of the employees. In a congested
and strict environment, employees are not able to speak up freely and they also not able to work
freely, hence it is important and a challenge for a leader to maintain a friendly environment in the
organization (Seltzer,2010).
Forum review by Mithun Saha on 17th March 2019
They have reviewed your forum on challenges faced by leaders and I totally agree with the
example you have made of Nokia how a rigid and congested hierarchy model made it impossible
for the company to strive and revive back. New innovation and research are adapted quite easily
in any organization. Any organization should adopt changes physically, structurally and
culturally. Resource management is also a big challenge faced by leaders to use effectively.

Individual essay
Part A
My leadership Style
There are some leadership styles which can be used by a leader for an effective working culture
in the organization. I have chosen a participative leadership style as my leadership style.
Participative leadership is also called democratic leadership. Participative leaders give guidance
to the group members, will allow the employees to provide their input. It is more productive
when compared with the other styles of leadership. Participative or democratic leaders allow
employees to take part in decision-making processes which can change the policies of the
organization. It is the quality of a democratic leader to make their supporters feel that they all
also an important part in the organization and they can even take part in the decision-making
process and can make changes on their own (Hughes, 2015).
If we talk about the advantages and disadvantages of a democratic leader, these are:
Advantages of a democratic leader are:
The democratic leaders allow the group members to share their ideas in the organization and
encourage the members to find unique solutions.
In democratic leadership, the employees feel more involved and effective in the problems they
are involved with.
The Democratic leadership also increases the quality of the end products.
Disadvantages are:
In the congested environment, if the time is not specified this style of leadership can lead to
problems such as failure in projects.
Sometimes, friendly environment makes an employee less productive can less concerned about
their work.

Leadership skills which should not be violated are:
Respecting others: While talking about the principles which should be followed, any violation
of these principles will affect the organization negatively. It is important to encourage and taking
concern about the works and make them feel they are important to the organization. Respecting
them involves listening to them attentively, indulge with them, take a meeting and involve them
in a meeting etc (Hughes, 2015).
Justice: A good democratic leader hears both sides, in conflict and justice is a key quality of a
leader and he or she should follow the same. A good ethical leader should not be biased
according to gender, caste, nationality etc (Smith, 2014).
Honesty: A democratic leader should be honest in his or her work. A good leader has always
been followed by their employees, hence being honest will help him to maintain a good
leadership honest image among their employees and help to maintain a good relationship with
them.

Impact of religious beliefs and inclusiveness in the leadership approach.
Leaders are always affected and inspired by the religion they follow. Religion teaches many
things to a leader or any person who follows such as ethics of work, how to talk, how to
acknowledge anyone etc. Ethics are a very important part of leadership. If a leader who is
following any religion, does not have those ethics which that religion taught, he or she will not
be able to guide his or her people. The main source of ethical leadership is religion. Religion
taught us how to be a good person, how to be disciplined with the work, honesty, loyalty, care
etc. and all these features should be there in a leader taught by religion (Smith, 2014).
There is a big difference between a leader and a senior or boss. This change is because of how
they make their employee feel. Leaders are ethical sound, but bosses are not. Nowadays, the
seniors are tested well to analyze the tasks how ethical they are towards their employees or
followers. The focus mainly on how those should be analyzed according to the leadership
practices. Ethical leadership is important taught by religion which leader follows it is important
to implement in the management (Seltzer,2010).
It is important to support the followers, to maintain or increase their morale. it is important for
any leader to treat their followers how he or she wanted to be treated. It is very difficult for the
industry to follow a leader who is not ethically working. The environment of the workspace
should be maintained by the leaders, as followers work according to the leaders.
Key features of democratic leadership and experiences.
It should be noted that the democratic leadership mostly confused with the political leadership in
a democracy. Yes, there are some similarities but it is not completely the same. The Democratic
leadership is unique and it involves all the followers in all kind of decisions (Smith, 2014).
The key experience of democratic leadership is a democracy, how free their followers can be to
share their ideas, their involvement in the organization. In a democracy, the people rule the
region or they choose their leader whom they want in the majority. Democratic leadership is
silently different from it. democratic leadership means the leader has to influence their followers.
In early times, people start to judge leaders how they feel and think what a true leader is. (Hughes,
2015).
In the 1930s, people are very interested in analyzing leadership and further decision-making
styles. The 3 most important part of democratic leadership are:
Document Page
The democratic leaders impose the ability to do work in time with supervision.
It is expected from the officers to report the leader.
The democratic leader will always try to involve the followers in their decision-making
process.
The key experiences of democratic leadership are:
The circulation of leadership: It is important to distribute power among individuals or
followers. The democratic leadership style has a true equal power hierarchy among the
followers in the decision-making process. It does not mean that only some group involved in
the decision-making process (Seltzer,2010).
Decision-making process in deliberation: the structure of democratic leadership mainly
support and help deliberation. Deliberation can be achieved by fostering the decision-making
process. Through proper analysis, problem-solving can be done easily.
Identify a key leadership issue:
A leader is the one, who bring their followers with him or her, support them, guide them, and
encourage them. Recently, if we take an example of Kingfisher airlines. The Kingfisher
airlines working in the airline sector, beverages sector and many more sectors headed by Mr.
Vijay Malaya.
A leader should always guide and be with the company, guiding their employees. A leader's
nature, his or her vibes motivates their employees to work harder. Mr. Vijay Malaya who was
leading kingfisher airlines was involved more in clubs, pubs, and practices. He never took
interest in his company because he believed in his managers and senior executives, which was a
good way, a leader should have faith and confidence in his or her team, but it is also important
for a leader to be with the team and involve in certain issues which they are facing. Kingfisher
airlines have been sold due to the lack of involvement of the leaders (Smith, 2014).
Provide a brief overview of the issue.
The kingfisher was going well, but the leader Mr. Vijay Malaya was not much involved in the
decision-making process on new ideas and innovation. He totally has faith in his managers and
executives which is a big mistake for the Kingfisher airlines (Hughes, 2015).
Document Page
Kingfisher was missing a good leader over them, as a leader is the only one, who guide and
motivate to do good. Employees started to leave kingfisher, as there is no the involvement of the
leader. The company was completely running over the executives.
Meanwhile, new airline companies such as blue dart, spice jets are growing day by day due to a
strong motivated leader and made their market. Kingfisher was failed to analyze the market and
hence collapsed (Seltzer,2010).
What should be done, to save Kingfisher from collapsing?
The biggest problem in the context of kingfisher is the lack of a leader who can guide, or
motivate to work better. There are many ways through which kingfisher can be saved due to
good leadership. The Kingfisher airlines were failed to analyze the airline market. The airline
market was changing with new airline companies emerging in India and Kingfisher was unable
to analyze the market. The other airliners were implementing new ideas and discount options to
boost up their market. Kingfisher also has to do some unique things and should implement new
ideas, new service schemes which can improve the market of the kingfisher.
Meanwhile, king fisher beverages is working well but airlines are not doing good in the market.
The big change which has made kingfisher to ruin their market, is none other than Mr. Vijay
Malaya himself, as lack of a good leader is the key in the collapse of Kingfisher. Kingfisher is
responsible for the loss. The new airliners were using new technologies in the market, but
Kingfisher was using the same old technology in their airliners and same services. They should
implement new technologies to fulfill their needs in the market (Smith, 2014).

