HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Questions
1. What style of leadership do you work best under?
For me, I think that the autocratic leadership style has been the most suitable for me. It is
a task oriented leadership style, which has allowed me to accomplish the tasks quickly and
even gain better control over the members within a team. This has also allowed me to
understand the development needs of individuals, furthermore, provide them with training
too.
2. What leadership style best describes your present or former managers?
The present manager has been more inclined towards democratic leadership style, which
has allowed for providing freedom to the employees to make decisions. He has managed to
acquire employee views and opinions, though, with much freedom, in case of faults
committed by any employee, whether internationally or unintentionally, the manager may
face criticism (Nanjundeswaraswamy & Swamy, 2014). This can be a negative aspect, which
can further affect the performance of both the team members and the manager. The former
manager used to follow autocratic leadership style, which created better authority and control
over the employees.
3. Why is it important for nurse managers to have a clear understanding of their
predominant leadership style?
According to e, the nurse managers, when possess relevant knowledge and understanding
about the leadership style, can make a unit functional with equal level of engagement by
everyone as well as foster development of skills and expertise too. The nurse managers would
also be able to acquire the ideas, views and opinions of the employees before making an
effective decision too (Rast III et al., 2013).

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Response
Hi ABC
From your views, it is clear that the present manager has followed the democratic
leadership style, though it is evident that with too much freedom, employees might grab these
scopes and opportunities and conduct the dongs in a wrong way sometimes, which can
hamper the business functioning and lead to poor human resource management. It is
important for him to follow the leadership style, but at the same time, create some limitations,
so that they are controlled properly and made sure that before making any decisions, they
provide their views, ideas and opinions to the manager at first. The manager would then be
able to assess the possibilities and then ensure managing the staffs properly, fulfil their needs
and at the same time,’ facilitate the business functioning largely too.
Thank you
