1LEADERSHIP: QUESTIONNAIRE
Question 1: What are the most important values that you contribute as a leader?
One of the most important values which I embody is that of integrity. I try and
demonstrate honesty and trust in all my actions for the establishment of credibility as a leader. I
feel that values are the solid foundation for any organisation. In the absence of values the
workers can go astray and the invisible bond which bids the organisation might cease to exist. To
me personally the values of integrity, customer focus, respect for people and learning are the
most important. In case integrity is valued, the people in the organisation are bound to remain
pure and committed to each other as well as to the organisation.
Question 2: How have you been able to gain commitment from your team?
In order to gain commitment from my team I have always made sure that there is a
winning team spirit inherent within the team and a properly articulated vision, course of action
and benefits to the team members. There has always been a clean vision and a proper focus on
the mission which the organisation has for itself. I make sure that my team works towards
translating the vision to action. I have always tried to remain committed to the requirements of
my team and the organisation as a whole so that a similar level of commitment is reciprocated
from the team itself.
Question 3: Can you give instances where you faced challenges as a leader and how have
you overcome it?
Electric utilities must reduce the costs at the time of ensuring that the level of operational
excellence is maintained along with the rapidly digitized end to end processes and the
performance also needs to be improved. The teams also face challenges of balancing demand

peaks with low intermittent production. In such situations I have faced issues in making the team
members understand the importance of their contribution to the company. I have also faced
issues in making them understand that sometimes they have to work overtime and they might not
be able to fulfil their commitments on time. Despite these issues I have tried to make the team
members understand that their contribution will help the company reach its mission.
Question 4: As per others in this company, what is your personal strength as a leader
which has helped you to flourish in team?
Others feel that it is my capability as a team manager and most importantly as a friend
who believes in working together which ultimately helps the team move forward and achieve its
goals.
Question 5: How do you get your team to contribute to and apply to your ideas?
I make it a point to organise meetings at regular intervals with the members of the team
so that each of them can make valuable contributions to the success of the company and no
person feels left out.
Question 6: What are different methods that you apply to praise a team member or the
team in general, when they have performed well?
I feel that praise is a very careful thing to handle especially in case of a team. I try to
check whether any particular team member has gone any extra mile to perform his or her own
work or to have helped the team. I try to highlight the issue more than the person, so that even
others can learn from such positive examples.

Question 7: What do you feel is your role as a leader to encourage your team in difficult
times to help them succeed?
The importance of a leader according to me, is when his or her team is facing difficult
times. What I try to ensure is that, when my team in stress or under too much pressure, I try to
ensure that I help them out a bit more in terms of chalking out their work patterns suitably so that
they do not face issues while doing them. I also give examples of their own exemplary
performance so that they feel innately motivated.
Question 8: What according to you are the most difficult decisions which you need to take
as a leader?
The role of a leader is extremely difficult and so are the responsibilities. I feel the most
difficult situation is when I have to pick the best performer or in case I have to suggest names to
the higher authority for attrition. I try my best to remain impartial and take decisions which are in
the best interest of the organisation.
