Introduction
Leadership can be considered to be an integral aspect of the business environment and in
relation to this, it becomes considerably crucial for the firm to ensure that in order to achieve
long term success, the leadership style which is adopted on the side of the managers needs to be
such that it will successfully be able to guide the associates and colleagues (Antonakis & Day,
2017). Hence, as a good manager in the future, I would be required to reflect on my personal
self which will assist me in identifying the different values and beliefs which I possess and
identify my strengths and weaknesses as well. Moreover, aspects like communication style,
conflict resolution style and the social development as an individual will also be discussed in
order to examine the manner in which the firm will be able to engage in long term success.
Core beliefs and values
The core beliefs can be understood to be the basic beliefs that we as individuals hold
about ourselves. In addition to this, it also determines the core beliefs with respect to the world
we live in (Bhatti et al., 2012). The core beliefs can be understood to be the absolute truths which
we hold beneath our surface thoughts and determine the manner in which we perceive and
interpret the world (Mendenhall et al, 2017). These core beliefs can be taken to be very
convincing in nature and are accepted without question. They are imperative because they
determine the degree to which we as individuals perceive ourselves to be worthy, safe, powerful
and loved (Conger, 2015). The different core beliefs which I possess can be understood to be
beliefs regarding respect. I believe that all individuals as present in the society are bound to
receive a certain level of respect irrespective of their overall background. In relation to this, I am

Moreover, I also believe in leading by example. This means that, I am under the
perception that, if I am bound to give an advice to a certain individual I assume it is critical to
follow that advice in the right manner. This ensures that I will be able to perform well in future.
Additionally I also believe in exhibiting confidence, which means that as an individual, my
confidence level is very high.
According to DuBrin (2015) , the Values can be defined as the broad preferences which
concern the right courses of actions and the outcomes. The values of an individual reflect the
sense of right or wrong a particular individual possesses. The different values which I possess

strengths as a tool to lead in a better manner and will focus on overcoming my shortcomings.

and belongs to the Indo-Aryan race. The Punjabis can be understood to be visibly liberal, strong
headed and courageous. They are hardworking and believe in living a full life. In regard to this, I
have taken up these qualities which make me very hardworking in nature. In addition to this, the
good values which my parents have instilled in me help me in bringing out the best of my
culture. The social development can be understood to be the attempt which is generally made
whereby a child learns to interact with the surroundings and relatively attempt and perceive their
own individuality and the manner in which these individuals are able to gain adequate skills so as
to ensure long term success (Grint et al, 2016). Hence, my social development as an individual

Personality generally tend to focus on the motivational theories, psychological interactions and
one`s environment whether at home or a professional set up. I would like to describe myself as
an introverted person. This means that very often, I need time to open around the different
individuals. Moreover, I would like to describe myself as an observant individual and I am good
at sensing the situations. Moreover, very often I tend to get very nervous in scenarios which are
majorly stressful and this then has an impact on my overall scenario management. Therefore, I
would like to believe that, my perception is quite different and unique in relation to others and
with respect to this; I would like to state that, I need to undertake programs which would assist
me in improving my overall confidence level.
