In the current era, all the good and the bad things that have happened were all under the
influence of the leaders. From the definition of leadership, we can basically understand that it is the
ability of an individual or a group of people to influence, give vision, guide and coordinate a
particular group of people having a common goal by comprehensively and justly understanding the
interest of all members and striking a balance among the conflicting interests of the followers. With
this incite, it is significantly important to have realistic and generous leaders who are able to
positively guide the development and attainment of an organization goals and objectives rather than
their self-interest
With reference to my personality traits, I can considerably say that I hold the required
leadership skills. This includes but not limited to being flexible to changes, conflict management
skills, honesty, and fairness. As an individual preparing for future positive leadership, it is within my
conscience to imperatively acquaint myself with the leadership skills. It is however important to note
that there is no one single method/ technique of leading and thus, I keep leaning new and innovative
ideas to boost up my skills and ability. In other words, I possess the necessary requirements of being a
good leader and still open to new ideas contexts and experiences (Pearson 2012)
In life, there are uncountable many times that I have undergone situations that needed
influencing, guiding and directing a group of people towards achieving a common goal. Amongst the
many times included the time when I was a student leader at high school. Being a student leader gave
me the ability to understand and deal with people from diverse cultures while maintaining harmony. It
further helped in attaining relevant skills in conflict management. This was typical when the students
wanted to strike and I was meant to mediate the administration and the students of how to reach a
mutual understanding. These skills can further be rebuilt and applied in other vast contexts of
leadership and daily living in the society. To become a good leader, it requires the emulation of role
models, accepting advice from collogues and the people who are already in the system. However, to a
greater extent, one should work on shaping their psychological behaviors which include the Id, ego
and the super ego mind.

Making a conscience shadow element in my psyche is an important aspect even when I have
all the required techniques. As it was noted earlier, there is no single way of doing things and for such
a solid reason, it is always important to make conscious elements in my psyche. This may involve
copying the desirable qualities of the successful leaders while considering the ethical codes of conduct
in the prevalent community. It can further be attained by sharing experiences with inspirational
leaders (Vogelgesang Clapp and Osland 2014, p.178)
As a way of promoting support in larger contexts or systems, a general advocacy can be set
up in the context in question. A specific target group may be chosen for example the youth age or the
elite class and the necessary skills imparted to them through empirical training and practices.
Additionally, it must be emphasized that the current leaders in the context must be able to reflect an
exemplary and desirable leadership. This can help the locals in taking the leaders as role models thus
making better followers and leaders to be.
BECOMING ACQUAINT WITH THE INNER TOOLBOX
Since time immemorial, religion and Christianity in particular has played a substantial role in
making the society a better place to be, through encouraging and emphasizing peace in the community
and beyond. As a leader acquaint with the religious norms, following the bible is an important
strategy as the leadership will be in line with the commandments of God. a leader engaged in the
spiritual norm has a lot that is expected from among which may include; peaceful resolution of
conflicts amongst the followers; whenever there are issues in among the members, the leader should
be able to encourage harmonious living with no rivalry among the factions. Furthermore, the leader
should be focused in making people have a deeper understanding of the spiritual realm; this involves
condemning crimes, loving one another, and helping whenever necessary. The religious teaching in
leadership mainly emphasizes on maintaining the ethics in society and observing the will/ command
of God. Therefore a spiritual leader is expected to adhere to the same (Pearson 2012)

The “inner toolbox” of any individual is mainly filled with the traits that are passed on from
the parents to the offspring. The inner toolbox are the core determinants of one’s behavior and life
skills in the society. It is also in the inner toolbox that contains the id, ego and the super ego. Based on
the interaction of my ego and super ego, I can be able to control my plights that could cause me
anxiety. This gives me the ability to contain and control my temper whenever anything annoying
comes up. This is a typical characteristic of a good leader, being able to control myself. Being an
extrovert also helps me in easily socializing with the people I meet. Comprehensively the ability to
integrate the spiritual mind, strong consciousness about my reactions, and controlling my ego
provides a considerably significant advantage of being a good leader. On the other hand however,
there is need for me to further make adjustments of copying up with emotions as it may cause
deviation in the leadership skills.
Basing on the trend of the organizational performance, it can substantially be noted that there
will be a fall in workforce performance both qualitatively and quantitatively. This will in turn lead to
affect the organization’s sales and revenue due to a drop in quality. Consequently, the organization
will fail to pay the salaries to the workers, maintain the required standard thus failing. The failure of
the company affects all the internal stakeholders negatively. For this reason, I would suggest that we
examine and identify the cause of the persistent fall in the workforce performance. The cause could be
as a result of conflicting interests among the workers, low levels of motivation or low job security. As
a leader, I cite the possible remedies for the possible issues in the company after a critical analysis of
the matter and sharing it with the management as well as the employees.
Being a leader can be so challenging due to the fact that you meet people who perceive life in
different ways and the difficulty of making them understand every decision that you make. Failure to
achieve such has always led to conflicting interests and rivalry. Based on such challenges, I plan to
plan to be flexible to changes that come in meeting different people, divergent/ diverse situations, and
contexts. Being a good listener and improving my communication skills is yet another strategy that I
intend to engage in that will help in understanding issues and being able to handle them amicably.
Additionally, my conflict resolution skills will help me in creating harmony and the members in the

