INTRODUCTION
This section activity 3 mainly focuses on assessing and reflecting own past experience as
well as current level of the individual skills and the required skills needed to lead effectively in
the global environment. Along with this, section would also focuses on gap analysis of personal
skills and measuring their strengths and weaknesses.
1. What do you think are the skills need to lead effectively in a global environment?
With the expansion of Alphapharma pharmaceutical company in the colleagues home
country that is China it has been discussed that as manager I must have adequate skills that
support me to lead the cited company properly in the global environment that are as follows-

Leadership The foremost category of the required skills is leadership skills that
mainly support in the attaining the communication skills,
interpersonal skills etc. that support me in performing my activities
in the proper manner while engaging business activities in the global
marketplace (Mohamed and Lashine, 2003). Along with this through
effective communication skills I can easily engage allocating the
activities within the environment.
Managerial Another skills that need to be required by me for leading effectively
in a global environment is managerial skills related with planning,
time management as well as stress management skills so that I can
easily engage the business expansion in the global environment.
Through reviewing my current experience it has been assessed that I have overseas
experience that support me in expanding the Alphapharma activities in the other country. Along
with this, for becoming the successful leader in the international environment I must
transcending own culture so that I can easily engage the business in the new environment and
culture. Along with this, it has been further analyzed that I don't have sensitivity to the cultural
diversity that directly impact my activities in the global environment. On the other hand, I do not

With the help of assessing all the different required set of skills among individual I must
engage in assessing my own strength and weakness that support me in gathering proper
information and knowledge regarding the skills that I do not possess for surviving in the new
market. The key reason that I have gained for the failure of my skills are that I am in effective in
managing my time as well as activities with the diverse culture and background personnel. As to
sustain in the global environment I must have proper management of my skills so that I can
easily perform my activities in proper manner. On the other hand, I have also assess my certain
strength that support me acquiring and gaining the skills that is that is strong perspective in
training so that I can easily enhance my skills. Along with this, my another strength is that I am
active in undertaking the program that support me in developing the skills so that I can easily
lead the pharmaceutical company in the new region.

In order to successfully engage the business activities in the new region and country it
has been assessed that working as office manager I have to face different cultural views of my
colleagues and staff members. While expanding activities in the global environment I would
focus on recruiting the localize staff within the pharmaceutical company as they are aware
regarding the actual and current market of the region therefore it would support them in easily
