lot more (Jacob, 2018). Besides performing in their jobs, nurses need to be full partners with
other practitioners such as physicians and other colleagues. In this regard, ensuring good
health to the citizens, a good leadership is highly necessary (Ortega et al., 2018). In the

policies and range of initiatives indicates the need of good leadership skill to positively
influence the growth in the delivery of healthcare to the people (Clancy, Ferreira, Rainsbury,
Rosenau & Lock, 2017). Therefore, a strong leadership quality is considered as one of the
most fundamental features in the field of care. Henceforth, this study focuses on the nursing
leadership through personal reflection, and here I will discuss my strength and weaknesses
related to various content areas of nursing. I will also identify one personal goal and the
implementation plan to achieve that goal.
Personal and professional accountability
According to my point of view, it is an important term associated with success of
every individual, both as a worker as well as a leader in any organization. Judging my
working ability I can say that I have the quality of accountability and at the same time I can
take responsibilities of all the tasks assigned to me. However, I have limited professional
experience but my little knowledge also provides me support to deliver a good care to the
patients. Without accountability, it is not possible to achieve any goals and my accountability
quality is one of my strengths which will enable me to become successful in future as well.
Being professional means being responsible and hence I feel that I need to improve my time
management skill to have clarity and commitment towards all the tasks assigned to me.

nursing profession. I also make many adaptations as well as lots of alterations in order to
improve the planning. In addition, a step-by-step and an increasing growth in my nursing

need to adapt various changes and implement them into our working practices and in this
regard, I will be looking for support from my tutors and educators of nursing.
Personal journey disciplines
The area of leadership can be one of the greatest weaknesses in the nursing
profession. I also have a little knowledge about action learning, shared learning and in many

never set back to accept my fault and therefore, my honesty can be my greatest strength
which will support me in acquiring more knowledge. It will also help me to gain knowledge
which in turn will support me to overcome my weaknesses.
Reflective practice and reference behaviour
Constant learning is possible, only if the nurse is truthful and honest. I have a
potential of working beyond my comfort zone of working to provide the best care. In order to
provide a good quality support to all the patients I will work my best. Apart from that, I also
accept and tolerate diverse practices as well beliefs. However, in the workplace it will not be
too easy as there will be varied number of cultural groups. It will be necessary for me to
provide equal care irrespective of their cultural thoughts and beliefs. Besides, I think in
