Introduction
The issue of self-leadership is a question that has emerged across different organizations
and individuals and as a result of this, people have been able to come up with different types of
words that have been used to provide a description to self-leadership. Moreover, it is a condition
that is not given to a personality but instead, it is fully acquired according to the environmental
condition a given individual is exposed (Birdi et al. 2015). One interesting thing about self-
leadership is that is that it has the potential of strongly changing the perceptions of a personality
thus making them to fully develop certain conditions of critical thinking that is able to make
them engage in some form of analysis most so when faced with different situations. At the same
time both self-leadership and personal skills are two major parameters that tend to fully depend
on one another in order to come up with more valuable results. The purpose of this paper
therefore aims towards carrying out an analysis of self-reflection thus leading to the provision of
a deep and understandable situation that can mostly be viewed as a personal level. Moreover, it
also aims towards creating awareness regarding some of the issues that are capable of taking

forms of self-leadership skills that have made me to develop a perception that without these
leadership skills, there is a low probability to succeed within the path of success. For quite a long
time now, I have been able to develop different types of leadership skills that have made me to
efficiently attain different types of goals within a reasonable time frame (Katsikeas, Morgan,
Leonidou & Hult, 2016). Being aspired and goal oriented kind of personality has been one of my
major self-leadership skills that has made to lead myself effectively and be able to create quite a
number of changes in my life. As a result of this, all my goals have been able to keep me on
track by providing me with one of the best things to work towards. On the other hand, another
leadership skill that I have been able to attain is a strong value system. Due to this, I have been
able to highly evaluate whet my values are thus making me to clearly understand some of the top
areas that are more fulfilling in life.

Skills in a personality are whet can appropriately give out a clear description of various positive
outcomes that are likely to emerge as a result of their appropriate and reliable utilization. In this
modern world, quite a number of personalities have been able to neglect their skills not knowing

consideration (Ferris & Judge, 2016). My current level of skill is a condition that has captured
the attention of quite a number of personalities and as a result of this, a good number of them
have always surprised since it is something that they never expected to come out that fast. My
associates have been able to clearly highlight that my current skills level is something that has
gone above average (Mariani, Felice & Mura, 2016). This mainly comes as a result of the

performances that they have been able to see me carry out. At the same time, my colleagues have
also been able to highlight the issue of appropriate communication to be another form of my
major skills where they tend to say that it is work of the best skills that I have been able to
portray during our interactions. I have been able to use quite number of communication
techniques when communicating with different personalities thereby getting one of the most
perfect chances of clearly understanding who they are and what they need (Huang, Backman,
Backman & Chang, 2016). Due to this, my communication with such personalities normally tend
to be very perfect since I normally try as much as possible to avoid any conditions related to
confusion that are likely to emerge during the communication process (Chuang & Liao, 2010).
Moreover, there are quite a number of friends who have been able to clearly highlight that my
problem solving abilities tend to be very high (Hofacker et al., 2016). This is a skill that I have
been able to master all along and I normally find myself strongly attached to it since I strongly
believe that solving a problem is always be beginning of a positive results thus making sure that
quite a number of issues and conditions are capable of changing towards the positive direction
that is more conducive and free from any form of interruptions (Guest, 2011). On the other hand,
I have been able to also develop the skill of patience that normally makes me to stay patient in
almost each and every condition that I have been going through (Brewster, Wood, & Brookes,
2017). This skill of patience within my personality is an average skill that is always driven by a
slogan that clearly states “there is always a payment that emerges from being patient”. Whenever
I think of this personal slogan, I always feel motivated thus getting the power to push on
regardless of the situation that is being encountered (Godey et al. 2016). Team work has been
another perfect and excellent type of skill that I have been able to showcase in quite a number of
situations, this is simply because I have always believed that working as a team is one thing that

