1LEADERSHIP
What was the situation i.e.: how did you organize your group to make and/or process
decisions?
In order to conduct the group study on behavioral leadership that is consist of relationship
oriented leadership as well as task oriented leadership, our team had conducted a group study.
Being the team leader of our group, it was my beauty to organize the group. In order to organize
the group I had taken the following steps:
1. Firstly, we had divided the study into small attainable tasks. Our group was comprised of
10 members excluding me. While 5 members were assigned with the task of gathering
data for relationship oriented leadership, another five members were assigned for gather
information related to task oriented leadership
2. In order to avoid conflict between the group member I ensured positive environment in
the group by encouraging the group members to share informal information about each
others.
What was your task in the group i.e.: what role(s) did you play in the group, and why?
Being the team leader of the mentioned group, my chief job was to get the projects assigned
to the company done by using all the resources available to our team. One of the chief resources
of a team includes team members. As a team leader, my chief roles were as followed:
Developing strategies that the team should due to reach the goal.
Recognizing the employees who lack efficiency and providing them with effective
training.
Having clear communication with the team members and providing them with
instructions

Listening to the feedback of the team members
Monitoring the performance of each team member to ensure that the training provided is
effective.
1. Using leadership theory to justify your evaluations - what actions did you take in the
group, what went well
In order to ensure our success and enhanced the quality o the research, I motivate my team
members both verbally as well as with the help of implementing a reward system. Group
members who were found to be overachieved their target was rewarded. This in turn, has
enhanced the quality of our presentation.
2. What could you have done differently, and why? What were some of the results of
these actions? In terms of leadership theory, what further reflections can you make
of these results or outcomes?
In order to enhance the productivity of the group members, I had encouraged them to convey
informal communication. However, I found that, several group members were getting engaged in
cultural conflicts. This in turn had reduced the productivity of the group. However, the training
provided to the employees showed a positive result. Employees developed respect for each’s
culture and thus the risk of conflict got diminished. In terms of the relationship leadership theory,
I am hopeful that conflict due to racism or culture will get diminished to a great extent in future.
