Identify three key learning’s from the semester that you will take with you into practice in
remote or regional settings?
I relay enjoyed this section because I have already an experience to work in the remote area. It
can be beneficial to relate a huge amount of content that I studied. Initially, I analyzed that there
is motivating categorization system named ARIA (Accessibility/Remoteness Index of Australia)
that has been built to identify the classification ways for regional, rural, and remote communities.
I also learned that how the categorization can, directly and indirectly, influence the community.
The representatives of Narrogin PCYC provide depth understanding about the policy changes
and funding cuts due to enhancing our knowledge.
In oppose to this, secondly, I gained my knowledge about strengths and weaknesses through
lectures and study for final essay. Additionally, I also created a robust relationship with the
community through direct communication with local community. Last, I gained my knowledge
about the importance of service delivery and factors that affect it. This section was trained me to
successfully deal with local community and deeply understand the culture of the community to
deliver the services systematically (Nakanishi, et al., 2013).
What self-care strategies will you put into place if working within a remote or regional
setting?
I spent a lot of time on myself and found that the self-care strategies could be beneficial for me.
A significant approach is to make liasion with friends, family as well as a colleague. In addition,
I also addressed that many of my friends have also lived and traveled in the remote area that can
understand the situation and provide some ways to deal with upcoming issues in an appropriate
manner. Beside this, secondly, I used to physical exercise to get fresh air on regular basis due to
engage themselves and get a healthy and wealthy life. It can be also supportive to decline my

stress level in a systematic way. Last self-care strategy which I used is writing a journal because
of collecting my thoughts and opinion. It can also significant to develop reflection and self-
awareness. I think it could be important to keep the balance between personal and professional
life systematically (Kiem, et al., 2013).
