INTRODUCTION
Leadership management is the ability of leader in firm to induce workers to work with
full of confidence (Rajbhandari and et.al., 2014). The present report is based on leadership
management styles, it explain three leadership traits from Trait theory and characteristics that
posses by effective leader. This study justifies five leadership scenarios in which person need to
chose the most appropriate and suitable leadership styles for each scenario differently.
Three leadership traits from trait theory
Trait theory is the best approach used to study of human personality, it usually interested
in measurement of attributes which defined as habitual pattern of thought, emotion and
behaviour. I posses creativity and motivation trait of leadership, that is beneficial for me as well
as my team. Through motivational trait I can motivate my team and support them to perform
better than before. Creativity traits is one of the another traits of leadership, that helps me to
develop creative and innovative ideas.
On the other hand I do not posses, flexibility leadership trait in my self. For example,
when organization structure is changes I cannot be able to work effectively because of new
working environment around workplace.
One characteristics, traits or personality trait
Perfectionism is one personality trait that I posses which support me to become a good
and effective leader. This traits does not belong to trait theory, according to this attribute person
strive for setting high performance and flawless standards that helps to grow career as leader. It
drives an individual to attempt to reach unrealistic goals and unattainable ideas., even they lead
to low self esteem and depression. Through this trait I can perform better than the others in
workplace, I can achieve unattainable objectives and goals which is beneficial for business
growth.
Justification to be an effective leader
Yes, I feel that I would be an effective leader because I have all the skills, traits and
characteristics which required to become a good leader. Leadership is all about being creative
and passionate about what individual do. I have confidence in myself to inspire and motivate
other staff members in company. I can make hard choice, passionate about my work and have
ability to take difficult decisions and carry them into action effectively. I can create clear picture
of what could be get by everyone on similar platform.

Transformational, situational and servant leadership
Situational leadership is one of the great leadership styles, used by leader in company
when they need to adjust its style in order to fit with development level of business (Parveen &
Tariq, 2014). The overall philosophy behind this leadership is to motivate workers and takes
appropriate decision based on situational analysis. According to this style, leaders take their
decision after analysing the current situation which is beneficial and helpful for better results.
Transformational leadership is another style of leader that they can adopt and used in
organization to motivate and encourage employees. The overall concept behind this leadership is
to build strong team by leader through inspiring staff for creating and developing ideas for future
growth of business.
The philosophy behind servant leadership is to enriches the lives of worker or
individual and build better company by providing better services. When leader adopt 10 key
traits of servant leadership they can contribute to grow business effectively.
Comparison between three leadership approaches
I feel that situational leadership approach is better than other two approaches because
it helps to take better decision even in conflict situation. Supportive and motivating work
environment can contribute to increased profitability and productivity. According to my point of
view by using this approach, leader can boost up the moral among workers and able to create
productive environment around workplace. It is the most effective leadership approach, that
helps to maximize productivity and creativity for company. For example, When company face
issues due to high employee turnover, situational leader can provide high support, they motivate
staff and solve their problems either related to work for other, it help to reduce employee
turnover.
Used of one leadership approach
Most of the people cannot be able to work in new working environment, they do not want
to make any changes in their daily work schedules because it impact on their productivity as well
as performance. In organization, when management make changes in workplace, it effect on
employee working ability. Company want to change work area setting and restructure the entire
workplace. Few of people do not except these modification, they decide to quite the job, at this
situation I used transformational leadership approach that work effectively and provide positive
results. By using this approach, I inspire people to change their perception they need motivation