Introduction to Qantas Airlines.
It is the largest airline services in Australia, currently providing services in international ad
domestic air flight. Qantas was also one of the 10 oldest airline services in Australia. In the year

airlines are big airline services had flown away 14% of total passengers inside and outside of

domestic airline service named "Jetstar" which is a low-cost airline service (Hughes, 2015).
Qantas was founded in 1920 in the capital of Australia. The very old aircraft of Qantas is Avro.
There are many collaborations involved in them, Qantas involved in Qantas empire airways
limited. The airline industry was first working and providing services between Darwin and
Brisbane. In the year 1960, when QEA has been extended from Darwin to Singapore, Qantas has
started its services more and more in the international segments. During world war 2, the QEA
destroyed as the flights get destroyed during warfare (Smith, 2014).
Flights on flying boats had also started by Qantas and slowly been used after world war 2. The
first flight of flying boat was started between koala lake in Sri Lanka and Crowley in Perth.
Which started a linkage between the British overseas airways limited? In 1944, kangaroo logo
was first used between Karachi, a city of Pakistan and Sydney. In 1947, Qantas was first
nationalized by the Australian government. Later in '90s Australian airlines which is
government-based services collaborated with Qantas airlines. Qantas was owned by 51%. In the
year 1998, Qantas airlines also collaborated with Canada airlines, Australia airlines etc. Qantas
airlines helped Australian airlines to work with some short-term flights in Australia and
internationally also, but soon this particular subsidiary been shut down to improve the market for
their own Jetstar, which was a small level low priced domestic airline. The same kind of airlines
started by them in Vietnam also named Jetstar virgin. There is a dispute between the Qantas
airlines and transport Australia which made a serious problem for all the ground process for 2
days (Smith, 2014).

showcased for decades to commercialize Qantas airlines. Australia is very famous for rugby
games and union rugby team is been sponsored by Qantas airlines marking their involvement in
sports. Australian football team, sorcerers was sponsored by Qantas airlines. Australian formula
one Prix sponsoring the airlines and Qantas sponsoring some team playing in the grand Prix.
Qantas and Emirates began an alliance in combing 98 flights a week from Dubai with six-fold.
This made cut 1000 jobs per year.
Problems in the organization in the context of leadership
There are many problems in the leadership of Qantas Airliners in Australia:
Lack of accountability: Any leader should be focused on the works, disciplined work culture.
There should be a system which can improve the focus of the organization towards their work.
Fear of firing: Human resources are the main source of work for any company mainly in Qantas
airlines, it was a big problem for the leaders of Qantas. In the '80s when airliners are at a peak in
the market. The position of the Qantas in the '80s was weak and no one wishes to work in a weak
company, as it can be collapsed at any point in time. The leaders fear as no one would to work in
their airlines, which is weak (Hughes, 2015).
Lack of clear vision: Systematic things are always appreciated, hence there should be a clear
vision in their work. A vision of Qantas is to provide comfort to the company. It is a big problem
for a leader to make their employee work under their vision. A team should be ignited on the
vision by the leaders.
Poor execution: Leaders have to maintain the teams and supervise the plans made by them.
When they don't have the people at the right place, it is a big problem and headache for the
company. Execution should be good and prior to the list of leaders (Smith, 2014).
Lack of alignment: There is also a big problem for a leader to set alignment for the work
assigned. It is the responsibility of the leader to understand that when any decision is been taken
in that situation his or her team is behind him. The involvement of the team is important while
taking a decision. The decision taken should be according to the alignment of the team. When the
