Introduction
Leaders are the person who inspires and motivates its followers. A leader a manager of
project management team should have the following interpersonal skills which are team
building, motivation, leadership, communication and influencing. The study will highlight the
ways in which leader can build effective relationship as well as the role of ethics in building
relationship(de Vries and et.al., 2016).
Ways through which leader can build effective relationship with followers
Project can be defined as an organization of people who all work for a specific goal or
objective. It involves a high amount of risk and is expensive a group of people have to put a lot
of time and effort in order to complete the project successfully. Therefore it is very necessary for
an leader of the project to build a strong relation with the followers so that purpose of the project
can be achieved successfully.
Ways in which relationship can be build are :
The coaching approach helps the leader to focus on learning, to focus on present and
future, to have self awareness and to focus on providing support and challenge by its
followers(Hawkins, 2017.). The leader should take into account the above elements in its
coaching approach it will help in building strong relationship with the team members.
Coaching approach will help the leader to ensure proper communication with the team
members(Turnnidge and et.al., 2016). In order to have effective communication the
leader can force its employees to take part in communication process, or interactive
communication should be enhanced within the team.
Follower under the coaching leadership follows the advice given by the leader which help them
to enhance their skills.
Advantages and disadvantages of coaching approach and other leadership approach
Coaching approach
Advantages
It creates a positive work environment. The reason behind this is that leaders who adopt this
approach focuses on providing help to others and enhance their performance
Coaching leader shares all the things with their team member as a result the members are well
aware of what is expected from them

The coaching approach takes to much time to be effective
The effectiveness of this approach depends upon the skills of leader. If leaders do not have the
proper skill than it will result in great risk to the team members

Advantages
Helps in increasing productivity of team members
This approach also helps in reducing cost as there is less need of supervision in this type
of leadership approach(Leadership styles and frameworks you should know, 2019)
Disadvantages
The process of decision making take much time
The security issue lies with this approach as at early stage to many people have all the
necessary information
Ethical relationship is essential in an organisation in order to run the business smoothly. It
involves providing a healthy environment at work place. The ethical relationship can be
promoted in work place by staff meetings.
As a leader I have faced many difficulties but the experience was good. I have learned
many new things from my team members. Many situation arise where my team members are not
agree with me which results in disputes. As our team is full of efficient members which has built
confidence in me.
CONCLUSION
The study helps in understanding the effectiveness of coaching approach to leadership.
And it also help in giving an understanding that how leaders can build relationship with their
team members.