will never fail any group since it majorly involves combining of efforts to make sure that
something is well done to perfection (Mishra & Modi, 2016). Most of the time specifically
within a work environment, I have always tries as much as possible to involver different people
in quite a number of teamwork activities, a scenario that has even made me to go as far as
highlighting for them some of the advantages that are likely to emerge when teamwork is
properly handled. Moreover, since this is an excellent skill that people have been able to notice
within my personality, I have always performed better in nearly all the team works that I have
been involved (Hofacker & Belanche, 2016). All I can say is that my skill level is something that
is in a top notch condition as a result of this situation, I will always be ready to deliver what is
required of me irrespective of the surrounding environmental condition (Järvinen, & Taiminen,
2016). I normally tend to believe that an appropriate skill usage is a condition that is always
directed towards the side of ethics and due to this, various types of ethics have the capability of
changing a personality together with the surrounding environment where the individual is able to
perform all the skill related conditions. It is something that is full of positive progress and will
try as much as possible to eradicate the occurrence of any negative condition (Huselid, 2016).
Reflecting on an area of Strength and an area of improvement
Appropriate development of strength in oneself has the capability of moving your personality to
the next level since it leads to a situation that fully involves working hard towards a specific
combination of various objectives. Self-confidence has always been my major area of strength in
quite a number of situations that I have been able to encounter (Jabbour & de Sousa Jabbour,
2016). There are quite a number of situations over the past where I have been able to fully
portray this strength thus making sure that various personalities including organizational leaders
are capable of believing in me. There was a time when my organization was facing loses across

different market segments, a situation that resulted in the reduction of morale across different
sectors within the organization including the top management departments. Since there was no
any other alternative left, a strategic leaders had to be chosen to make sure that to make sure that
the organization comes back to its normal operating conditions (Srinivasan, Rutz & Pauwels,
2016). Fortunately, the top management leaders had to appoint me as the head of the strategic
department following the skills that I had been able to show earlier on (Hudson, Huang, Roth &
Madden, 2016). AS a leader of the department, I was tasked with drafting quite a number of
strategic development plans that were to be implemented by the organization to make sure that it
returns to its normalcy (Onakpoya, Heneghan & Aronson, 2016). Although I had not been in
such a condition before, I developed self-confidence and strongly believed that when all my
skills and potentials are combined, the entire situation would be solved within a minimum time
possible (Birkinshaw, Bresman & Håkanson, 2016). Upon drafting of the entire strategic plan
that appeared to be much more advanced, I made sure that each and every step was appropriately
implemented through a perfect means without many any assumptions since assumptions were
capable of leading to a further advancement of the entire scenario (Martin & Javalgi, 2016).
Additionally, I had a positive reaction towards the situation since I fully believed that it was a
condition that was going to be perfectly sorted out regardless of the time we were supposed to
take. Moreover, as far as my reactions are also concerned, I kept on thinking about the situation
on a daily basis and even went as far as suggesting the implementation of further strategies that
would definitely lead towards the emergence of high levels of changes (Paré & Tremblay, 2017).
On the other hand, another area of my strength is commitment and loyalty. Over the past
period, I have been able to commit myself towards quite a number of tasks that have ended up
emerging as a success (ang & Snell, 2017). To be specific, there was a time that I was an

employee in one of the organizations whose top management officials were able to fully
recognize the efforts that are being shown by the employees. They did this by giving our various
forms of rewards to the employees who performed better in order to motivate their morale
(Shankar et al., 2016). Fortunately, having developed commitment and loyalty as my major
strength, I was able to adequately focus within my work environment and department to make
sure that I am capable of emerging as one of the best employees whose efforts could be
adequately recognized and rewarded (Nestle, 2016). One of the major tasks that I was fully
engaged with in my work environment was to ensure that appropriate quality production of
goods and services was carried out through the use of all the required procedures. Moreover, my
actions involved paying attention to each and every process that I engaged in and at the same
time, I was also able to maintain a quality and reliable relationship with all my colleagues who
also believed in me as their team leader (Pappas, 2016). My level of commitment and loyalty
enabled me to attain quite a number of rewards since the entire management department was
very happy with what I was doing. Fortunately, one of my best rewards at that time was majorly
involved with my promotion to higher level where I was appointed as the chief executive of the
organization. According to my reactions, I was really happy with my personality and as a result
of that, I appeared to be very confident with the direction that I was moving towards (Ogunyomi
& Bruning, 2016).
On the other hand, my level of improvement is how to get along with others most so the
new faces that I have been able to meet from time to time (Truss et al., 2016). Getting along with
others is a condition that hasn’t been that easy over the past since I normally find it very hard to
relate with new faces most so when I have moved to a new work environment. This dates back to
my first time when I was employed, within the organization that I was working; it was totally a

