INTRODUCTION
Management and leadership in Hospitality sector play vital role as they help to managed
businesses effectively. Leadership is the most essential function of management which support to
increase efficiency and helps to achieve objective of company (Hallinger and et.al., 2015).
Leadership is the process or art of influencing applicants to work assigned task efficiently,
willingly and competently, without leadership leaders cannot be perform perfectly. Management
is also essential for hospitality sector just as leadership, it helps in gaining competitive
advantages and achieving group goals. It arranges elements of production, organized resources
available in firm in effective and systematic manner. The present report is based on Savoy hotel
in London, they became carte's most successful organization, it has been called as London's most
famous and popular hotel. This study explain different classical management theories, role of
leadership styles and leaders in company, management and leadership in context of
organizational culture and structure. It justifies, internal and external factors that affects
management structures and styles in firm, strategic talent management strength as well as
weakness. Furthermore, it clarifies hard and soft skills of management and leadership, future
skills requirement in both. It describe the comparison between change management system and
leadership with other organization in different sector.
The purpose of this report is to explain leadership and management within company.
Savoy hotel is one of the best hotel in London, they provide quality services to consumers as
well as cater accommodation facilities to them. Their brands, savoy havana and savoy orphoans
is became very famous. Fairmont hotels and resorts managed the overall operations of company,
it has 267 rooms with panoramic views of river Thames across Savoy place. They has associated
with arts, they reintroduced their dinner dances with resident or famous dance band. Savoy hotel
has been used as film locations because of their beautiful structure and design.
The hotel is a luxury hotel which is situated in Strand in the city of Westminster within
Central London. This hotel was opened on 6 August 1889 by impresario Richard D’Oyly Carte.
The mission of the hotel is to provide for quality services to its consumers and to satisfy the
needs to the consumers. The top management team of the hotel manages all the working of the
hotel and activities to be performed within the hotel.

P1 Classical management theories apply in hospitality industry organization
Classical management theories is based on faith employees only have economic and
physical needs. It do not focuses on job satisfaction and social needs, but instead advocates the
specialization of workers, centralized decision making and leadership as well as profitability
maximization. This theories is designed to streamline operations, enhance bottom line and
increased profitability or productivity (Yadav, Sushil and Sagar, 2014). Classical management
theories include, scientific management by Taylor and administrative management theory by
Fayol.
Scientific management theory-
In Savoy hotel the scientific management theory helps to synthesizes and analyse
workflows, their objective is to impreconomic efficiency, specially employees productivity. It
apply in Savoy hotel performing in Hospitality sector since for so long. It is one of the most
luxuries hotels in the world, located in city of Westminster in London. This theory is centring on
enhancing efficiency for work of each workers in company. The leaders of the hotel Savoy must
designed task systematically and allocate to every one appropriately so that they can replace the
older one. They need to trained staff effectively and select the best method for them so that it
help to make all of them more productive rather than before. Savoy hotel wants to gain
competitive advantages with strong team who can be able to contribute in overall procedure. By
adopting this theory in work practices leaders can enhance performance of people.
Administrative theory-
At the hotel Savoy this theory is one of the better classical management theories, based
on concept of departmentalization that means several activities to be done for achieving general
purpose of Savoy hotel must be classified and identified into various departments such that given
task is accomplished effectively (Turan, 2015). This theory is apply in hotel Savoy by following
14 principles of management which applied in all functions and levels of organization. In
addition to this, leaders and managers divide work equally without discrimination, guide them
how to work, they need to treat every one fairly and give responsibilities according to job role.

and development sessions given by effective leaders in company working under Hospitality
sector, enhance the performance and increased productivity of employees. They can manage
talent and skilled labour within business by provide training to them which is quite beneficial for
firm as well as staff. The leader of Savoy hotel plays the role of guiding the team, support them
in work practices and give clear direction for talent in order to achieve organization objectives
and goals (Bolden, 2016). Motivation is the best source of enhancing the performance of
workers which has been done with the help and support of good leader, who can be able to
motivate their people through communication. In order to retain talented applicants with firm for

2015). Employees contribution and ideas encourage business to achieve their objectives. Talent
