Reflection

I enrolled into the MBA program with fresh vigor and energy. I expected the course to be a
massive learning experience. I remember being highly excited for the course to begin. Once, I
joined the course, I encountered a hectic schedule of classrooms, sessions, workshops and
projects. Each of these course has had a different impact on me. The entire course was a roller
coaster ride. I was fortunate enough to encounter proficient professors and peers which largely
helped my journey and helped me identify and overcome my shortcomings as a professional.
My primary goal upon entering this course was to develop my leadership skills, instil
professionalism and enhance my candidature as I apply for jobs in order to enter the corporate
world. I have observed immense changes in my personality in the span of this course. I find
myself more confident and have majorly improved my communication and presentation skills.
Before the course, I suffered from an extensive stage fear which made it difficult for me to
present my views in front of a large audience. However, this course gave me ample opportunities
to overcome this fear and today I feel confident in doing so.
At this point of time, I need to take more responsibilities and make a financial stable future for
myself. Therefore, a stable job which offers me financial security is on the top of my agenda. I
want to work with Amazon Inc. in the field of marketing and sales. I understand that a reputed
job with an international firm requires me to be competent with my subject, have a high business

acumen and possess excellent communication skills. Therefore, that dream job in Amazon Inc. is
my biggest motivation at the moment.
My personal goals include working on my leadership skills, reading more and keep myself
updated with world news. I have plans to travel to at least two new countries this year. I have
always been fond of travelling and I genuinely believe that there is no better way to experience
different cultures besides travelling. It nourishes soul and refreshes mind. I also wish to learn a
foreign language in order to expand my communication horizons.
At the same time, on the professional front, I aim to get the job of an assistant manager in the
sales and marketing department of Amazon Inc. I have done immense research about the
company and I am hopeful that Amazon can provide me with a fantastic platform for growth in
an intercultural and dynamic working environment. During this course, I have learnt to take
responsibilities regarding my personal and professional life. Often we had to work on projects
with short deadlines. This helped in managing my time better. The relative grading structure of
certain classes helped me in understanding the importance of healthy competition.
The program has changed my outlook to a professional life. Through this course, I have
experienced team work, deadlines, stress, coordination, innovation and leadership. These factors
have helped me gain a deeper insight about the professional that I wish to be in the future. Before

the course, I was not entirely serious about my career. I also had little or no idea about the
challenges that I might be facing as a working professional. But today, my outlook towards these
matters in entirely different and I understand the effort it requires to create a significant mark in
the corporate world and be successful among highly competent people.
Five years down the line I see myself as a chief manager at Amazon Inc. I wish to lead an entire
team of marketing and sales. I also wish to set an example and contribute to the growth of the
organization through my efforts in the sales department. I aim to introduce innovative strategies
and contribute to the organizational at an operational level.
Over a period of this course, I have understood that I possess excellent people management and
networking skills. I am sure this will help me in my career as I understand the importance of a
strong network and I will continue to work on this. As a leader, I believe in the philosophy of
leading by example. I hope to become an inspiration for those around me by taking onus and
responsibility for the growth of my team.
I am very excited for the future that lies ahead of me. This will be the first time that I would
work professionally and I sincerely hope to work hard and create a significant mark in the
industry. For the free time in the coming months, I would like to travel, read books and learn a

new language. I have always been fond of playing the guitar so I would surely invest more time
in that. I would spend time with family and friends, play sports and take care of my health.
Tuesday’s with morrie has taught me various lessons about love, life, money, education and
relationships. The book has been a guiding light and I have understood more about the places
that these attributes occupy in my life. All the chapters of the book have had a different impact
on me. After reading the book, I also read ‘Five people you meet in heaven’ and ‘the last lecture’
by the same author. All these books have enlightened me in different ways.
The course has overall been intense. I have experienced various emotions throughout the course.
There have been days where I have had fun while there have days where I have worked hard
without a wink of sleep. All these factors have evolved me as an individual and my learnings
from the course have evolved me as a professional. I have improved my leadership skills,
communication skills and have built a strong network of people around me. Post this course, I
look forward to the life that awaits me. I am aiming for my dream job at Amazon Inc. and I hope
that I will be able to find a place in their culture. I would put my best foot forward and
significantly contribute the organization and impart my learnings from this course to those
around me.
