INTRODUCTION
Leadership may be defined as an ability or skill of an individual or organisation to take
sound decisions as well as to inspire or motivate others to work better. Richard Branson, one of
the most popular English business magnate, author, investor and philanthropist was born in 1950
on 18 July. He is one of the most successful business leaders, who founded the virgin group and
is currently having control of more than 400 companies. This assignment will be based on
individual reflection of the team presentation; which will include summary and working process
of the group presentation.
PART 2 : INDIVIDUAL REFLECTION
A. Summary of the team presentation
Leadership is one of the most important area of management, which is concerned with
influencing and motivating the people within an organisation to work better towards the
attainment of the objectives of an organisation(Antonakis and Day, 2017). Leadership is defined
differently by different authors but is basically concerned as an art of leading and guiding the
individuals, teams or all the members of an organisation. Hence, it is very important to ensure
efficient leadership within an organisation in order to run the business smoothly towards the
attainment of the mission of the company.
Leadership is carried out by a leader and a leader is a person who sets standards for
others. Apart from that, leader plays a major role in influencing others to increase their
productivity and work better towards the attainment of the objectives of the company. Hence,
leader plays a very vital role towards taking the business to achieve new heights of success.
There are variety of leadership skills that are necessary to be possessed by a leader. The
first and foremost leadership skills is team work and collaboration that is leader must possess the
capability to ensure that all the members of the organisation are working together in a
coordinated manner towards the attainment of mutual objectives of the team(Western, 2019).
The most important leadership skill is motivation that is leaders must ensure that the employees
of the organisation are motivated and inspired to work better towards achieving the objectives of
a company by enhancing their productivity. Moreover, leaders must even focus on development
of other leadership skills as well such as positive thinking, judgement, managing change,

Even leaders should make emphasis on development of efficient leader – follower
relationship because it is very important to have efficient relationship between leader and
follower in order to run the organisation effectively towards the attainment of the objectives of
the company. This is so because leader and follower both need each other to take the
organisation to new heights of success and thus efficient relationship would help both of them to
work together peacefully(Grint, Jones and Holt, 2016).
For example; Richard Branson, one of the most popular business magnate, investor,
author, philanthropist and the founder of virgin group is a very successful leader. He possesses
all the characteristics, traits and qualities of a successful leader such as he is an innovator. He
generates new and very creative ideas which is one of the basic reasons behind being successful
in a quite short span of time. Apart from that, his hard-working ability has helped him to rise in
the competitive environment by beating others. He left no stone unturned in achieving the set
targets which in turn helped him a lot in growing in his carrier. Moreover, he was always
interested in acquiring new knowledge and information and this was reflected in his overall
personality. This was the basic reason which made him different from others and he is
highlighted in the bunch of people because of his desire to learn and grab new information.
Furthermore, other popular traits and qualities of Richard Branson are firm believer of
mentorship and a family guy. Hence, possession of all these characteristics, traits and qualities
by Richard Branson made him a successful leader(Northouse, 2017).
B. Working process of producing a group presentation
Working process of producing a group presentation was found to be quite complex. It
was a complex process because while preparation of group presentation; few challenges were
faced. Apart from that, lot of lessons were learned through which immense knowledge was
acquired. Moreover, the working process on group presentation helped me in identifying the key
areas of improvement which in turn contributed in enhancing future team work.
The most difficult challenge that was faced at the time of preparation of group
presentation was to get in contact with each other(Greif and Knight, 2016). This is so because
during the class we weren't able to have discussions regarding the preparation of group
presentation. Even in case of plans of making any changes in presentation would create a need to

very difficult to come at a consensus which in turn disrupt the working of the team members in
preparation of presentation in harmony. Hence, these two were the major challenges that were
faced at the time of preparation of presentation.
There were various lessons that were learned through preparation of group
presentation(Baines, Blatchford and Kutnick, 2016). The most important lesson that was learned
was to plan a group presentation as well as to place and schedule each element of presentation
efficiently such as orientation, division of labour and assessment of team presentation. Apart
from that, art of working in a co-ordinated manner with the other team members was even learnt
by me through preparation of group presentation. Moreover, lot of knowledge was acquired by
me through involving myself in preparation of group presentation such as detailed knowledge on
leadership, leadership skills, characteristics, traits, qualities and the leadership skills of
successful leaders(Anderson, Spiro and Montague, 2017).
In order to enhance future team work, the skills that need to be improved are efficient
communication and problem solving skills. It is very important to develop effective
communication skills for the purpose of communicating and being in contact with all the team
members. Moreover, by developing problem solving skills I would be in a better position to
ensure harmony and peace within the team which would in turn assist in achieving the objectives
of the team effectively and efficiently by avoiding the conflicts which may arise due to
differences in opinion. Thus, working process of preparation of team presentation was found to
be quite complex(Drew, 2018).
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it has been summarised that group presentation by all the members
of the team was given on leadership and management. The presentation included all the concepts
of leadership in detail such as leadership traits, characteristics, abilities, skills, leaders, leadership
qualities of successful leaders, etc. Moreover, it was found that the major challenges that were
faced at the time of preparation of team presentation were differences in opinion and inability to
have proper contact between the team members. Furthermore, lot of lessons and knowledge was

From the above study, it has been summarised that group presentation by all the members
of the team was given on leadership and management. The presentation included all the concepts
of leadership in detail such as leadership traits, characteristics, abilities, skills, leaders, leadership
qualities of successful leaders, etc. Moreover, it was found that the major challenges that were
faced at the time of preparation of team presentation were differences in opinion and inability to
have proper contact between the team members. Furthermore, lot of lessons and knowledge was

acquired at the time of team presentation which would also assist in making improvements for
future group presentations.