high relevance to me in controlling and dealing with challenges as a leader (Pearson, C.S., 2012).
Making a decision from my heart may positively open possibilities and yet on the other hand,
it may be adverse in the type of the decision made. In other words, making a decision from the heart
may not be important, however, the type of decision made is what matters most. As a leader, it is not
expected that the decision you make is not to satisfy your personal interest but rather the interest of
the followers. Much as decisions may be made, it is typically important not to make decision under
the influence of emotions (Egel and Fry 2018., p.990)
LEADING WITH MINDFULNESS AND EQUANIMITY
Firstly, the ego’s reaction to situations solely describes one’s personality identity and the
sense of reality. In most cases, we may develop anxiety due to annoying circumstances. Once the
annoying is too much, the super ego which is responsible for the observation of the community ethics
may be overpowered by the strength of the id and thus may lead to bad behavior as regarded by the
community. Therefore for situations that develop/ create anxiety may be a hindrance to good leader
and it calls for strong ego so as to suppress the forces projected by the id. Else, one fails to control the
nervousness and ends up showing a bad reputation to the followers such circumstances have often
happened to leaders
As noted earlier, circumstances of misconduct by inappropriately inciting violence among the
followers by a specific individual creates a super-strong id reaction and this comes to real when the
source of plight is accelerated. Calming down the reaction of the ego needs a little lengthy time while
keeping myself busy on the physical realm rather than having psychological mind.
Containing the leadership traits can be so unhinging, trying to strike a balance between
anxiety/ fulfilling personality needs and reflecting what is expected of you as a leader. From the
qualities of a good leader, patience and endurance to plight and anxiety situations are one of the
qualities accompanied by ethical adherence. Failing to attend to such in turn ay reflect a leadership

CAPACITY 10: HARVESTING WISDOM FROM EXPERIENCE
From the understanding of a vocation, it implies my natural suitability or the calling to the
strong and positive leadership skills to lead. In other words, thinking of leadership as a vocation
basically implies that one has traits of leadership with minimal need for training and possessing the
strong qualities required of a leader. “Leaders are born and not made” is a phrase that could best work
for an individual in the vocational leadership. This is different from perusing leadership as a career
which engages the feeling of professionalism. In other words, being a vocational leader is concerned
with traits and on the other hand, it is a sense of leadership based on professionalism and leant
materials / skills
Engaging negativa, positiva, transformativa and creativa are positive and strategic tools for
appreciating the necessary aspect of life, right from creation to the spiritual realm. Positiva is an act of
appreciating creation and living in harmony with the creations. The spirit of negativa is a helpful
strategy for letting go those situations that may cause bad feelings or thought. The cretiva part of it is
important in making of new discoveries from the environment. Finally, the transformativa engages in
the realization of insights and making it open to the followers as a leader.
Having the archetypical paths of negativa, positiva, transformativa and creativa can help an
individual in strengthen and adhereing to the rules an commandment of god, more especially the
positiva. The negativa can be applied when trying to ket go things that cause stress. With these
qualities, a leader able to skill the follower in handling frustrations with positive approaches. As a
leader, there is need to have a strong sense of conscious on one’s action because they act as role
models to their followers. It is therefore of much relevance for a leader to familiarize the tools as well
as imparting on the followers the same (Pearson 2012)

It is of much emphasis that a leader should have an experience or involvement of what his
followers go through, irrespective of painful or joyful. Having an experience of the painful situation
can help in inducing the sense of humor in a leader. This implies taking other people’s challenges and
helping them out in the possible way out. However, the bad experiences may at times be of negative
result to the leaders. This may came as a result of unresolved frustrations in the early stages (Jiang
Ananthram and Li 2018, p.447)
Being scapegoated can be a very bad experience for a leader to go through and the best way
of avoiding the condemnation and scapegoating is by solely trying to understand the situations of the
followers and standing with them. This can be done by creating visionary organizational goal to help
in minimizing conflicting interests through an enriched conflict resolution. When we encounter fears,
we tend to feel like we cannot overcome them but when we are dictated by situations that force us to
face them, we develop the strength and courage for facing further frustrating fears and challenges.
“Anything that does not kill you makes you stronger” is an often used phrase to imply such.
In order to help someone suffering at my present, I first need to understand the cause of their
suffering and thus finding a ground to base on to provide the most appropriate psychological help.
CAPACITY 12: LEADING CONTINUOUS CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION
In response to any challenge as a leader, first, I have to critically understand and familiarize
myself with the codes of ethics/ conduct in the society. This will help in observing morals in line to
the community. Additionally, understanding the interest of the people involved in the invent and
citing appropriate solution by that does not conflict or builds a balance between the involved parties
The strong interpersonal, communication and socialization skills that I have can empirically
help in leveraging my leadership vocation. Grounding on the fact that leadership is mainly concerned
with harmoniously influencing others to have a common goal, putting the preceding skills into
practice can be of help in making better leader.
One of the most important ways of addressing new challenges is by being open minded and
flexible to new happenings. Being able to change and adjusting to new challenges by citing new

thanks to the innovative people. As a leader, influencing innovation and experimentations should be
the central and pivotal edge of utilizing the available resources. This can foster the dynamism of how
things are done and while creating new products and services.