new environment where I knew no one at all. Having created no friendships and bonds with the
personalities who were there, my main task mainly involved concentrating in my work
environment and carrying out various operations according to the required rules and regulations.
After that I drove home without having many interactions with anyone (Hecklau, Galeitzke,
Flachs & Kohl, 2016). My reaction in relation to the entire situation fully involved quite a
number of thoughts that had to ring in my mind from time to time and at some point, I never felt
happy with what I was going through (Nguyen, Thai & Dinh, 2016). I really need to make some
improvements here since getting along with others is an important parameters that is capable of
fully exposing me towards quite a number of activities and situations most so the ones that I have
never encountered before. I strongly believe that by improving in this area, I will be able to
positively benefit from it and even go as far as attaining within a number of objectives at a faster
rate thus developing one of the most essential conditions of scaling up to higher levels in order to
be more competent within my work environment through an appropriate delivery of quality
services irrespective of the organization where I have been given the priority to work.
Achieving personal and professional change
Personal and professional change is a condition that can be attained through the implementation
of quite a number of techniques. There are different types of issues that I need to address
regarding my personal change. AS a result of this, in order to attain a positive personal change,
there will be the need to fully decide on the exact thing that I want. The more precise and clear
the decisions will be, the easier it will appear to easily highlight the exact time when they are
fully complete. On the other hand, another major change goal that I should be able to embrace is
to understand others (Lemon & Verhoef, 2016). This will ensure that I am capable of carrying
out various duties regardless of the people who will be around me, understanding other people

will make me to increase the spirit of brotherhood. On the other hand, my change goal is to try as
much as possible to get along with others thus making sure that I ma capable of fully relating
with them through sharing of various ideas by using various forms of interactions (Wright &
McMahan, 2011). Finally, another change goal that I am planning to embrace it to try as much as
possible to be very inquisitive thus making me to come up with various relevant questions
pertaining different scenarios. AS a result of this, quite a number of problems will be
appropriately analyzed and also different situations tackled with maximum efforts (Stevens &
Campion, 2016).
Changing the behavior or emotional reactions is something that requires the implementation of
quite a number of processes (Voegtlin & Greenwood, 2016). One of the major ways on how I
will be able to appropriately change my behaviors and beliefs is to think positively as much as
possible and avoid any condition that is likely to attach to negative thinking. At some point,
thinking positively tends to come up with some form of motivation thus leading the emergence
of quite a number of positive outcomes that is being carried out at specific times. At the same
time, changing my behavior will also involve getting ready to listen to other people’s
perceptions. By listening to the perceptions of various personalities, I will be able to come up
with quite a number of recommendations specifically the ones that will be very useful to towards
changing my behavior, this will make me to move to another level thus making me to be very
competitive in most of the things that I will be doing. Changing my behavior will not just be a
one way strategy but instead, I will try as much as possible to appropriately follow different
procedures and make sure that my behavior is changed within the minimal time possible
(Stephen, 2016).

Self-leadership is a parameter that should always be given the first priority in each and every
scenario that a person is conducting (Stelzner, 2011). It is clear that implementing self-leadership
requires one to also develop different aspects of ethics in order to be able to evaluate the right
path that should be taken when handling various situations that are related to self-leadership. On
the other hand, self-leadership is aimed towards changing the personality of a given individual
and making them to be better than what they have always been, as a result, they will also be able
to develop quite a number of leadership skills that will not only benefit them but also different
parties together with various organizations that they are capable of working for. In order to
become self-leaders and be able to maintain different aspects of self-leadership, this normally
requires a self-development activity. Moreover, quit a number of organizations that have been
able to prefer the use of self-leadership have ended up reaping big in their goals. Generally, self-
leadership should always be the foundation of every organization most so the ones that are more
concerned about different types of development programs. People should always be ready to
consider the surrounding environment together with some of the major activities taking place
within those environments since this is what is likely to determine that nature of self-leadership
that is likely to emerge within a given personality. Each and every self-leadership strategy should
be able to work perfectly with all the rules and regulations that have been put into consideration
within a given organization thereby providing one of the most conducive environmental
conditions that is totally free from various forms of disruptions capable of interfering with
handling of different situations that might require the help of self-leadership.
