1. Identifying skills and strengths
Task 1
The Big Five personality test and the MBTI test portrayed that I have qualities more like
an analyst or logistician (ISTJ-T). The MBTI report portrayed that I take reasonable steps to
carry out an operation, which is portrayed through 69% I achieved in thinking capability. The
Big Five personality test also portrayed the same nature in me, which helped me in identifying
the major strengths. However, I identified three weaknesses, which is hampering my way of
doing work in a team. The different weakness, which I identified during the test, is lack of proper
communication skills, Empathetic nature and resistance to new ideas. The delineation of the
weaknesses during the tests has helped me in developing different activities for ensuring the
personal development. McCleskey (2014) noted that the assessment of the existing strengths and
weaknesses helps in strengthening the personal development process. Therefore, the tests has
helped me in developing an insight of the different recommended activities that I might
undertake in order to curb out the weaknesses and build a stronger personality for motivating the
subordinates and colleagues.

Self- concept is based on the different beliefs and values that nourishes the mentality and
psychological constructs of an individual. Frich et al. (2015) noted that the aspects of self
conception helps in the better understanding of the individual through the enumeration of the
different values and testaments. Self concept helps an individual in perceiving the different
established values and thereby judging the same. However, the differences in the perceived and
actual value in an individual lead to misunderstanding of the potentialities. Self esteem might be
stated as a subjective emotional evaluation of an individual based on the understanding of beliefs
and values (Berkovich, 2014). However, the biased beliefs of the individuals and the lack of
proper judgmental approach might affect the capabilities of the individuals in identifying the true
nature of their self. Biases might also affect the capabilities of an individual in identifying the
specific capabilities of the same. Therefore, self esteem plays a major role while reflecting on the
individual’s characteristics.
Self awareness is being stated as a capacity for introspecting while recognizing an
individual’s place separate from that of the environment (Brown, 2014). Consciousness on the
capabilities of the people and the manner in which an individual differs from that of the
environment helps in linking the consciousness of the self with that of the surroundings. Self
Awareness is the better knowledge of the self through which coherent understanding of the
operations might be established. The different changes that are undertaken by the individuals are
dependent on the assessment of the self and the manner in which it might contribute to the
activities undertaken by an individual (Babic et al., 2014). However, the assumptions that are
undertaken by the individuals might affect the judgments and the activities that are undertaken
by the same. Perceptions refer to the different beliefs that are held by individuals relating to

Garbade (2015) described perception as identification and interpretation of sense- based

mediums will support the organizations in continuing with the collaborative approach between
the managers and the employees. Salas et al. (2015) stated that establishment of efficient
communication between the managers and the employees assists the same in maintaining the
efficiency of the operations in accordance to the needs of the customers. The different formal and
informal communicational techniques are employed by the organizations based on the
prioritization of the different message types and urgency of the same.

Active listening helps in identifying the context of the message and thereby delineates the
approach through which interactions might be undertaken. The suitability of communication is
dependent on the assessment of the message and the feedback that is provided by the receiver.
Cardon and Marshall (2015) noted that communication is a two way process which is based on
the clarity of the message provided by the ender and the understanding of message context by the
receiver while providing feedbacks. Therefore, active listening helps the receiver in
understanding the context of the message while providing feedbacks to the sender of the message
for supporting efficient communication.

Attentiveness and empathy are the two areas, which assists an individual in to be an
active listener. Attentiveness of a receiver supports the proper identification of the message
contents while developing a perception. On the other hand, Empathetic nature of the listener
helps the same in identifying the position of the sender, which helps in relating the experience
for the better perception of the message. Zessin, Dickhäuser and Garbade (2015) noted that
attentiveness and empathy are the chief areas where a receiver must concentrate for facilitating
efficient communication. Therefore, the development of attentiveness and empathy in the
receiver would help the same in maintaining the efficiency of the communication process.
The utilization of Social intranet based services and discussion forums as tools while
developing communication might assist the team-based operations of the same. The utilization
of Social intranet and discussion forums will be supporting to develop team bonding and lucid
flow of information in time of emergencies. Therefore, the tools will help a team in managing the
operations through facilitation of continuous interactions among the teammates.
Task 2
I received a higher percentage in analytical abilities, which portrayed that I am a
reasonable decision maker. Cardon and Marshall (2015) stated that rational and coherent
decision making helps a leader in guiding the activities of the team towards achieving the
common objective. In this relation, rationality will be helping me to devise the activities of the
team, which will provide a huge scope for success relating to the common objectives of the
organization.
