Introduction
Week 8 to week 13 has allowed me to gain information regarding various aspects of
leadership that I was not educated about before. All the concepts were almost new to me and
found great interest in having a learning opportunity to learn about the same. The concept of
charismatic leadership intrigues me and thus, it the concept that has been chosen for discussion
in the following section.
Section A: REVIEW
The concept of Charismatic Leadership is a concept with the help of which, the distinct
style of leadership can be differentiated from the others. Charismatic leadership is a type of
leadership that is characterized by a behavior that involves a leadership vision, articulation, a
degree of risk taking, unconventional behavior that would not be practiced or carried out by any
other individual (Grabo, Spisak & Vugt, 2017). The nature of leadership is such that is bolsters
the development of relationships between the leaders and the subordinates (Barnes et al., 2016).
The leaders who are involved in such a type of leadership is driver by optimism, enthusiasm and
inspiring the subordinates and the people around.
Section B: APPLICATION
I have discovered an interesting fact about myself. I have realized that I derive utility by
helping others and seeing other perform effectively regardless of the task they are performing. I
used to be an individual, who would be driven by individual goals and performances. Even if that
can be considered and effective way to bolster individual success, I have started to feel more
content by succeeding together with other people. Furthermore, I have constantly received inputs
from people saying that I would become a good leader in the future. This has inspired me to keep

on pushing. In the future, I would carry on helping others as it is with the help of the same that I
would be able to satiate my personal effectiveness and self-actualization related need.
Conclusion
Regardless of the successful nature of the leadership, an aspect has been in question. That
aspect is the in question is the fact whether this type of leadership is developed by individuals
over time or the fact that people are born with the qualities. Research has to be carried in order to
satiate the needs for understanding the same.
