Leadership and management aids in maximising of efficiency and attaining goals.
Leadership is outlined to a quality of inspiring others for achieving objectives willingly addition
to enthusiastically (Hallinger, 2018). Similarly, management is associated to administering and
ensuring that all the daily practices are initiated as per the defined manner. Present individual
report includes summary on a topic highlighting key points that are made in team presentation. It
also covers reflection of working process to produce group presentation detailing challenged that
are faced, lessons which are learned and skills which require improvements for the purpose of
enhancing future working in team.

PART A
Overview: In a business concern, there are variants of challenges that are encountered
because of ineffective quality leadership. Moreover, communication of breakdown creates
complexities for workforce to engage with senior management (Kantola, Barath and Nazir,
2018). In this, application of situational leadership assists leader to make their leadership tactics
effective resulting to addressing communication issues that arise within the workplace.
Summary: Leader is a person who encompasses abilities for guiding, influencing and
leading others within the whole company. Situational leader is one of organisational leader who
possesses potentialities to adapt along with improve in accordance to changing circumstances at
workplace. Situational leadership involves ability as well as capacity for adapting and improving
things as per changing organisational situations. It is an adaptive style of leadership that
influences leaders for taking stock of all members of the team, weigh multiple variables at
workplace along with selecting effective leadership approach which fits to pertaining goals and
circumstances. Adherence of situational leadership could guide leaders to address problems
related to communication within an organisation (Jabbar and Hussein, 2017). It is considered as a
dynamic leadership style s it is essential for a leader to change their attitudes and behaviours to
address situation differently by devising right decisions.
There are various challenges which are encountered within an industry. One of problem
encountered is communication breakdown among senior management to that of junior staff.

goals are not achieved within determined duration. Many a times, junior employees complain
that they are not provided required number of information concerned with tasks and activities
that are required to complete which is another challenged encountered within an industry.
Most of the businesses are dynamic in context to effective communication and culture
that assist in understanding key strengths along with weaknesses of all people that are part of
company (Srivastava and Jain, 2017). Distinct culture and approaches of communication used by
top management aids to align practices of staff members towards a common objective. In cross
cultural aspect, situational leaders understand working in newly situations and enable easier
communications. In present competitive scenario, information about cross cultures is significant
for leaders so to influence behaviours together with attitudes of people to reach common
business goals.
In an organisation, leaders could adopt various number of paths for the purpose of
leading people differently. In context to situational leader, one of the path is allowing horizontal
communication in which information about practices of objective attainment flows laterally
involving people at similar organisational level. Other path is to create favourable working
environment in which all people could share ideas, thoughts, opinions and so on in context to an
issue. With involvement of junior staff in decision making as well as participation in
organisational meetings could also help situation leaders to lead, inspire and direct others in
different manner.
Situational leader has certain ways for developing junior staff. By improving competence
that includes knowledge, skills and task it becomes easy for to execute situational leadership in
order to develop junior employees. Moreover, fostering commitment of employees through
making them motivated and confident, situational leaders are able to develop their followers of
members of team.
Conclusion: Leader plays significant role in motivating others to perform with high
performance level with effective human relations. With application of adequate leadership
approach or style, it becomes easy to solve multiple issues that arises at organisational premise.
Leaders facilitate strong communication that results in increasing productivity, enhancing
engagement and participation of employees in meetings or decision making.

While working in the group presentation, I have learnt huge things that enhanced my
knowledge are inspired me for future team work. To reflect on my experience of working
process to produce group presentation, I have used Gibbs reflective cycle in order to provide
structure to my learning experience. Stages of the cycle including my experience is as follows:
Description: To complete presentation group work assignment, I worked with team of 5
people for preparing good presentation on Situational leadership. We all decided to divide
working as we had limited time and huge working including researching, arranging data and
making final presentation. In the whole working, I have acquired knowledge about who a leader
is, what is situational leadership, challenges that are faced in an industry, learning from the
situation, paths available for leaders to lead people differently and impact of supportive
behaviour at workplace.
Feelings: Prior we all came together as well as realised that we have collected huge
information and had great working to perform, I was happier and satisfied that we all were going
on right track. I thought that we have smartly divided the work among us. However, I got
frustrated when team members were not following the guidelines and working in their own
styles. His made me feel demotivated and I had to cancel my various planning. Overall, I was
satisfied when our presentation was completed on time.
Evaluation: As per working in the team, it was evaluated that there were various things
that went good and various went bad. In my experience of process in group presentation, one of
thing that went good was producing quality of presentation for agreed deadline. I was also
motivated in this working as various team members were working in their own manner that
influenced me to adopt new working techniques. However, things that didn’t went well was
mismanagement of time, disputed within team and lack of communication due to unfollowing of
providing guidelines by team members.
Analysis: Herein, people makes sense oh the things that have happened in the experience
(Puaschunder, 2018). I analysed that all the things went well because of effective coordination in
understanding of all team members in process of making presentation. However, things didn’t go
well due to miscommunication and rush throughout the working. Out of the whole situation, I
analysed that being aware about group think in upcoming working will be great to complete
allotted work and make decisions.

that I have faced certain challenges that included miscommunication with team members,
ineffective time management, unavailability of data and poor exchange of information.
Action plan: There are various skills which I require to improve for enhancing future
team work. Some of the skills are time management skill, data analytical skill, creative skill,
communication skill and problem solving skill. All these will be enhanced through active
participation in online courses, decision making and many more. To improve all these skill, I
require time period of 3 months.
CONCLUSION
From the information presented above, it has been concluded that leadership and
management goes hand in hand as they assist in boosting competitive edge, expanding network,
gaining practical knowledge and developing effective experience. Gibbs Reflective Model is
suitable to reflect on working made in the procedure to devise group presentation.