which helps to drive them towards common business objective and goals which is essential
rather than focus on setting of new workplace.
Impact of leader power in positive and negative way
Statement 1-
Leader influence and used their power in harmful way, some leaders have expert power
in which they have ability to influence workers because of recognized knowledge, abilities and
talent. When leader to not recognize skills and traits of workers equally and used their power
unfairly it impact in negative or harmful way upon staff. This type of leader received expert
power through cross training where they need to be able to know about other jobs as well as their
own. Steve jobs in Apple company used their power in negative way, he take decision and forced
other to follow it.
Statement 2-
On the other hand, leader can impact and used its power in positive way which boost
morale of workers effectively. Some leader have reward power in which they are accountable for
fairly motivating staff, it includes praise, promotion and salary raises. When they used rewards
power fairly and without favouritism, this will motivate individual and increased their working
abilities, it impact on positive way.
I think that leaders always used their power in positive way, they do not play unfair
games because it is not suitable for company as well as its professional career growth.
Leadership Scenarios
Leadership scenario 1-
In Hershey Blanchard model, situational leadership styles I feel would be appropriate
for situation (Démeh & Rosengren, 2015). In company, I noticed that one of my team member
who is inexperienced not following the proper way of work through on given tasks which affect
on business growth. In this specific condition, situational leadership style work better. According
to this style, leader simply tell inexperienced worker what they need to do on assigned tasks and
how they would complete it in appropriate way. Senior management employee are ready in this
employee.
Leadership scenario 2
Path goal model is the theory based on leader behaviour and styles that best suited work
environment and workers in order to achieve objective. Directive leadership styles I think is the

best suited for below scenario. Project department give responsibility for new project in which I
have made assure that employees understand its roles and needed level of performance. By
using directive leadership style I can be able to let workers know what company is expected of
them and tells them how to complete their new projects. According to scenario, staff need to
perform better and accomplish tasks consist with better performance. Leader with directive
leadership style guide worker that have positive effect when they work and play role.
Leadership scenario 3-
Supportive leadership styles I feel will be most appropriate for this scenario. I have to
recognized expert person in one of my workers. I recognized the one expert but due to less
confidence she does not work and perform task. By using supportive leadership styles leader can
provide appropriate directions to her. Supportive leader give guidance to their team that
increased people performance and working ability. It helps to motivate employees and enhance
their performance. Supportive leaders will always influence other, they support those person
who does not feel confident in itself to complete job tasks. When employees said no to handle
new project because they do not feel confident, at this time supportive leaders encourage them
and boost up its confidence level.
Leadership scenario 4-
According to this scenario situation is different from other ones, within project
department an worker is waiting to retire because he is negatively influence by working
environment and morale of other staff members, they want to go out of organization. In this
situation, delegating leadership style in Hershey Blanchard model is appropriate. Accordant to
this style, leader allow each and every worker to take decision related to work which make them
able to feel as essential part of organization. Even when employee is demotivated and influence
by other behaviour negatively they have authority to make decision freely for not working with
them.
Leadership scenario 5-
Participating leadership style I feel is the best style for this scenario. I need to lead a team
inn which each group member is talented, good and motivated. Through this leadership style, I
can lead this team effectively for longer time period and retain their knowledge efficiently by
taking participant in their work. When I take participation in group work I can build strong

connection with all workers and effectively shared ideas with them that helps to boost morale of
all.
Management and personal leadership profile
When I become leader in future, I would like to used situational leadership style in my
work for getting the better outcomes in any situation. Yes I would like to incroproate leadership
style into my practices. When I would be potential leader in multinational organization, I will
like to take participation in team work which enhance my as well as my group performance
effectively. In my opinion, leader has to be a good communication skill, ability to solve issues
and make good interrelation with their staff. As a potential leader in future my core value is to
respecting others regardless of differences, ability to earn respect by others as well. Team
building is important for me as a leader. I gain more knowledge and information about leadership
through this work of study which helps to become a good leader.
Critical reflection
Critical reflection is analytical, difficult and descriptive and articulated in number of
ways such as in orally format, mostly it can be articulate in written form. While writing critical
reflection I face many challenges for example difficulty to express my thoughts and define my
point of view.
CONCLUSION
From above, it has been summarised that leader manage group of people in different
situation through adopting various leadership styles. They posses number of traits that helps to
build good team and motivate others in workplace. Situational, transformational and servant
leadership approaches work better and all are effective. Furthermore, in above study leader use
different leadership styles by using various models.
