Introduction The purpose of the report is to assess the link
between HR initiatives such as performance
related initiatives, culture based initiatives and
employee engagement initiatives along with the
overall organizational performance.
One of the important criteria for the selection of
the company was the ASX listing. With a close
look at the list, I specifically chalked out four
companies which are Qantas Airways Ltd.,
National Australian Bank Ltd., Sydney Airport and
Woolworths Group Ltd. I participated in
brainstorming session regarding the selection of
the company and selected Woolworths on the
basis of one key factor which is smooth
availability of information. Along with that, I
wanted to explore the ways in which a large scale
company monitors their human resource
initiatives. As a result, I selected Woolworths.
HR Areas Performance Related Initiatives:
It is recognized to be a set of activities
that contribute to the improvement of the overall
performance of the company (Hwang and Zhao
2015).
Culture prevalent in the organization:
It is recognized to be the working
environment, structure, processes, values, beliefs
and policies in the organization that shape the
internal environment of the company and the
way people behave in the organization
(Christensen, Lægreid and Rovik 2020).
Employee engagement initiatives:
It is the set of activities that contribute to
the enhanced participation of the employees and
improved involvement of the employees with the
organizations (Kim et al. 2016).
Key points related to the HR practices:
The key points related to the HR practices
that I should be considering are training and
development, diversity management and
employee participation and involvement
(Armstrong and Taylor 2020).
